Benny – Available for Adoption
UPDATE FROM FOSTER:
“Benny continues to be a very entertaining companion. Being relatively young, he has lots of energy -- far more than I 🙁 . He likes his catnip fishie and could chase the feather wand for hours, but I can only manage to swing it for him for a few minutes at a time. He is very athletic and leaps and twists and turns, trying the catch the feathers. I'm usually faster, but make sure that he catches it often enough so that he's not discouraged. BFF found him an amazing rechargeable interactive toy and he loves it. He finds it endlessly entertaining and will sit beside it waiting for me to turn it on for him, so that he can attack that feather wand and that butterfly. I think that Benny's ideal home would include a feline buddy with whom he can roughhouse and wrestle.
In his quieter moments he can look a very elegant gentleman. He enjoys sitting on the back of the sofa where he can watch the world outside, but he usually ends up just being silly. He's very entertaining indeed.”
Benny is a very handsome gentleman, but he doesn't much like posing, so when he sees the camera, he twists and squiggles and makes faces. He's been in foster care for a bit and he's settling in nicely, taking over his foster’s sofa and chair in the study and is quickly becoming a lap cat, watching the Red Sox on TV.
Benny is positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) so he will need to be an only kitty, unless he moves into a home that has other friendly FeLV kitties or friendly kitties who have the FeLV vaccine. FeLV is a contagious retrovirus that infects cats. It weakens the feline immune system, making cats highly susceptible to severe infections, anemia, and certain cancers like lymphoma. While there is no cure, the virus cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs.
