Story
Aki is a great cat who is very low maintenance. He is usually relaxed and enjoys a good head and cheek rub, but can nip a little when overstimulated. We adopted Aki as a kitten 6 years ago from a barn litter up in Maine with the intent to have him be an indoor/outdoor cat. This has been great for him as he likes the outdoors and does not need to use the litter box during the spring, fall and winter. The problem that has arisen this summer is that he has become an extremely avid hunter. While this has been terrific for controlling rats and mice, he will often range into all of our nearby neighbors' yards and leave a substantial number of dead rabbits behind. We would love to keep him here but we know he would be unhappy as an indoor cat. We're looking for a home where he could happily roam outside with more room to keep from traumatizing the neighbors.

Story
Loki is a sweetheart with me, loves to play, really loves treats, and will roll over for belly rubs, which is rare with cats! But he does not get along with his sister, and the fights have escalated over the years despite putting him on Prozac and getting him an exercise wheel (which he does like to use) and more play time. But even watching birds out the window gets him wound up, and he redirects that energy on his sibling cat. He needs a home with no other pets. He is very intelligent and curious and explores everywhere, but at age 7 he isn't getting into as much mischief as he did as a kitten. He is neutered and chipped, and very well litter-box trained; he has never sprayed anywhere, ever.I think he would be a great cat for someone who loves a beautiful ginger tabby and has no other pets or small children. He is friendly, but not sure about kids. He might make a good indoor/outdoor cat if this were done carefully. I feel like my small place was stress-inducing for him :(

Athena & Blossom: 14 year old Sisters, Need a New Home TogetherWe're looking to rehome our two cats, Athena and Blossom, due to family member's allergies. These two are sisters who have been together their entire lives. with us, in our home. We're hoping to find them a home where they can stay together. Both cats are healthy, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. They're easygoing and low-maintenance companions who enjoy a bit of attention, but they're just as content relaxing independently nearby. They'd do best in a calm, quiet home where they can settle into a peaceful routine together. If you're looking for mellow, affectionate sisters who won't demand constant engagement, Athena and Blossom could be a wonderful fit.

Story
Grey – Available for Adoption Grey is a sweet, funny little guy with a distinctive smudge on his face. He has taken his time to come out of his shell—almost literally! He was friendly from the start of his fostering but only from inside his little soft ‘house’. . .like a snail he practically carried his ‘house’ around from inside it! But he so loved human pets that he welcomed head scratches from inside his house. His need for a sense of security is understandable, given that the home he knew consistently for over 8 years ended suddenly on the passing of his human. He has come a long way since his days or receiving pets from inside his little house. Now Grey is a lot more comfortable with his new foster. He purrs instead of hisses when approached. When guests are over, he hides from them which is understandable - new people are scary! But when it’s just Grey and his foster mom, he’s confident to explore the apartment and sometimes shares a couch with the resident cat. He’s quite playful with his toys and runs pretty fast too! Grey is especially affectionate around mealtimes, getting up on his hind legs and rubbing against his foster. He loves being pet especially on his head! Grey’s purr’fect home would be a quiet one without a lot of comings & goings. He will likely do OK with a calm, friendly resident kitty. He prefers to be on his own, but probably won’t mind sharing a home with another kitty. Grey is approximately 9 years old, neutered and negative for FeLV and FIV. Story
Lychee – Available for Adoption Hi, my name is Lychee! 🤍 I'm sweet and delightful, just like the fruit I'm named after. I was found during a heatwave by a kind neighbor who rescued me from the scorching temperatures and the dangers of living on the streets. I'd been wandering around on my own for quite a while, and thanks to her kindness, I finally got a second chance. A wonderful veterinarian helped me feel so much better, and now I'm safe indoors with my loving foster paw’rents. My tummy is full, my heart is healing, and I'm so grateful to know what it feels like to be cared for. Now all I'm missing is my happily ever after. I love gentle pets, soft brushing sessions, and giving little nose boops to the people I trust. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will happily keep you company and fill your home with love, I might just be the perfect match. Will you be my forever family? 🩷 Lychee is approximately 6 years old, spayed, negative for FeLV and FIV and up-to-date on all her shots. If you are interested in meeting her, contact Boston's Forgotten Felines on Facebook or at catadoptions@bostonsforgottenfelines.org
