From her foster mom, Bercem: Surya is a sweet, confident girl who loves people, playing with her toys, and making biscuits. Lots and lots of biscuits! She's practically a professional biscuit maker. She makes them on my cheeks, on my stomach, and even in the air! It's her signature move, and one of the cutest things I've ever seen. Surya is also a playful little girl who sometimes brings me toys so we can play together. I'll toss one, and she'll catch it! She loves carrying her toys around, chasing them, and occasionally launching herself into the air after them. After her morning burst of energy, she's usually ready for a nice long nap. She's affectionate and loves being petted, but she also appreciates her independence. She prefers to come to me for attention, often settling beside me or asking for pets and kisses. She's happiest when she can choose when it's time to cuddle. **Surya is bonded with her sister, Alaska, and they must be adopted together.** The two girls are very close and even call out to each other with sweet little meows when they can't find one another. Surya and Alaska were born outside near my home, where I provided food, water, and shelter for their family. After they disappeared for a while, Alaska returned alone, and I brought her inside. About a week later, Surya showed up too, and the sisters were reunited! Surya gets along well with other cats and dogs, although we haven't yet seen how she does with children. She and Alaska would love a home where they have room to play, comfortable places to nap, and people who enjoy affectionate cats with a little independence. If you're looking for two sweet sisters who will keep you entertained with their playful antics and fill your home with love, Surya and Alaska would be a wonderful pair! Bernie is still waiting for her forever home. She would do well in so many homes as she’s great with people, cats and dogs. Her foster mom recently took in some kittens (possible Bernie’s kittens) and Bernie immediately started grooming them and almost became like a kitten herself, playing with them. Every now and again we come across a cat who isn’t like other cats, a cat who doesn’t fit any of the molds and whose behavior leaves us puzzled. Peaches is a perfect example. She and several other outdoor cats had been hanging around a warehouse, scavenging for food. She was underweight, skittish and we knew it was only a matter of time before she became pregnant. One of our intrepid fosters felt compelled to help. She managed to trap her along with two other cats, Clementine and Mr. Apple, and introduced them to indoor living. While they have all made huge progress in adapting to their new life, Peaches is still a little wary around people but her body language suggests that, deep down, she really does want to trust them. She follows her foster mom around the house and she loves to play with toys. She will flip over on her back and expose her belly, but quickly recoil when anyone tries to pet her. Peaches enjoys playing games on the kitty iPad and she loves playing with her feline buddies. She’s just not quite ready for a touchy-feely relationship with a human. She is very food motivated and would probably be happiest in a home with one of her feline friends or another young cat. Meet Olive! 🩷Olive is a beautiful 2 1/2 year-old calico looking for a loving forever home. This is an incredibly difficult decision for our family, and our only goal is to find the perfect home for her.Olive is very sweet and affectionate with the people she trusts. She has a strong bond with me and my teenaged daughter, but she has never warmed up to my husband and will hiss and swat at him. My husband will not let my daughter keep her. We believe Olive would be happiest in a calm, quiet home with no small children. She would do best with someone who understands that some cats need time and patience to build trust. Olive is an indoor cat and has never been outside.She took a while to get used to our dog, but will still hiss if she gets too close. Our priority is finding the right match for Olive.
