Hi, my name is Harper! I was born in December of 2023. I appear to be a boxer mix and weigh 50 pounds. I came into rescue after I was found wandering around a rural neighborhood. I am the sweetest girl and love everyone I meet. No warm up period needed. My people say I have a lot of personality and I am a total wiggle butt. I have never been cat tested so my people are going to say no to a home with furry felines. I do well with other dogs. I would love to be with an active family. I was made for hiking! I have never been around children so it might be a good idea if they were eight and up. I am a healthy pup and if you are looking for a new fur baby, I may be the one. I am up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. I am house trained and walk well on a leash. I ride well in the car and love to be out and about. Loki is a handsome, affectionate, and well-mannered 8-year-old dog who is urgently seeking a dedicated adopter. He loves people, gets along well with friendly female dogs, and plays fetch like a pro. Tennis balls are his favorite! Outside the shelter, Loki walks well on leash, regularly checks in with his handler, and stays calm around passing people and dogs. He still has the stamina for a 4-mile hike but is happily past the challenging adolescent phase. Loki has been placed on medical final due to ongoing allergy-related needs. While in the shelter, he has required regular ear cleanings that must be performed under sedation. Although Loki has never shown aggression toward veterinary staff, he is sensitive to handling and struggles to remain still for ear treatments. He has shown improvement on a poultry-free diet along with prescription allergy medication such as Apoquel or Cytopoint. With consistent diet and medication, his adopter may be able to reduce or even eliminate the need for frequent ear cleanings. Loki has lived in foster homes and does well in a home environment. However, he was returned from one foster placement due to incompatibility with household cats, so a cat-free home is required. Loki would thrive with an active individual or family willing to provide consistency, patience, and ongoing support for his medical care. ##2617118##
