Story
Meet Lainey! This 1.5 year old Chihuahua mix is a little bit shy, a whole lot quirky, and super sweet. Lainey came from a hoarding type situation, so she can be cautious at first — but once she trusts you, she’s all cuddles and love. She’s calm by nature but will surprise you with her happy zoomies when she feels safe and free. With her soulful eyes, long legs, and gentle personality, she’s impossible not to fall for. Lainey is crate trained, seems to be potty trained, and gets along great with other dogs. She’d do best in a patient home with older kids or adults who can give her the space to blossom. Also, Lainey would do best in a home with other canine companions to help her settle in and learn "how to dog". If you’re looking for a sweet little shadow to love and be loved by, Lainey’s your girl!

Story
Meet Stanley – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Home. Stanley is a shy, sweet gentleman who’s ready to start the next chapter of his life—with a little help from a loving, patient family. This 3 to 4-year-old Chi/pug mix is fully vaccinated, crate-trained, and potty-trained. He’s got wonderful manners and a calm presence, but he’s a bit reserved at first and needs time to feel safe and secure in new surroundings. Once he knows you’re one of the good ones, Stanley’s gentle affection begins to shine. He gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a quieter home with older kids who understand the beauty of earning a shy dog’s trust. Stanley tested heartworm positive, but he’s already completed his treatment and is now heartworm free!! All he needs from you is a safe space and a heart open to a slower, more thoughtful bond. If you believe in second chances and quiet companionship, Stanley might just be the gentleman you’ve been waiting for. Email info@habitat4paws.org for an application or fill out the application on our website. **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the How it Works page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.**

Story
These two sweet boys are a bonded pair, so we are looking for a home where they can stay together. They do great with other small dogs, so a home with additional small canine friends would be a great fit. Here’s what their foster mom has to say: “Leo is the smaller of the two and full of energy—he loves playing with all the dogs. His brother, Milo, is a sweet boy who never says no to a treat! Milo is very attached to Leo and will cry when they’re apart. Both are potty and crate trained, though Milo may mark his territory occasionally.” Leo and Milo are 5 year old Chihuahua mixes. If you’re ready to welcome this adorable duo into your home, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2487807##

Story
Beau came back to rescue when he lost his human. He is a loving little guy who wants to devote himself to someone and be a cuddlebug again. He lives with other dogs, and although he will not play with them, he is fine around them. He would like to be the only dog in his forever home, though he would not mind having a cat to share with. While he is not house or crate trained, he will use potty pads, primarily because in his previous home, his senior mom had him use them instead of going outside most of the time. He used only to eat human food, but we have him on Fresh Pet now, and he looks forward to his meals and treats.Beau walks well on a leash and is good about going for a ride, so he would be fine as a travel companion, but is okay when he has to stay home. At home, he likes to bundle himself in a blanket and lie back, waiting to be cuddled. He is fully vetted- current with vaccines, neutered, micro chipped, and on flea/tick and heartwormprevention.

Story
Meet Nina – A Tiny Soul with a Huge Heart Sweet little Nina is an 8-year-old Chihuahua who has already endured more heartbreak than any pup should. When her elderly mom passed away, no one in the family stepped up to take her in. Instead, Nina was left scared and alone at a shelter — confused, grieving, and carrying a tumor on her tummy. Her world had fallen apart. Just when hope seemed lost and time was running out, a plea went out to save her from euthanasia… and Legacy Humane Society answered. They stepped in to change her story — to heal her broken heart and give her the second chance she so deeply deserves. At just 14 pounds, Nina is the perfect little lap companion with a heart full of love. X-rays showed that her cancer hadn’t spread (the best news ever!), and her tumors have now been successfully removed. She’s on the road to recovery — both physically and emotionally — and she’s blossoming into the sweet, gentle girl she was always meant to be. Nina can be a little cautious when meeting new people — and she might show a bit of Chihuahua sass at first — but once she knows you’re safe and kind, her walls melt away. That’s when her true self shines: a devoted little snuggler who just wants to be close to her person and feel loved again. She is looking for an adult only home. Nina dreams of a forever home where she’ll never be left behind again — where soft beds, kind hands, and gentle hearts surround her every day. She still has so much love to give… could you be the one to show her that happily ever after's really do come true? If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Nina, please reach out to Legacy Humane Society today by completing an application and her foster mom will be in touch. The adoption fee is $275.00 and covers her spay, vaccinations, de-wormer, first dose of heartworm preventative and microchip. She is heartworm negative.  Please apply at: http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Nina is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, Heartworm Negative and Microchipped.  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
