Story
My name is Otter and my fosters love me a lotter! That's because I am such a snuggle bug and lap dog. I am learning so much in my foster home, like the doggie door, house training and crate training. I was scared of the other dogs at first, but now I am friends with everyone. I love to wrestle and play chase with small dogs my size, Usually I have a toy or nylabone nearby because I discovered just how awesome those things are! I usually hang out where ever you are and am a great office assistant for my foster mom who works from home. And the sweetest thing about me is I make myself at home in your lap whenever I get the chance. I probably need a little more leash training, but other than that, I am ready to find my furever home!

Leo is a spunky, happy 5 1/2 year old, 13 lb, Chihuahua mix who has been patiently waiting for his forever home. He does well with other small dogs and is both potty and crate trained. He enjoys going for walks, cuddling on a lap and loves spending time with his people. Leo would love a small playful companion in his forever home. Leo is looking for an adult only home. If you’re interested in adopting or meeting this sweet boy, you can apply at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2487807##

Story
Here’s an update from Milo’s foster: “Milo is settling in well! He doesn’t show much interest in the other dogs and prefers to stay close to me, he’s truly my little shadow. He has been super sweet and loves curling up on my lap and looks forward to our daily walks. He does seem to prefer women and has been cautious around my husband, occasionally growling, but will allow him to pet him.” Milo’s ideal home would be with a female adopter who is home most of the time or works from home. He does not need another dog in the home, but would do fine with another small dog who isn’t interested in playing. He whines when he is first crated, but settles down quickly. He prefers a quiet environment, so an adult only home is ideal for Milo. Milo is a 5 1/2 year old, 15 lb, Chihuahua mix. If you are interested in adopting Milo, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. Story
Meet Dewey! Dewey is a 5-year-old apple head Chihuahua with a gentle soul and a heart full of love, despite the difficult start he’s had. He came into the shelter severely underweight after not being properly fed, but this tiny boy has proven he’s a resilient little fighter. Since coming into foster care, Dewey has been on a carefully monitored feeding plan and is already making great progress toward a healthy weight. He’s been seen by our vet and has a medical plan in place to support his recovery every step of the way. With proper care, good nutrition, and lots of love, Dewey is truly blossoming. What makes Dewey so special isn’t just his resilience—it’s his incredibly sweet and affectionate nature. He absolutely LOVES to snuggle and will happily curl up in your lap any chance he gets. He’s crate-trained, house-trained, and gets along well with other dogs. Even more endearing, Dewey seeks out affection from every person he meets—he just wants to love and be loved. Dewey is up to date on vaccines, has been treated for heartworms, and is microchipped. His neuter is covered by Legacy Humane Society—we’re just giving him a few weeks to gain a bit more weight before his surgery. Dewey is looking for a patient, compassionate family who will continue helping him regain his strength while giving him the forever home he’s always deserved. In return, he promises to be your most loyal little companion. If you think you might be the person to make that special connection and give Dewey the loving home he’s been waiting for, please complete an application at legacyhumanesociety.org, and his foster mom will be in touch. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.
