Story
HAPPIEST DOG EVER ALERT!! Hera is one happy, happy dog. She is described as not having a mean bone in her body and there isn't a single thing that she hasn't liked! Hera loves to go on runs with her human foster brother. Sometimes she pulls on the leash some, but she is correcting well. She is working on commands and manners. Sometimes she gets a little too excited about something and may jump, but she is learning quickly. Some of her favorite things are to play with her doggie foster brothers & sisters, who are each under 20 pounds. Hera understands that they are smaller than her and is so very gentle when playing with them. Toy time is the best time of day!! Hera makes all day long "toy time" though, as she has one in her mouth almost every waking minute. She is happy to share her toys and if one of the others wants one, she lets them have it, doesn't try and get it back and just goes and gets another. If no one is available to play with her toys with her, she is perfectly happy playing with them all by herself!! In the middle of all the runs, toys, playtime and learning; Hera loves nothing more than to love on her person, be in the lap, give sweet kisses and receive belly rubs. We are confident that Hera would do well in just about any household as long as she has exercise, a person who will love her as much as she would love them and a snuggle buddy for the middles!! Please be aware that all of our pets are in foster care in South Texas. They are transported to their new homes once adopted. We are 100% volunteer based, so it could take a day or 2 before we are able to process an application. If you are interested in adopting an animal, please fill out our adoption application using the blue Apply To Adopt button above and someone will review it shortly!

Story
Klint is a 6-7 year-old boxer/bully mix weighing around 60 lbs. He has tons of personality which makes him so much fun to be around. Klint’s favorite things include having “his” humans call his name to get his attention (he’ll RUN to meet you wherever you are), playing fetch, and eating cheese. He loves going for walks, curling up for long naps on rainy days, and thinks that Dick’s hamburgers might be the best food in the world. Klint’s ideal home would have a fenced in backyard where he can stretch, lie in the sun, and keep on the lookout for squirrels and birds. He also loves a good back scratch on dry grass! He’s been living with a foster family, where he’s impressed them with his good behavior, loving demeanor, and manners. He’s also shown to be incredibly smart, learning quickly what’s expected of him in the household. He needs to be the only pet and has reacted in the past with other animals. Given his energy level, he’d do best in a house without small children or frequent visitors/strangers. Unfortunately, Klint has been bounced in and out of a few homes as they didn't have time for him, leaving him alone for 12-13 hours per day. Due to this, he is a dog that does not want to be left alone for long periods of time and prefers a family that will give him the time and attention he deserves. Klint was mistreated by a man previously and now can be a bit apprehensive around new men. He may take a while to warm up to new people, but once he trusts them, he’s all in. Klint is neutered, UTD on his shots and micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $200.00.

Story
Cody is a 5 - 6 year old Boxer mix who is looking for a loving, active and structured forever home! He is sweet but had a rough beginning so will need a rescue experienced home that will help him build trust, learn basic obedience and gain confidence. He will bond to his people and loves attention and affection. He loves treats and is glad to work for them! He has not had a lot of training so will need support with continued basic obedience. He is looking for a home that is adult only or with kids over the age of 16. He will thrive in a home where he can be active, he loves to run around, go for walks, and would make an excellent outdoor activity partner. Cody can do well with other dogs but it is always best to do proper introductions to make sure it is a good match and that all parties 'mesh'. Cody would do best in a home with a large fenced yard where he can run, roam and play. Cody is UTD on shots, has had a dental, is microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Say hello to sweet and spunky Cleo! She came to us from a high kill shelter in CA with her sister. She is a Boxer/Shepherd mix, 5 months old and currently 20lbs. We estimate she will be between 30-45lbs full grown. Cleo is your typical puppy, and has lots of fun and playful energy. She will need an active family, that will give her proper activity and work on basic puppy training needs. Cleo is great with other dogs and very playful. She would do well with another dog in the time, or fine as an only dog with continued socialization. She is not tested with cats. Cleo is spayed, UTD on shots and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $550.

Story
Scarlett joined our family May of 2015 at 1 year of age, and now is coming up on 9 years old. She is a mutt, a boxer, pitty, german short-haired pointer mix weighing 65lbs. She has a boxer body, a pitty head, and pointer prey-drive. Her personality is very much a mix of boxer energy and pitty loyalty. Scarlett is well trained; obedient, knows what is expected of her, and she is beautifully well-behaved. She loves people and would like to crawl right up into your lap. She is exceedingly sweet. A family environment would be ideal for Scarlett. We have a lot of parties, a lot of socialization, and she just loves that life. Energy is Scarlett's super power, she is the energizer bunny. Wanna run? Wanna bike? Wanna hike and camp? Scarlett is your dog. She'll go anywhere and do anything with you. Note, she needs a courteous driver to ensure she does not get car sick. She is dog friendly but often needs an introduction, first.
