Story
Linden is looking for a safe place to feel at home. He hisses when we pet him. He will likely hide most of the time and not be any trouble. He will do great in a cozy house or a cozy barn. He likes his food and water. He likes his pillow and laying in the sunshine. He was banged up so he cannot go back to his former home. If you are interested in rescuing this handsome boy, So far, he ignores the cats and dog in the house. He is neutered, has his shots and blood tests are clean. contact Jill at 978-969-2389 or dsajill@yahoo.com

Story
Mario does not think he's a cat. He thinks he is a baby, and needs to be loved and snuggled all the time. He will even sit in a pocketbook and do errands with you, or go for a walk off-leash. He is literally the best cat in the world- except for that he pees in his sleep. I suspect he is having seizures and this could be easily fixed because he uses the litter box fine while he is awake! He had a very high fever at 5 weeks old and miraculously survived but I believe it left him with this issue, and we just don't have the money to spend on testing and medications etc. If you are able to get him the help he needs, he would be the perfect cat.

Story
This regal gentleman is Ozzie and he is looking for a forever home. Ozzie is a loving 2-year old male cat. He is neutered, healthy, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. He is completely black with brown highlights. Ozzie is great with adults. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to get along with my elderly cats despite slow introductions and patience. Because of this, I sadly need to rehome him as a last resort. Ozzie still has kitten energy. He loves to jump to high places and gets zoomies at night. He loves to chase his mouse and wand toys. He loves to be around people, and follow them around the house. He goes wild for Temptations lick treats, and is learning some skills with a clicker (he’s just a bit impatient for the treat rewards!) He has great litter box habits, and uses cardboard scratchers and a scratching post. He nips when he doesn’t like something. He doesn’t like to be picked up. That being said, Ozzie LOVES to cuddle on his own terms, which is very frequently! He will climb on my lap almost anytime I’m sitting on my bed. He sleeps with me every night, and cuddles up several times a night. He gives hugs and curls up with his head under my chin! He just has a secret timer, and when cuddle time is done, he’s gotta go…but he’ll be back soon! I know that with the right home Ozzie will thrive. Contact Jill at 978-500-6079 or dsajill1@yahoo.com for more information about adopting Ozzie. (We also have a tabby named Ozzy so please specify black Ozzie.)

Story
I snuggle on "my" desk chair with my foster man, perch in the windows of my sunporch to keep and eye on those squirrels, play with my toys, allow my foster woman to love on me and I enjoy treats very much! Churros are my favorite beacause I can play with the wrapper afterward. I prefer a quiet home as strangers are scary to me. And I cuddle with both my foster man and women now. My ideal person is a soft spoken man who has the time to spend with me and realize when I'm ready for some space. I learned to trust and love on my foster mom too! I prefer to be the only pet in the home, but may get used to other cats with a slow introduction. I am a very good girl who is learning to trust. Story
Bernard came to us from a complicated 17 cat neglect situation, and immediately decided that he loves human companionship. He’s picky about how he wants to be pet, and will gently tell you if you’re doing it “incorrectly,” and because of this we think a home with no young kids is best. His perfect day consists of following you around with big rumbly purrs, and sitting next to you wherever you settle in.   And that cute floppy ear? He has a previous history of ear infections, so he likely has this signature flop forever. He might be prone to ear infections in the future, but he’s been happily in the clear for a while now! Bernard is okay with other cats, but will give you the saddest face in the world if you’re petting someone more than him, and we think he’d be his Best Self as a solo guy.   Every PALS cat and kitten has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on vaccinations. A note about kittens: if you are adopting a kitten, they may need to complete their FVRCP (distemper) series and may not be old enough for their rabies vaccination. These essential vaccines will be the responsibility of their new owner. Detailed vet records and a calendar of vaccination due dates will be provided. The PALS Adoption Center, located inside PetSmart at 10 Traders Way in Salem, MA (just off Highland Ave/Rte 107) BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TO APPROVED ADOPTERS.  Adoption applications can be found online at www.palscats.org.  A completed application is not necessarily an approved application. We do ask for written landlord approval if you rent, or proof of home ownership (water bill, etc.) We will also check your vet references.  You will be contacted by our adoption staff once your application has been approved.  Please note it can take up to 48 hours. Our online sites are updated regularly, but we can not guarantee that a cat you see here is still available. Please email if you have any questions regarding the adoption process or our available cats and kittens. PALS is an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue group. Each and every cat and kitten has been rescued locally. September 1, 2026, 8:42 pm
