Every now and again we come across a cat who isn’t like other cats, a cat who doesn’t fit any of the molds and whose behavior leaves us puzzled. Peaches is a perfect example. She and several other outdoor cats had been hanging around a warehouse, scavenging for food. She was underweight, skittish and we knew it was only a matter of time before she became pregnant. One of our intrepid fosters felt compelled to help. She managed to trap her along with two other cats, Clementine and Mr. Apple, and introduced them to indoor living. While they have all made huge progress in adapting to their new life, Peaches is still a little wary around people but her body language suggests that, deep down, she really does want to trust them. She follows her foster mom around the house and she loves to play with toys. She will flip over on her back and expose her belly, but quickly recoil when anyone tries to pet her. Peaches enjoys playing games on the kitty iPad and she loves playing with her feline buddies. She’s just not quite ready for a touchy-feely relationship with a human. She is very food motivated and would probably be happiest in a home with one of her feline friends or another young cat. DMH Female Calico adult Grizabella is an adult cat who came to the rescue pregnant early 2023. She gave birth to 3 beautiful kittens who have all been adopted. Now it is her turn to find her forever home. She is a quiet laid back girl. She enjoys cuddles and head scratches. Her adoption fee is $150. The adoption fee includes spay, microchip, rabies, feline combination vaccines. She is negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Biggie was a skinny little stray who ran across the street & right through our front door! He was so starved for love & attention, all he did for a wk was cuddle nonstop, putting his arms around your neck in a literal hug & purring so much he left puddles of drool ❤️🥹 After 6yrs, he's still the loviest cat I've ever seen! Still hugs your neck (purrs w/o drooling now 🙂) Definitely not skinny anymore! I'm heartbroken to rehome him but I have to move to MO to take care of my brother who just had a heart transplant. His drs say no living with cats (bc of the litter, I think) He's extremely immunocompromised. The slightest infection could kill him. So I have no choice I want to rehome Biggie with Janie bc shes a terrified precious little rescue who still hides probably 80%of the time after 8yrs. She WANTS to be friendly but she's traumatized & can't quite shake the flight instinct! This rehome will be so hard for her😞 but she knows & loves Biggie so it would help so much
