Story
Meet Stanley – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Home. Stanley is a shy, sweet gentleman who’s ready to start the next chapter of his life—with a little help from a loving, patient family. This 3 to 4-year-old Chi/pug mix is fully vaccinated, crate-trained, and potty-trained. He’s got wonderful manners and a calm presence, but he’s a bit reserved at first and needs time to feel safe and secure in new surroundings. Once he knows you’re one of the good ones, Stanley’s gentle affection begins to shine. He gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a quieter home with older kids who understand the beauty of earning a shy dog’s trust. Stanley tested heartworm positive, but he’s already completed his treatment and is now heartworm free!! All he needs from you is a safe space and a heart open to a slower, more thoughtful bond. If you believe in second chances and quiet companionship, Stanley might just be the gentleman you’ve been waiting for. Email info@habitat4paws.org for an application or fill out the application on our website. **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the How it Works page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.**

Story
These two sweet boys are a bonded pair, so we are looking for a home where they can stay together. They do great with other small dogs, so a home with additional small canine friends would be a great fit. Here’s what their foster mom has to say: “Leo is the smaller of the two and full of energy—he loves playing with all the dogs. His brother, Milo, is a sweet boy who never says no to a treat! Milo is very attached to Leo and will cry when they’re apart. Both are potty and crate trained, though Milo may mark his territory occasionally.” Leo and Milo are 5 year old Chihuahua mixes. If you’re ready to welcome this adorable duo into your home, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2487807##

Story
Bono is a 1 year old, 18-lb Chihuahua mix who has settled nicely into his foster home. He has come a long way since his arrival and continues to make steady, heartwarming progress. Bono is a quiet, observant little guy who is learning what it means to live comfortably indoors. As his confidence grows, so does his trust—he now seeks out cuddles from his foster parents and clearly enjoys their affection. He currently lives with two medium-sized dogs. While Bono doesn’t initiate play with them, he does like to join in when they are playing. Because of this we feel that Bono would love to have another small dog in his forever home. One of Bono’s big milestones is learning to walk on his own to go outside for potty breaks instead of being carried. He takes his time coming back inside after finishing his business, unless it’s dark—then he’s happy to head indoors, where he clearly feels safe. Bono  hasn’t had any potty accidents and sleeps quietly through the night, snuggled in his cozy bed. Bono is a gentle soul who is blossoming with patience, consistency, and love. He will thrive in a calm home that allows him to continue building confidence at his own pace—and rewards his progress with cuddles, comfort, and kindness. Story
Whitney has healed from her spay and is ready to start searching for her forever home! Here is what her foster family has to say about her “When Whitney first joined us, she spent 24 hours in her kennel on a food and bathroom strike. Looking at her now, it’s hard to believe it’s the same dog. She is one of the most sweet and affectionate dogs (emphasis on affectionate). She’s all about tail wags, giving kisses, and being pet. If we’re hanging out on the couch, she’s right there with us, more often than not on someone’s lap. She’s a great little snuggler. Whitney is also great with our other dogs and fosters. Introductions were a breeze, and over time she’s started to play with the ones around her size. She’s the type of dog who will do best adjusting to a new home with the help of another dog, so we’re requiring at least one other smaller pup in her forever home (bonus points if they can be an eventual playmate for her). Whitney also likes to play with toys. It’s been sweet to watch her figure them out and see which toys she likes since she’s never had them before. We don’t put her in a kennel when we leave the house since she’s always been non-destructive. She is also potty trained. She’s been a great little house guest and not your typical Chihuahua. She doesn’t have a lot of energy, and we haven’t heard a peep out of her. Maybe one day she’ll find her voice, but for now she’s silent. Whitney still tends to be shy sometimes, so she’ll need an adopter that understands that. With that, she’s a no-go for kids under high-school age. Whitney is a special little girl who is going to make someone feel very lucky!” Whitney is a 1 year old Chihuahua mix weighing 15lbs. Story
Update 12/29/2025 Kris and Nick are now 9 weeks old. Kris weighs 4.03 lbs and Nick weighs 3.9 lbs. Here’s what their foster mom has to say about these adorable Chihuahua mixes!“These two are as sweet as can be and have the gentlest personalities and demeanors. They are currently using potty pads and are doing great. Kris and Nick love to run, wrestle with each other, and play with one of their smallest canine foster brothers. While they’re comfortable with the other dogs being close by, they don’t really interact or play with them. After playtime, they settle down together on their bed or snuggle up with their foster mom. They’ve grown independent and secure enough that they no longer need to be held all the time. At night, they sleep through the night in their playpen like champs. They truly are pretty perfect pups! The only preference for their future home would be one without young children (under 12), simply due to how small they are.” If you would like to adopt a dog from Rescue Row please fill out an application at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours.
