Story
NOW PLAYING! RUFIO: THE LOST BOY OF LOVE! He’s got the brains, the brawn, and just enough mischief to keep you guessing. This isn’t just a dog. This is Rufio. Once a scrappy underdog, Rufio has emerged from the shadows of his past with a wagging tail and a heart of gold. Equal parts mischievous and loyal sidekick, this handsome pup is ready for his next great adventure: finding his Foreverland. Rufio is the ultimate leading man: smart, loving, and just the right amount of goofy. He’s got that “bangarang!” spirit, and a knack for turning every squeaky toy into an action scene. Need a co-star for a car ride? He’s your guy (though he may cry a little during emotional travel sequences). Looking for comic relief? He’ll toss his toys in the air and entertain himself until you’re in stitches. Off-screen, Rufio is pure heart. He’s a Velcro pup through and through, following his favorite humans like a shadow, or, let’s be real, like the world’s most loyal production assistant. When the camera stops rolling, he loves to snuggle up and take power naps worthy of an Oscar. Every hero carries a few battle scars, and Rufio is no exception. After some old fractures and the kind of hard knocks that make a dog wise beyond his years, our leading man prefers his adventures with a slower pace. Extended hikes and steep staircases aren’t his kind of scene. While his stride might be measured, his heart still races at full speed for the people he loves! He’s looking for a calm home, maybe with another laid-back, confident dog who can help him feel secure. A fenced yard and a comfy couch are all he needs to shine. He may bark when strangers approach (he takes his role as “guardian of the realm” very seriously), but deep down, he’s all love and loyalty. Rufio’s been through his training montage and is ready for his happy ending- one filled with love, laughter, and lots of popcorn. Adopt this silly, soulful boy and let him be the hero of your heart’s story. Rufio’s adoption fee is $450. He is estimated to have been born in May 2020 and weighs roughly 60 lbs. Rufio is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Per our rescue policy, unless specifically noted in a dog's bio, we will not consider adoption applications from families with children under 5 years old.  Fill out an adoption application for Rufio at: https://www.forgottendogsrescue.com/adoption-application ##1725448##

Story
Bowser came to me from a friend that moved and could not take Bowser with him. I agreed to foster Bowser until I could rehome the dog. Bowser is still a puppy about 9 months old. He has an abundance of puppy energy. Bowser wants to be a good boy! He just needs a good home and someone one to put the polish on his training and manners. Bowser is potty trained and crate trained. Bowser likes leash walks, and is very social with people and other dogs on these walks. Bowser has been to the dog park many times, but sometimes wants to play too hard with small and/or timid dogs. Bowser seems to enjoy the water as well. Bowser has had no direct contact with babies or little kids, city chickens or other livestock. So unfortunately I cannot provide any information about this. At this age of puppyhood, Bowser needs plenty of chew toys at all times. I am confident that Bowser will make a dedicated companion for the right person or family.

This beautiful 4-year-old Boxer mix has a soft, gentle personality and a quiet charm that's impossible not to love. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, she blossoms with patience, kindness, and a little time. Once you've earned her trust, you'll have a loyal best friend who loves being by your side. • Sweet, gentle, and affectionate • Loves forming close bonds with her people • Calm, easygoing personality • Working on her crate training, leash skills, and basic manners • Smart and eager to learn with positive encouragement • Would thrive in a patient home with a consistent routine • A secure, fully fenced yard is required so she can safely build confidence and enjoy the outdoors Neela may take a little longer to come out of her shell, but watching her confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. She's looking for a family who will celebrate the little victories, give her the time she needs, and show her just how wonderful life can be.

Story
Hi, my name is Harper! I was born in December of 2023. I appear to be a boxer mix and weigh 50 pounds. I came into rescue after I was found wandering around a rural neighborhood. I am the sweetest girl and love everyone I meet. No warm up period needed. My people say I have a lot of personality and I am a total wiggle butt. I have never been cat tested so my people are going to say no to a home with furry felines. I do well with other dogs. I would love to be with an active family. I was made for hiking! I have never been around children so it might be a good idea if they were eight and up. I am a healthy pup and if you are looking for a new fur baby, I may be the one. I am up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. I am house trained and walk well on a leash. I ride well in the car and love to be out and about. If you are interested in giving me a forever home please email adopt@thezoeygroup.com for application links and additional information.

Story
Ziggy is an older distiguished gentledog. He loves to be a couch potato. He does love going for a walk. He is always happy to see people and give them his paw. He follows commands and is crate trained. His nickname is "Tiger" because of his coat. He is very loving to people and selective to other dogs. Proper introduction is always a must. He wouldn't be ideal with a house that has small children. He is always eager to please. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He would love to travel anywhere in the US or Canada. ##1545628##

Story
BEST WAY TO INQUIRE, EMAIL ADOPTIONS@BAMMRESCUEPDX.ORG Zazu is a 6-year-old, 56-pound handsome guy who is a total people lover outside of his kennel. He is friendly, social, affectionate, and enjoys attention and being petted. Zazu is playful, energetic, and very food motivated and  he’ll happily work for tasty treats! He loves stuffed toys and would much rather wrestle with a plushie than chase a ball. He also has a hilarious habit of rolling around and digging in the shelter kiddie pools. Zazu initially shared a kennel with the small female companion he arrived with, and he was instrumental in helping her gain confidence in the shelter. He has also done well in playgroups and has been friendly and appropriate during dog introductions. He enjoys playing with female dogs but can be more selective with some male dogs, so a meet and greet with any potential canine companions is recommended.Zazu has been placed on final due to kennel stress observed by staff. Confinement has taken a toll and he's become reactive to unfamiliar people while in his kennel. That behavior does not tell the whole story. Once Zazu is outside, he quickly shakes off the stress and readily seeks attention from his handlers. His goofy, affectionate personality is sure to win people over once the kennel bars are removed. Zazu needs the opportunity to decompress outside of the shelter and show someone what a fun, happy dog he can be. ##2830364##

Story
BEST WAY TO INQUIRE, EMAIL Adoptions@BAMMRESCUEPDX.ORG 3 yr old gray / white F pitbull mix  - will need very patient foster / adopter Keesha was pretty shut down in the shelter environment, but improved markedly in only a short time out in the yard. She has a lot of potential with a patient handler and will likely come out of her shell once she feels safe. My name is Keesha. I’m 3 years old and I weigh 64 pounds. I was terrified in the shelter environment. But today… something happened. Today, someone took me out of my kennel I walked with them to the yard. I was nervous at first. I didn’t know what was going to happen. So I stood quietly. But they waited. And little by little… I relaxed. I took treats from their hand. I stood close to them. And when they reached out to pet me… I let them. I let them pet my head. My neck. My back. I didn’t pull away. For a little while, I felt safe And I wondered… Is this what it feels like to be loved? I’ve had a hard life. I’ve had litter after litter of puppies. I also appear to have had puppies recently. My fur is patchy. My nails are overgrown. My body shows the years of not being cared for properly. I’m still trying. I’m scared. I’m quiet. i need time - time to come out of my shell on MY timeline. But today I showed someone that there is a dog underneath all that fear. A dog who wants to trust. A dog who wants to trust. A dog who wants to be near you. A dog who wants treats and gentle pets.  A dog who deserves to finally know what it feels like to have a family. I just need someone to give me time. Someone to look into my eyes and say… “Keesha, you’re safe now. You’re finally home.”    ##2839045##
