Story
3 yr, 5 months Dotty and her mom, Delilah, were found abandoned at a farm and turned over to Rescue. Dotty, a beautiful calico, was born around May 2020. She is quiet, affectionate on her terms with trusted people, and avoidant of strangers. Dotty enjoys window watching and playing with wand toys as long as there is no competition. She is on the passive side and really enjoys Delilah’s companionship. Dotty likes a little bit of petting and brushing. She does not like being picked up and prefers to sit near you. She gets along with most cats. Dotty has not met dogs, nor kids under age nine, but if they are gentle and quiet she will be fine. Are you the patient person willing to give her time to trust and blossom? This cat and others are available at Cat Tales Rescue. Cats have been vet checked, spayed/neutered, wormed, tested for FIV/FeLV, have distemper and rabies shots. Adoption fees are $200+tax and for cats age 6+ the fee is $175+tax. Some special breeds are $250+tax. For further information or to start the adoption process, leave a message at 612-202-9492 or email cattalesmn@outlook.com If you are gone 7 or more hours a day, please consider adopting two cats, as one cat usually gets bored. Two cats are easier to care for than one (they self-entertain while you are at work), and they are emotionally healthier (don’t get lonely and bored). ~*~*~* Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cattalesmn *~*~*~*~*

Story
Priscilla is a young, friendly dilute calico cat born December 2022. With those she knows she tolerates being carried, jumps into your lap, and stays for short sessions of petting or brushing. She likes tummy stroking, window watching, and playing with toys with you or by herself. Priscilla door greets, ankle rubs, gives kitty kisses, rubs faces, kneads you, and touches your nose. She is shy around strangers, tolerates respectful dogs, and is fine with kind kids, and most cats. She uses her litterbox well and a scratching post. She arrived at the Rescue with an advanced viral eye infection in one eye. After treatment the right eye has partial vision. An inexpensive med (lysine powder $17 for a 6 month supply) is put on her food once a day. If she becomes stressed, her eye gets weepy. The vet says as she matures and her immune system strengthens, it is possible it will cease to act up under stress. None of this stops her from being a affectionate, friendly young cat that would make a wonderful companion. A sibling is available. Adoption fee is $200. This cat and others are available at Cat Tales Rescue. Cats have been vet checked, spayed/neutered, wormed, tested for FIV/FeLV, have distemper and rabies shots. Story
Ivy, a tabby calico mix older kitten, was found in a park and unclaimed. She purrs on contact with her trusted person, likes petting, and brushing. Ivy likes to sleep with you, watch wildlife at the window, plus play with toys and with her water dish. She hides from active dogs and is okay with other cats. She is very friendly with trusted folks, shy of strangers, affectionate, easy going and quiet until meal time. Ivy greets you, follows you, and allows you to place her in your lap. She has fine litter box habits and uses a scratching post. Foster kitten pals are available. This cat and others are available at Cat Tales Rescue. Not good with kids, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Petunia's approximate birthdate is June 04, 2015. She is spayed, vaccinated, and she has tested negative for FIV/FELV. She also has a registered microchip. Petunia came in to rescue as part of relocation of outdoor cats when they were no longer welcome on the property. Some of these cats were social cats that had previously lived in a home. Most were scared and just needed time to come around. Petunia was one of those cats. She is still scared with sudden movements but will seek attention when she feels safe. She would do best in a home with a predictable routine and another friendly cat to help build her confidence and show her the way. She will make a great companion for the right person who wants to give a cat a chance at living a safe and loved life. If you are interested in meeting or adopting Petunia, please complete an adoption application at savingtails.net Saving Tails Animal Rescue (STAR) is a 501(c)3 registered no-kill, non profit animal rescue. All animals are placed in loving foster homes until their forever family finds them. Because there is not a physical shelter location, foster homes are needed to help rescue local animals who are in danger of euthanasia. If you would be interested in fostering an animal in need, please complete a foster application at savingtails.netApril 11, 2024, 7:22 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *Bonded with Cutie* Annie is a gorgeous calico cat with beautiful hazel eyes! She is a chill cat that loves affection and to be scratched! Her ideal afternoon consists of naps in the sun on her cat tree. Annie likes to stretch out on the floor and then roll over onto her side and pull herself along on the floor like she's is scooting on her side - it's adorable and hilarious! Annie loves her sister Cutie so much and they need to be adopted together. Check her out here!  Seriously, two cats are way better than one and these gals are sweethearts! Annie is from an owner surrender with sister. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you'd like to donate towards this pet's care, you can donate to our Animal Care Fund.   Our Animal Care Fund supports the medical and veterinary needs for all Ruff Start Rescue animals. You'll be able to enter this pet's name on the second page of the donation form. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! My name is Dory and I have quite the story to tell you! My foster mom saw me at a local park and at first thought I was someone’s barn cat because I walked up to her but then went on my way. However, 2 months later, my foster mom saw a photo of me pop up on Facebook because someone else found me at this same park and was seeing if I belonged to someone. This time she noticed I lost weight and had lots of ticks on me. My foster mom knew right away to come get me and start finding my forever home. I enjoyed sleeping right by the parking lot out in the open - my foster mom thinks my previous owners abandoned me right there.  At first, I am not trusting of humans and don’t want to be pet or held. I need a home that will let me settle in and adjust on my own time with little interaction so I can get used to the new smells, environment, and people. I get very scared in new situations and am not a fan of change. My foster mom has been working with me for quite awhile and my favorite thing is chin scratches and sleeping on her lap while she works from home.    I like to play, too! Check out this video of me playing with some of my toys . I don’t like loud noises or fast movements. I will do best in a calm and quiet home without any children, and with people who know and understand cat social cues and behavior. I will be shy and unsure for a while but once I warm up to new people, I just want to snuggle! I enjoy snuggling in blankets, on your lap or soaking up some sun from a window. I really love toys, especially tennis balls but I can get overstimulated with toys so please be careful of your hands because I might accidentally scratch! Dory is from a stray surrender.
