Story
Calling all heroes! We`d like to introduce a very special cat named Mia. She is a 2 year old cat, and has a discordant case of FeLV, or Feline Leukemia Virus which may shorten her lifespan, and we are hoping to find her a loving indoor-only home where she can live out her life. Despite her diagnosis, she is social and affectionate with those she knows. Mia would need to be the only cat in the household. Interested adopters should click the inquire button below to learn more and shelter staff will provide additional counseling on FeLV and answer any questions at the time of adoption. More info on FeLV can be found here: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951934

Story
Meet Moo Moo! Moo Moo is more of a `look, don`t touch` kind of girl- which is totally fine becuase she is as stunning as she is sassy! Moo Moo loves wand toys, and loves to play! She`s been known to reward a play session with bunts and petting herself on you- but she makes it very clear she`s the one to do the petting! She also enjoys a good snack, and will remind you it`s meal time with super cute chirps. If you`re looking for a new queen for your castle, Moo Moo just might be the lady for you!

Calling all heroes! We`d like to introduce a very special cat named Bob. He is a three year old playful cat that loves getting pet, playing with toys, and has a regressive case of FeLV, or Feline Leukemia Virus which may shorten his lifespan, and we are hoping to find him a loving indoor-only home where he can live out his life. Despite his diagnosis, he is a social and affectionate cat with just about all humans! Bob would need to be the only cat in the household, or have feline friends that also have FeLV. Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Trisha is a petite young girl (who asks you to not judge how large her profile photo makes her look). She came to us from a complicated 17 cat neglect situation, and while she’s quite curious and playful, she does not yet trust humans to get close enough for pets. She’s very nice about it, and definitely likes people enough to follow them around and inspect what they’re doing. She’ll happily hang out in a room with you, and we think once she spends enough time with her Future Person, she’ll end up being a touch-loving girl. Trisha says she would enjoy living with other friendly cats that can show her the ropes, but no bossy rude cats please - she’s too tiny and too much of a pushover. She’s gentle enough for young kids, but their noise might be too scary for her. No dogs, please.  Every PALS cat and kitten has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on vaccinations. A note about kittens: if you are adopting a kitten, they may need to complete their FVRCP (distemper) series and may not be old enough for their rabies vaccination. These essential vaccines will be the responsibility of their new owner. Detailed vet records and a calendar of vaccination due dates will be provided. The PALS Adoption Center, located inside PetSmart at 10 Traders Way in Salem, MA (just off Highland Ave/Rte 107) BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TO APPROVED ADOPTERS.  Adoption applications can be found online at www.palscats.org.  A completed application is not necessarily an approved application. We do ask for written landlord approval if you rent, or proof of home ownership (water bill, etc.) We will also check your vet references.  You will be contacted by our adoption staff once your application has been approved.  Please note it can take up to 48 hours. Our online sites are updated regularly, but we can not guarantee that a cat you see here is still available. Please email if you have any questions regarding the adoption process or our available cats and kittens. PALS is an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue group. Each and every cat and kitten has been rescued locally. May 22, 2026, 2:45 pm

Story
Bernard came to us from a complicated 17 cat neglect situation, and immediately decided that he loves human companionship. He’s picky about how he wants to be pet, and will gently tell you if you’re doing it “incorrectly,” and because of this we think a home with no young kids is best. His perfect day consists of following you around with big rumbly purrs, and sitting next to you wherever you settle in.   And that cute floppy ear? He has a previous history of ear infections, so he likely has this signature flop forever. He might be prone to ear infections in the future, but he’s been happily in the clear for a while now! Bernard is okay with other cats, but will give you the saddest face in the world if you’re petting someone more than him, and we think he’d be his Best Self as a solo guy.
