Story
Rocco is a 15-year-old dachshund/ shih tzu mix. He's a small dog... only about 11 lbs. He's a chill dog. He is older so does need someone who will pay more attention to him and take him out to the bathroom often. He has a few health issues due to old age.

Story
Meet Froggy, a delightful adult dog who's eager to bring joy to a quiet home. Froggy is the embodiment of sweetness, always ready to offer a friendly tail wag or a comforting cuddle to his one person. He is a social butterfly who loves making canine friends. That being said, he can become protective over his specific people he chooses to bond to. Due to that behavior, he should ideally go into a home with limited people and low traffic. He should be considered a bike risk if others were to try and give him or his person affection while around each other. He does have an overall gentle nature making him a wonderful companion for those seeking a calm, well-mannered friend. Froggy's affectionate personality is paired with a keen intelligence that makes him a quick learner. Froggy is currently undergoing treatments for heartworm disease. Until he has completed his treatments and is fully recovered, Froggy is available for adoption only in the Atlanta area; He must be able to come to Furkids' shelter for treatments. Froggy weighs 13lbs., is approximately 4 years old (est. birth date 02/08/2021), and his adoption fee is $315. Froggy has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Froggy, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Meet Sparky!  Sparky was part of the group of seniors that came to us several weeks ago after their human mom passed away and their human dad was forced to leave the family home - leaving no where for these poor babies to go. Since they technically would have been considered owner surrenders in a county with an extremely small shelter, they would have been euthanized immediately if a rescue didn’t step up to help them.  Sparky is about 12 years old with lots of life left to live! He’s obviously great with other dogs since he lived as part of a pack for most of his life, but he’s also adjusted quite nicely to being the King of the Castle in his foster home! He would love to join a quiet, dachshund loving home so that he can thoroughly enjoy his retirement!!  Does that sound like you? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org ##2161174##

Story
Meet Lucy! Lucy was part of the group of seniors that came to us in early July after their human mom passed away and their human dad was forced to leave the family home - leaving no where for these poor babies to go. Since they technically would have been considered owner surrenders in a county with an extremely small shelter, they would have been euthanized immediately if a rescue didn’t step up to help them.   We think Lucy is about 9-10 yrs old and we're pretty sure those were rough, scary years for her. She is very fearful around new people and new situations, but once she realizes she is safe she becomes an absolute love bug! It is imperative that Lucy's new family be prepared to give her the time and space to acclimate to her new home at her own speed - it will likely be at least a month before she's ready to interact. Lucy will definitely need at least one other more confident dog in the home and at least one female adult human. An all female home would be absolutely perfect for her but she would probably do ok with a calm, gentle man as long as she also had her emotional support woman there too. Lucy also does require a fenced yard as she gains confidence on leash.    Interested in adopting? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org ##2195044##

Story
Clea is a beautiful long haired Dachshund mix looking for her forever family! She is estimated to be around 4 yrs old, and weighs about 30lbs. Clea came to Barkville in January 2025 when she was pregnant. In February she gave birth to 5 beautiful puppies that will go to their new homes in April 2025. Clea has been an exemplary mom to her little ones, she is now ready to be done with motherhood and find her own family. This friendly girl is great with other dogs and older kids. She showed no interest in cats when tested. She is very smart and has quickly picked up on basic commands in her foster home and is potty trained. Clea loves to be around her people and has a sweet personality! Clea enjoys snuggling up with her humans, playing with toys, being outside to explore new smells and sights, and being part of a home. Clea will be spayed in April 2025, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you&#39re interested in fostering or adopting this sweet girl, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.April 4, 2025, 9:58 am
