Story
Meet Faith! Some dogs have a story written in their eyes, and sweet Faith is one of them. Faith is a beautiful 2-year-old Dachshund mix weighing about 25 lbs, and despite whatever her life may have looked like before coming to us, she has nothing but love in her heart. Faith has scars around her neck, a reminder that this precious girl may not have always been treated with the kindness she deserved. But you would never know it from her personality. She absolutely loves people, enjoys being around other dogs, and is wonderful with kids. She is simply a LOVE. Absolutely loves people Sweet, affectionate & ready for a family Faith isn't asking for much-just a family who will love her, cherish her, and make sure the rest of her life is filled with everything she should have had from the beginning. Her scars may be part of her past, but they don't define this beautiful girl. Faith is loving, forgiving, affectionate, and ready to start the best chapter of her life. Story
Meet Friends (aka Fran)! Friends is a 10-year-old dachshund with the sweetest personality and the most wonderful temperament. She is happiest when she's with her people and loves being part of the action. She is incredibly friendly, calm, and gentle, and she has never met a stranger she didn't want to say hello to.Friends absolutely loves her walks and exploring NYC. She takes her time and enjoys a leisurely sniff walk, stopping to investigate all the interesting smells along the way. She doesn't need to rush anywhere and is perfectly happy taking in the world at her own pace. When she's home, Friends loves being close to her people, getting lots of pets, chewing on her favorite bone, and of course enjoying her treats and food. She is a quiet girl overall and communicates in her own adorable way whenever she wants or needs something. She is house trained and does best with regular potty breaks throughout the day.Friends also loves to burrow under blankets and make herself a cozy little nest when it's time to relax. She is affectionate and easygoing, and happiest when she can simply hang out with her people. She has such a sweet presence and would make a wonderful companion for someone patient who is looking for a gentle senior pup to share their days with.Follow @fran.the.doxie on Instagram to see daily updates of her adventures! ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it's a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2847186##

Story
Lil Bit - 8 years, 11lbs, Chiweenie, Neutered - Our vet estimates him to be anywhere between 5 to 7 and possibly even 8.  Please click here to see videos of little bit.  His Foster Family Says: "Lil Bit has been the sweetest foster dog we could have asked for. From the moment we picked him up, he has been incredibly sweet, calm, trusting, and well behaved. He gets along wonderfully with our dogs and has such a kind, gentle soul. At home, Lil Bit is calm and affectionate. He loves snuggling with us on the couch and being near his people, but in a gentle, independent way that is never overly needy. He is very quiet and is happy relaxing, sleeping, or watching the world go by from our window sill, one of his favorite spots. His sweet little face and adorable snaggle tooth are just as charming as his affectionate personality! Lil Bit is also incredibly easy to care for. He is fully house trained and enjoys one longer walk each day along with a couple of shorter walks. He is not reactive on walks. He approaches the world with a wonderful sense of curiously and trust, and really enjoys meeting other dogs and people he passes on walks." Level of dog ownership experience needed:FLEXIBLE – We predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale with regard to exercise and mental stimulation requirements, but seniors tend to need a lot of help and understanding when it comes to lifestyle and veterinary issues. Seniors usually need quiet, calm environments and routines and do not do well with a lot of bustle, change, and rambunctious movement (kids and young playful dogs, for instance). This dog’s adopter will need to be prepared for senior health challenges, which means frequent vet visits and very expensive veterinary bills. (An annual senior blood panel alone costs around $500 in NYC.) Senior care can also take an emotional toll on their humans. Adopting a mature pup is a wonderful thing to do, but it can also be difficult.  Energy level:LOWER – Pretty chill indoors and won’t demand endless amounts of stimulation and exercise but still needs a few short walks a day (10-30 min each) for potty breaks and to stretch their legs TOLERANCE TO CITYAdjusting to the city – Spooked easily by loud noises and bustling areas but walks pretty well in quiet areas and probably just needs more time to adjust (may be a puppy or a brand new rescue). He is sometimes startled by random loud noises but has been able to get around the city, even louder parts, fine. We do live in a more calm part of Brooklyn but he did go on the Subway for the first time yesterday and was totally fine and not scared at all.  POTTY TRAININGYes – Few or no accidents  COMFORT LEVEL WITH STRANGERSSocial butterfly – Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, loves anyone who will stop to say hello.  BEHAVIOR WITH CHILDREN (always requires adult supervision)Yes for most ages – very confident, gentle, low energy, tolerant, not mouthy  SOCIAL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER DOGSYes – Good with most other dogs (sizes, breeds, etc.) as far as we know and enjoys socializing with other canines RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER ANIMALS (cats, small pets, etc.)Yes – Seems to get along with cats etc., either tries to play with them or is mostly uninterested MOUTHY BEHAVIORPast this stage– Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in their mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtime SEPARATION ANXIETYAdjusting – Might cry for a few minutes when you first leave the house but settles pretty quickly and has no problem being left alone otherwise.  LEASH MANNERSOld Pro – Doesn’t pull hard or need much direction.  CUDDLE BUG LEVELMedium – Likes to snuggle when he's in the mood but often stays in his own bed  JUMPING ON PEOPLE TO SAY HELLOCalm Greetings – Doesn’t jump up on people or dogs. Always all four on the floor.  CRATE TRAININGDon't use it -  We only tried crating him once and he was whimpering a lot so we let him out. We didn't find the need to keep him in there because he has been very well behaved. Medical status:Healthy for their age as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. Adopters will need to be ready for senior care – at a minimum, that will be annual checkups including senior bloodwork and a dental post adoption (most senior rescues need one). How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses. This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2839634##

Story
Bentley is a loving, clever dachshund mix who has been my best friend for five years. He’s loyal, goofy, and loves burrowing under the covers, running, and learning tricks. Bentley was rescued from a Texas shelter after being found on the street emaciated and suffering from ringworm. It’s been incredibly rewarding to watch him regain his health and thrive.I want to be honest about his challenges. Bentley has significant anxiety around unfamiliar people and struggles with resource guarding. He has bitten in the past when frightened or overwhelmed. His triggers are limited and identifiable, and his vet believes he is trainable and redirectable. He has made significant progress, and his current medications seem to be helping. He needs someone with the time, patience, and resources to continue his training. I love him deeply, but my work and living situation no longer allow me to give him what he needs. I’m hoping to find him a stable, warm home where he can continue to thrive.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ryder (AL)— the 18monthold male Dachshund/Beagle mix who is so outrageously adorable, it’s honestly a little unfair to the rest of us. This caramelandwhite heartthrob was rescued from a hoarding situation, and somehow he emerged looking like a snack, a gentleman, and a cartoon character all at once. Ryder has that perfect “I’m small but I have big opinions” Dachshund energy mixed with classic Beagle sweetness — a combo that should probably come with a warning label. He’s astoundingly cute. Like, stop scrolling, zoom in, gasp out loud cute. The kind of cute that makes you reconsider your entire schedule because suddenly you need to be home more. The kind of cute that convinces your friends you didn’t adopt a dog — you adopted a living plush toy. And Ryder knows how to work it. He’s friendly, charming, and has mastered the art of the “I’m innocent, please give me a snack” face. He’s ready to leave his past behind and step into a life filled with love, stability, and people who appreciate his very important job: being adorable at all times. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, melt your heart, and dramatically increase your daily photo storage needs, Ryder is your guy. Apply online to adopt Ryder at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. Ryder's adoption fee is $600.Please be sure to reference this pet's name as Ryder (AL) in case of duplicate names within the rescue. Thank you!All pets are current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 20, 2026, 2:18 am
