Story
All-white Bruno and tuxedo Troy are a pair of six-year-old bonded brothers who lost their home due to an eviction. Naturally, they were traumatized by this turn of events-- after all, cats don't know anything about rent or evictions, nor would it have been any easier on them if they had-- but they have learned that their foster mom is being nice to them and helping them on the road to emotional recovery. Like most cats, they would be happiest in an interactive household where they get lots of attention and play. We have not observed them with kids or dogs, but we think they would probably do well with pretty much anyone who knows how to treat a cat respectfully. Because they are a bonded pair, we will not consider adopting them separately-- they even groom each other. We think Bruno might be partly deaf, possibly completely deaf, but this does not affect his day-to-day life. Bruno and Troy strike a comfortable balance between independence and attachment. They are easy cats who would make a wonderful match for a first-time adopter.  They have been neutered, are current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. Their adopter will receive their medical records. They're being fostered in Gardner. Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. In their case, the adoption fee has been substantially reduced to $240 to facilitate a quick adoption-- a bargain for a pair of new best friends who will be devoted companions for life. Cats can live up to 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please respond with a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Including your phone number is likely to lead to a faster response. Doing so helps us match cats with the right adopters.

Story
My name is Quinoa and I’m a sweet tuxedo girl with a funny face who’s ready to find my forever home. Soon after I arrived in foster care, even while still adapting to my new environment, I actively sought out human affection, companionship, and laps. I’m absolutely into chin scritches and I love to play with the humans and the other cats in my foster home. If you adopt me, I’ll make it my business to make sure you feel loved 24/7. I’m a very social girl, so if you’re away for typical work hours, I should have at least one other cat to keep me company. Even if you’ve never had a cat before, I promise I’ll make it easy for you.I’m a spayed female cat, a little over a year old and my shots are up to date. Story
My name is Froggy and this is my brother Tucker. Wait, maybe I’m Tucker and this is my brother Froggy. The thing is, we look so much alike, sometimes we can’t even tell ourselves apart. We’re both brown tabbies, about two years old, both larger than average, and we need a home with someone who will love us. We eat, play and sleep together. It took a while for us to open up but our personalities are shining through. We greet our foster mom at the door when she comes in and we’ll do the same for you if you adopt us. We’ll curl up with you while you watch TV, and at least one of us will probably be on your lap. Our favorite toys are ribbon and strings- knitters beware. When we are left alone, we play tag with the energy of two small tornadoes. Whoever adopts us will need to be patient with us, but we'll be worth it because we will love you for the rest of our lives. Our adoption fee has even been discounted to facilitate us getting adopted together. We are neutered males and our shots are up to date. We are being fostered in Revere. Story
Welcome to the chaos of Tweety.Four-year-old Tweety was surrendered by people who never bothered to take her to the vet after she had given birth to her umpteenth litter of kittens. They gave “having too many cats” as the reason for their surrender of her. Although Tweety likes to be around people, and even to initiate contact, it must be her initiation. Certain behaviors, such as wariness at being approached for petting by hands coming from above, being even more startled than most cats by sudden noises and movements, or guardedness around feet, make us suspect she may have experienced abuse in her past, such as by being struck or kicked. It does not stretch the imagination that people who would neglect her as she had been neglected might also abuse her. As Tweety becomes more accustomed to her foster home, she seems to have a penchant for getting into mischief, such as playing with water, sometimes making a mess. Tweety is inclined toward athleticism more consistent with that of a kitten rather than an adult: she zooms, jumps, and likes to climb, so a home with multi-level cat towers and cat shelves would be ideal for her. She has a high play drive and enjoys toys that she can chase and catch-- it’s almost as if she were part Bengal. Tweety is also intelligent and quickly figured out the treat-dispenser puzzle her fosters got for her. We have not observed Tweety with other cats and dogs, but her high energy level suggests that a home with other animals as playmates would be a good match for her. Given her rough style of play and fearful reaction to sudden movements, we do not recommend a home with the bustle of young children. Tweety is a little girl with a big personality who would do best adopted by someone experienced enough with cats to comprehend her quirks. She will be worth it.She has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. Her adopter will receive her medical records. She’s being fostered in Melrose. Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. In Tweety's case, that adoption fee has been reduced by more than half to a mere $95-- a bargain for a new best friend. Cats can live past 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please respond by saying a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps us match cats with the right adopters. Story
Every once in a while, we as rescuers come across situations that make us shake our heads even more than usual. Hannah came from one of those situations. Once upon a time, there was a woman who had 11 kittens. For some reason, she thought it would be a good idea to keep those kittens in dog cages --two-three per cage-- in her garage for the first year of their lives. They are all out, and they all did surprisingly well. Hannah has shown herself to have a disposition as sweet as her name. She can get along well with other cats who respect her space if properly introduced. We can certainly give you pointers about that. Despite her rough start, she’s playful, friendly, and wonderfully well adjusted. Hannah loves attention, enjoys playtime, and quickly bonds with those who show her kindness. She is a combination of sweetness and independence who loves human company and purrs warmly when petted. We have not observed her with dogs or kids; we think she'd do well with dogs or kids who know how to treat cats respectfully. Hannah should be adopted into an interactive home where she'll get lots of attention and won't be left unaccompanied for long hours. Hannah is an adorable little sweetheart with a personality that will fill any home with warmth, love, and fun. She's an easy cat who would be suitable for a first-time adopter.Hannah has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. Her adopter will receive her full medical records. She’s being fostered in Brookline.  Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits.  There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. Cats can live up to 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please respond by saying a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps us match cats with the right adopters. Including your phone number is likely to lead to a faster response.
