Story
NOW PLAYING! RUFIO: THE LOST BOY OF LOVE! He’s got the brains, the brawn, and just enough mischief to keep you guessing. This isn’t just a dog. This is Rufio. Once a scrappy underdog, Rufio has emerged from the shadows of his past with a wagging tail and a heart of gold. Equal parts mischievous and loyal sidekick, this handsome pup is ready for his next great adventure: finding his Foreverland. Rufio is the ultimate leading man: smart, loving, and just the right amount of goofy. He’s got that “bangarang!” spirit, and a knack for turning every squeaky toy into an action scene. Need a co-star for a car ride? He’s your guy (though he may cry a little during emotional travel sequences). Looking for comic relief? He’ll toss his toys in the air and entertain himself until you’re in stitches. Off-screen, Rufio is pure heart. He’s a Velcro pup through and through, following his favorite humans like a shadow, or, let’s be real, like the world’s most loyal production assistant. When the camera stops rolling, he loves to snuggle up and take power naps worthy of an Oscar. Every hero carries a few battle scars, and Rufio is no exception. After some old fractures and the kind of hard knocks that make a dog wise beyond his years, our leading man prefers his adventures with a slower pace. Extended hikes and steep staircases aren’t his kind of scene. While his stride might be measured, his heart still races at full speed for the people he loves! He’s looking for a calm home, maybe with another laid-back, confident dog who can help him feel secure. A fenced yard and a comfy couch are all he needs to shine. He may bark when strangers approach (he takes his role as “guardian of the realm” very seriously), but deep down, he’s all love and loyalty. Rufio’s been through his training montage and is ready for his happy ending- one filled with love, laughter, and lots of popcorn. Adopt this silly, soulful boy and let him be the hero of your heart’s story. Rufio’s adoption fee is $450. He is estimated to have been born in May 2020 and weighs roughly 60 lbs. Rufio is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Per our rescue policy, unless specifically noted in a dog's bio, we will not consider adoption applications from families with children under 5 years old.  Fill out an adoption application for Rufio at: https://www.forgottendogsrescue.com/adoption-application ##1725448##

Story
Hi, my name is Harper! I was born in December of 2023. I appear to be a boxer mix and weigh 50 pounds. I came into rescue after I was found wandering around a rural neighborhood. I am the sweetest girl and love everyone I meet. No warm up period needed. My people say I have a lot of personality and I am a total wiggle butt. I have never been cat tested so my people are going to say no to a home with furry felines. I do well with other dogs. I would love to be with an active family. I was made for hiking! I have never been around children so it might be a good idea if they were eight and up. I am a healthy pup and if you are looking for a new fur baby, I may be the one. I am up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. I am house trained and walk well on a leash. I ride well in the car and love to be out and about. If you are interested in giving me a forever home please email adopt@thezoeygroup.com for application links and additional information.

Ziggy is an older distiguished gentledog. He loves to be a couch potato. He does love going for a walk. He is always happy to see people and give them his paw. He follows commands and is crate trained. His nickname is "Tiger" because of his coat. He is very loving to people and selective to other dogs. Proper introduction is always a must. He wouldn't be ideal with a house that has small children. He is always eager to please. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He would love to travel anywhere in the US or Canada. ##1545628##

Story
Pat is a F blk/wht pit bull foster notes: Pat is a blue-nose pit and approximately 2 years old. When she feels safe she shows her loving, silly, and playful side. Pat loves to play with squeaky toys, go on walks, and eat chicken. Pat can be very affectionate and loves to cuddle on the couch. Pat’s ideal home is a healthy balance of outdoor and homebody activities. Although Pat does have the capacity to be friendly, she does have reservations: Pat is fearful of strangers walking towards her especially if they’re making movements with their arms. Pat can also be fearful of other dogs that stare at her and my react with barking and lunging. It’s clear that Pat has had a rough start to life but in the right home she will thrive. Pat is potty trained, walks well on leash, and does well in car rides. Pat is learning commands such as sit and wait.  She loves bananas Pat would do best in a home that has experience with rescues and has the patience to work with her. Pat would do best as the single pet in the home but may be okay with other dogs with a slow introduction.  Foster-Mom notes:  •Personality/Temperament: Pat listens to me really well—I have built a strong rapport with her so it’s not difficult for me to clean her paws, brush her teeth, moisturize her paws etc. And she has never snapped at me when I’ve done these things. The only thing is when I first got her she was slightly fearful of her harness and collar but she’s now completely fine with it especially since I’ve shown her we can take it off. I think whoever adopts Pat wouldn’t have issue with this either so long as there is a strong loving foundation.    Pat loves jumping in bushes and prefers to go to the bathroom behind the bush    Pat sometimes gets the zoomies when she poops or pees so something to be mindful of   When Pat is anxious she bites at her nails and paw pads so I make sure that she has toys so she can redirect that to something else    •Medical Appointments: She was reactive when she went to the vet but my vet is very patient with her and worked around it. I brought her with a muzzle on. Trazodone also has been a big help specifically when I took her to get spayed.    •Social Engagement: Pat loves my youngest dog Koko but does not like Sugar. The latter is because Sugar smelled food that Pat had and wanted it and this made Pat distrustful of Sugar. Sugar is also my oldest living dog so I think there’s a level of respect Sugar feels like she should be getting. When Pat is hungry and smells chicken or that I’m cooking she will “awroo” at me (not a bark but not a cry) and Sugar doesn’t like that so she’ll bark at Pat.   Pat also seems to be more fearful of men but with patience she can overcome it (eg, she was reactive when she first met my dad but now she loves him and follows him around the house when we visit ##2576226##

Story
Nila is a 3 yr old F tricolor pitbull This poor girl’s owner was arrested and she was brought to the shelter for safekeeping, but now her short time has run out. This shouldn’t be how this happy, friendly girl’s story ends. She should have so many years left In playgroup, Nila was wiggly, happy go lucky, and playful. She was tested with pretty friendly and submissive dogs who liked her personality and there is obviously room for conflict with less friendly dogs, so please remember the importance of slow intros. ##2712710##
