Story
I got Teca when she was nine weeks old from a friend whose cat had a litter. She was the last kitten to be adopted, and I took her in. She has always been very sweet, playful, and a little shy. She does not hiss or scratch, except for accidental scratches during play. Teca is a healthy two-year-old cat who is full of energy and loves attention and playtime. She was recently spayed and has had no health issues. Unfortunately, I am a busy college student working full time, and I am not able to give her the time and attention she deserves. I love her very much and want her to have a home where she can receive more interaction, play, and care.

Story
Teddy — Orange Male Cat, ~2.5 years old, Boston MA Teddy is a big, talkative, deeply affectionate orange cat looking for his person. Easily cared for with dry or wet food. Good with a litter box. Has been kept indoors only. Good with children that are patient with him. Very active. He is a certified doofus. He flops. He falls. It's endearing every single time. We have had him since he was six months as a companion for our older Tabby. Unfortunately, he can be obsessively aggressive with any animals that he can bully, not bad enough to cause injury but it can be stressful to the other animals. This has built up to unhealthy stress for the other cat. He has not expressed this with adult or child humans. And I think he may get along well with a larger calm dog. He can be a shy with strangers, but some churu and gentle care and talking with him and he bonds deeply - becoming extremely cuddly and interactive. We love him a lot and think he would be great in a loving home.

Story
Gale is an active senior who likes to be around people when he is not relaxing in the sun sleeping. He is a grazing eater, self regulating mostly dry food. He loves to be combed and will come sit next to you when you are calm. He has a sister (also up for a new home) but generally they don’t interact anymore. Not sure how he would do with other pets. Best spot for Gale is a home looking for a trained, well behaved pet. He is medically up to date and can be left home alone for 2-3 days with proper water and food.

Story
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Stevie is a sweet 6 year old female spayed cat, looking for a calm home. Here’s what her foster volunteer says about her: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Stevie is an incredibly soft, gentle cat with a very sweet and shy personality. She is quiet and calm by nature and prefers a peaceful environment. While she may take time to feel comfortable, once she settles in she is affectionate and enjoys being near her person. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes, Stevie really enjoys being pet and finds it very comforting. If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? She especially likes being pet on her head and along her back. Gentle, slow pets are her favorite. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? She does not like her belly being brushed or touched and can become uncomfortable if that area is handled. Does the cat come on your lap? No, Stevie does not sit on laps. She prefers to stay close without being directly on top of people. Does the cat like to be held? No, she does not enjoy being held and feels safest when all four paws are on the ground. Does the cat sleep in your bed? No, she does not sleep in the bed and prefers to sleep in her own comfortable, quiet spaces. Does the cat seek your attention? Yes, Stevie does seek attention in her own gentle way. She will come over for pets when she feels comfortable and enjoys calm companionship. Does the cat like to play? No, she is not very playful and has a low energy level. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? She does not show much interest in toys or games very often but sometimes she likes to play with the stick toys with strings and ribbons on the end.  How vocal is the cat? Stevie is mildly vocal. She may meow during the day, but not very often or very loudly. What kinds of sounds does the cat make? She primarily meows softly. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? No. If no, please explain. She has a scratching post on her cat tree but does not typically use it. Does the cat always use the litter box? She uses pee pads consistently. If no, please explain. Stevie always uses her pee pads. If there are any accidents, they are usually due to debris getting caught in her long hair rather than a behavioral issue. She does have hairballs on the floor fairly regularly. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Stevie eats dry food that is left out for her to snack on throughout the day and is refilled nightly. Is the cat picky about food? She is not picky and eats her regular food well. What is the cat's favorite treat? She sometimes enjoys Churus as well as wet food or cat soup as an occasional treat. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No, she has never swatted. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Stevie is extremely fearful of new people. She is most comfortable when the home is quiet and it is just her and her caregiver present. When others are around, she prefers to keep to herself and should have a quiet, safe space to retreat to. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? She has not been observed with other animals, so her compatibility with pets is unknown. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Stevie is incredibly cute, gentle, and sweet. Once she becomes comfortable, she is a wonderful presence to have around and makes a calm, soothing companion. She would be perfect for someone who appreciates a quiet, affectionate cat. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? Stevie’s biggest challenge is her fear of new people and loud noises, so she needs a quiet, calm home. She also has long fur that is prone to matting and does not like being brushed.   To learn more about adopting this cat in Massachusetts, please visit www.blackcatrescue.com or fill out an Adoption Profile at https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston.  January 27, 2026, 9:58 am

Story
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Sparrow is a sweet 10 month old neutered male kitten, looking for a home with a feline playmate. Here’s what his foster volunteer says about him after just 2 weeks in foster care: How would you describe the cat's general personality? He is the sweetest boy in the world. He is a bit jumpy, so no loud noises. But he loves to be pet, and he will bury his head into your hand if you put it out near him. I've never seen a cat so innocent and loving before. Even when he was the most scared, he never hissed and still would come for pets. He loves other cats, so whoever adopts him should have at least 1 friendly cat that is very active and loves to play with other cats, as this really helps to bring him out of his shell. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? everywhere! But especially his head area. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? No Does the cat come on your lap? No Does the cat like to be held? No Does the cat sleep in your bed? No, he sleeps on the cat tree or behind my desk mostly. Does the cat seek your attention? Yes, he will meow until he gets it. Does the cat like to play? He LOVES to play What are the cat's favorite games and toys? The toy that has different levels where you can push the ball around and watch it go in a circle. How vocal is the cat? He is vocal What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Meow Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes If no, please explain. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes If no, please explain. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? I leave out a bunch of dry food (kitten, its the purina pro one), and he gets one can of wet food (fancy feast kitten) Is the cat picky about food? Yes, extremely. He prefers the dry food, and even then, it isn't his favorite. What is the cat's favorite treat? Delectables the churu looking version. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? Never Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? Never Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Yes, but not ever with bad intent, it is just him playing Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? Never To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Fearful at first, but still super sweet. He will hide but if you stick your hand near him he will go into it and ask for pets. After a few days, he completely warms up.   If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? He LOVES cats, I have never seen him with another type of animal. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? It is also so adorable seeing him try to get my cat to play at all times. I have a baby gate that separates them and he learned to jump over it because he loves being with him so much. He is also really good at listening; he somehow knows what I mean when I tell him to go to his room, and he listens pretty much every time. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? This cat is a dream cat. Genuinely I wish I could keep him myself, and if I had the resources to I 100% would have. He is a very easy going cat who loves attention, even when he is terrified.  What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them?  - he is a bit fearful at times, so he would be best in a house that isn't too loud. Also, he would probably do best with no small kids. He needs someone that can give him space at first to warm up and build trust with him. - he absolutely loves other cats, so he needs to go to a home that has another playful and friendly cat to help him be less scared - this isn't necessarily a challenge, but he isn't food motivated, so that is something to be aware of.   To learn more about adopting this cat in Massachusetts, please visit www.blackcatrescue.com or fill out an Adoption Profile at https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston.  February 14, 2026, 10:58 am
