Big Jim is an 80-pound snuggle bug with a fawn coat, droopy eyes, and a big heart. He’s calm, gentle, and happiest when he’s soaking up attention or napping on the couch with his people close by. He loves his walks, rides great in the car, and has quickly learned that his crate means comfy naps and treats. He’s housebroken, walks beautifully on leash, and knows a few commands — though he’s still not convinced “lie down” is necessary. Bigs isn’t much for toys, but give him a bully stick, a pup cup, or a soft blanket and he’s set. He’d do best as the only pet in the home — he loves having his people all to himself. Male One Year Old Good With Dog No Cats Good With Kids Deaf Requires Another Dog in Home Hi, I’m Oso. I’m a one-year-old Boxer with plenty of energy and a big personality. I also happen to be deaf, but that doesn’t hold me back. I’ve already learned sit, lay down, come, and stay using ASL, and I pick up new things quickly—especially when there are treats involved. I walk nicely once we’re outside, though I can be a bit stubborn about getting my collar and leash on. Once it’s on, I like to carry the leash to the door myself. I have good manners too—I sit before meals, go into my crate on my own, and I’m great with the dog door. I love other dogs, but I can play a little rough with smaller ones. A home with another dog closer to my size would be a good fit, since I watch and learn from them. Cats probably aren’t the best match, and because I have big zoomies that can send furniture sliding, a home without very young kids would be safest. Some of my favorite things are walks, camping, car rides, and curling up with my foster dad. I also enjoy “helping” in the garden, especially if I get a few slices of fresh cucumber as a snack. I may not hear the world around me, but I pay close attention and adapt quickly. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, and energetic Boxer to share life’s adventures, I’d love to meet you. While I may be shy at first, I warm up quickly to show you my sweet, gentle personality. I have all the fun Boxer traits—playful, goofy, and I even do the kidney bean dance complete with tail wags when I'm happy to see you. All I want is to be loved on, there is no such thing as too much love and attention for me. I am currently living with a Boxer brother that I really enjoy playing with. I usually have some sort of toy near by and will gladly engage in play once I'm comfortable with you. I like to be outside at home, this is where I feel most confident, and so far, the PNW rainy weather hasn’t gotten me down. I am working on building up my confidence so when I leave the house and go for walks, they feel less intimidating. I am getting used to being in and around crowds and learning that not all loud noises are scary. My foster mom really wants me to "sparkle", so she has been patient with me, goes slow, and offers encouragement with lots of treats during our walks. This helps me feel more assured, and I make progress each time. My ideal home would be with another male dog, who is confident and can be my bud. I would also gladly take all your attention as an only dog and be your forever cuddle buddy and companion. I know most of the important manners like "sit", I do well on car rides and will sleep quietly in my crate. Though I am gentle with kids, I would be happiest in a home that is on the quieter side and predictable. Once I trust you, my full personality comes out at full speed.
