Story
Introducing Waffles, the adorable 3-year-old, 30lb pup who's as unique as her name suggests! While her appearance may puzzle even the keenest of observers, one thing's for sure: she's a delightful blend of charm and character. Waffles is a sweetheart with a mellow and quiet demeanor, preferring the tranquility of laying at your feet over any commotion. She's a well-mannered companion who sits on command and takes treats gently from your hand. With her gentle nature, Waffles doesn't jump on people but instead, greets them with a wagging tail and a warm heart. She's excellent on a leash, making walks a joyous affair. Waffles is good with kids and cats, but she would prefer to be the only dog in the home, as she can sometimes show aggression towards other dogs. Despite this, she ignores them when they're in the yard side by side. As a precaution, she's best suited to a home where she can be the sole furry friend. Waffles is full of love and ready to find her forever family who will cherish her just as she is.

Story
They never asked to be in the situation humans put them in and they are just begging for a shred of comfort, that’s why we fight for every last one of them.  Ready for peace and love in 2024?  Why not adopt a new best friend to spend time with and love forever? Meet Peace!    I t is so hard to believe this sweet girl has not been swooped up for adoption! She is now one of our Diamond Dogs, which are the pets we highlight as the Diamond in the Ruff seeking their forever home. Her adoption fee has been reduced to $125. Scared and alone mother -to- be Peace was abandoned at the shelter  by her owner about to give birth any minute, she delivered four adorable babies four days later on November 25th, Compassion, Forgiveness, Empathy and Connection. The shelter put out a desperate plea for rescue so her babies could be in a warm loving home with their mother. A cold loud shelter is no place for a young family. LHS knew we had to help and stepped up to rescue this sweet mama and her family.     This adorable family has been amazing, and it is now time for them to find forever families to love them. Peace is a beautiful female Chihuahua/Terrier mix with soft fluffy black fur that weighs 19lbs. and is 3 years old.  She is house and crate trained and loves to sleep in her fluffy bed when she is taking a break from being an amazing mom. Peace is super smart and very  sweet; she gets along with all people and other dogs and is great on a leash and loves to ride in the car for adventures. She has weaned her precious babies and is ready to find a family of her very own to  love. Peace is looking for a family where she will be a member of the family forever. If you are looking for a new family member and think Peace might be the one, please complete an application on our website and her foster mom will be in touch.  The adoption fee is $125.00. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She tested positive for heartworms and received a Proheart12 injection. She will be retested for heartworms in 12 months.  Please apply at: http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Charlie Chalupa is a Chi mix that weights 16lbs and almost 8 years old.  He was adopted 7 years ago and with the change in the family dynamics, they are traveling non-stop and do not have the time to give Charlie the care and attention he deserves. They reached out to LHS for assistance placing him in a home where he doesn't have to be in board a majority of the time.  He enjoys running around the backyard and playing fetch. He loves to play with his doggie friend and is respectful of kitties as well.  Snuggling in your lap and napping with you is really his favorite thing to do though!  He is crate trained and house broken. Charlie is up to date on vaccinations, current on rabies, has been neutered, micro chipped and is heartworm negative.  He is available to go to his new furever family now. If you are interested in adopting Charlie Chalupa please complete an application through http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from the foster parent regarding your application.   DOB: 5/01/2016 Weight: 16.5lbs We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. 🐕❤ ADOPT SISSY ❤🐕 Sissy is the sweetest and cutest little girl. She loves to play with her furry foster siblings and is a silly pup. She is nervous when meeting new people and will need a little time to settle into a new home, but she wants a family of her own more than anything. Please consider adding this adorable little nugget to your family. ADOPTION APPLICATION: www.tinyurl.com/IADRAdoptionApp ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Story
Sweet Denali has been with the rescue for over 2 yrs and has yet to find his forever home! He is an 8 1/2 year old Chihuahua mix weighing only 11.7 lbs. When he joined the rescue he battled IBS, but thankfully after months of doctors visits and trying different medications he has been symptom free!  He is eating regular dog food softend due to the amount of teeth he has but enjoys a good meal without any tummy issues.  For precautions due to history, we do limit his food to no people food or excesive treats.  He loves walks, car rides, people and sunnying. Denali is great with other dogs, cats and everyone he meets. He will still occasionally potty in the house, but wearing a belly band in the home is a simple solution to protecting the carpet! This boy is so deserving of a forever home. Apply to adopt Denali at www.rescuerowinc.org Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a home check Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##1236917##

Story
Meet Raven! Raven is an 1 years old and weighs 26 lbs. Per Wisdom Panel she is a mix of 19 different breeds! The top 5 breeds are Chihuahua, Golden Retriever, Border Collie, Miniature American Shepherd and American Pit Bull Terrierr. Her estimated adult weight is between 26-44 lbs. Currenlty she weighs 26 lbs. Sadly, Raven and her siblings were dumped during an ice storm. She is everything a puppy should be-- sweet, snuggly and spunky! Raven can be shy and timid when meeting new people and in new situations, but it doesn't take her long to warm up! She is learning to trust and just needs a little time. This girl loves to play with other dogs and would be excited to find a family that has another pup that enjoys playing and can show her the ropes.
