Story
Milo is looking for his person, and we want to be honest about the good, the bad, and the challenging parts of who he is so we can find him the right home. Let’s start with the good! Milo is an incredibly easy houseguest. He is quiet, kennels on command, sleeps through the night in bed with his foster mom, and has a very calm demeanor. He loves to snuggle, doesn’t destroy things, eats alongside the other dogs in his foster home without any food aggression, is wonderful for nail trims, is potty trained and walks great on a leash. He truly enjoys his daily walks! Now for the harder parts. Milo gets nervous in the car and will shake during rides. He also barks at the doorbell and when visitors come over. While he peacefully coexists with other dogs, he doesn’t really seek out their companionship. The biggest challenge is that Milo does not do well with men and may bite if he feels uncomfortable. He has made progress with his foster dad and will occasionally jump into his lap, but building that trust has taken time and patience. Because of this, we feel Milo would do best in a single female home. Situations involving male visitors, such as repair workers or guests, would require Milo to be safely kenneled. We know this may not paint Milo in the best light, but the truth is he is a really wonderful dog who simply needs the right environment to feel safe and secure. Milo is an almost 6 year old Chihuahua mix weighing 15 pounds. If you think you may be Milo’s person, applications can be submitted at www.rescuerowinc.org.

Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
