 **Amy is waiting for her person.**    Amy is the kind of dog who wants to be **close to you**—close enough to cuddle, close enough to sleep nearby, and close enough to know exactly where her people are… but not so close that she has to push you out of bed.    She has been learning and growing while in foster care, and we’re starting to see more of her sweet personality come out. She doesn’t chew on things she shouldn’t, and she’s **finally discovering how much fun toys can be!**    But Amy isn’t perfect—and she doesn’t need to be.   She’s still working on a few things:    Other dogs aren’t really her thing.  Unfamiliar noises can make her bark.  New people may get a few seconds of barking before she decides they’re okay.   And that last part? She’s already showing us that she can learn.   This weekend, Amy met my in-laws for the first time. She tried her best to sound scary for a few seconds… and then, just like that, they were friends.    Amy probably isn’t going to be your **brewery dog**. And that’s okay.   Because maybe she’s meant to be something even better:   **Your home dog. Your couch dog. Your bedtime cuddle buddy. Your shadow. Your happy greeting at the door. He loves the other dog in his home and has been respectful of the cat. He loves every person we meet. Radar is also attentive when walking on a loose leash and potty trained. He's still learning to enjoy being in his kennel. He will stay occupied with a Kong and some cartoons, but will cry on occasion. To be safe, avoid shared walls with this guy. Radar is a high energy pup, well socialized, and would thrive with an active family. He gets so excited around kids but due to his size, would do best in a home with older kids. He gives the best morning cuddles and adores being everywhere his people are. Adoption fee: $495

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Goofy Goose and her sister, Pluto, found themselves unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. They are good with other dogs, people, and dog savvy cats .  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Miss Goofy Goose is stilll very puppy like, has perfected the puppy dog eyes look and she is not afraid to use them to her benefit. She lives up to the Goofy and silly Goose names with her anitics, so it's a perfect combination for her name.  She is great with kids, kennels well (will bark if she hears something), is respectful of cats and loves other dogs of all ages and sizes. If the dogs won't play with her at home, she will eventually give up and entertain herself. She looks to them for cues for what is appropriate and confidence. She has a good amount of curiosity and energy to burn,  so a fenced yard is best for her, but not at a dog park as she doesn't always pick up on cues from dogs right away until she knows them better. which can land her in some trouble with the wrong dog and someone not paying attention.   She has been working on potty training and doing great with frequent outings when people are home, she does great when kenneled during the day but the end of the day gets antsy and may vocalize to go out.  She catches on quickly to new tricks, is eagar to please especially when treats are involved, and is an amazing snuggler. Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Hello, my name is Frodo or Fitzgerald! I’m a 2.5 year old happy energetic pup that’s listed as a Great Dane Mix. I’m overall pretty friendly with all. I am kennel trained and a great eater, which means I’m also fun to teach new tricks to! I would be best suited to go to a new home that has a schedule and lifestyle that I can be a huge part of. Since I’m young and full of energy I would do best in a fenced in yard or have the ability to have new activities I can be a part of like hiking or day trips to explore new places. I need solid leadership as sometimes I need to be a little recentered or refocused when I get over stimulated. Because of this, I would be best in a place without young children as I’m still a little uncoordinated from time to time and little kid energy is a bit confusing for me. Kids who are a little older and are interested in helping train me are definitely an exception. Basically from the get go I’m going to just need consistency throughout everyone in the household to help me learn the rules so I can settle in successfully. My current foster mom does in-home boarding at our house so I spend my days meeting new dogs and some new people, so I am pretty well socialized and very much thrive with all the constant stimulation. I do best meeting others outside my kennel in an open space, I tend to be submissive and take appropriate correction from dogs older than me, very well as I’m constantly learning ways to play with all different sizes and breeds. Meet Finn, a Pit Bull born approx 12/2/24. Finn is a BIG, loyal boy with so much love (and kisses) to give. He is house trained and accustomed to a home with a fully fenced yard and an oversized dog door. Finn is also kennel trained, and his XL kennel can go with him to his forever home. Finn has had basic obedience training and would benefit from continued training to help build his confidence. He walks reasonably well on a leash, but due to his size, additional leash work will help him become an even better walking companion. He rides quietly in the car but can be nervous when getting in and during rides, so he’ll need a patient owner to help him feel more comfortable. At home, Finn is a wonderful mix of calm and cuddly, with bursts of playful energy. He loves attention and can get especially excited when meeting new people or after spending a few hours alone. Finn has been around both dogs and cats; he generally does well with other dogs but may be a bit too energetic for older or more laid-back companions. He may also chase cats. Finn enjoys durable chew toys like Nylabones and Benebones, and when he’s feeling anxious or bored, he has been known to sneak a shoe or two. Because of this, he’ll thrive in a home that provides structure, enrichment, and supervision. Finn would do best in a calmer environment with an experienced dog owner who can continue guiding him and build a strong, lasting bond. Hi I’m Anne! My family says I am the sweetest girl :)  My favorite thing is to curl up in a cozy spot (preferably somebody’s bed) and take a nap. I also like to play with my toys, but I have to be careful because I have a heart condition and if I play too hard or get too excited, I have mini seizures that cause me to lose my balance and tip over. In more severe situations, I could experience a more serious seizure-like episode. I’m super sweet and gentle. I do well in and out of my crate and have only had a few accidents. My family has left me alone for up to seven hours and I have done just fine. I love meeting new people, but I’m not so sure about dogs. I can be around them, but if they get too close I might let them know. But my family thinks that with some training, I might be able to make some friends and maybe even live with other dogs. I also love riding in the car! I like staring out the window, and then when I am bored of that, I like to curl up in the back seat and take a nap.  I know my basic commands, but my family says I’m stubborn because I don’t always like to listen when they call my name and they want my attention. They also say I’m being dramatic when I give them my pouty eyes. I do okay on walks, but I need to use a harness since I do like to wander and explore and of course if I see a squirrel, rabbit, or another dog, I want to get a closer look!  I would do best with someone who likes to lay around with me and understands my physical limitations. Due to my heart condition, it is hard to predict how much time I have left, but I hope to find someone who is willing to love me anyway!
