Harley is 5. She is a sweet girl that loves to be in someone's lap. She is crate trained, pee pad trained, and does well in a fenced yard. She needs a home with no other pets. She is comfortable with both men and women but seems to prefer women. She doesn't do well on a leash, she fights it. She is good with our 6 year old grandson, who visits periodically.

I adopted Maggie almost half a year ago, and she has been an absolute sweetheart, which is why this decision is so hard. Unfortunately, she is not doing too well with the new baby at home, but not because she isn't good with kids, we just haven't been able to give her the attention and time that she needs, she also cannot live with me in my new apartment, because of landlord issues. Maggie loves to play with balls, and is very easy to take care of. She loves to go to the dog park and play with other dogs, and does really well around any kind of dog, no matter the size or breed. I just want her to have a good life where she is well taken care of.

This is Wilbur...aka Willie. He came in with siblings that made up the Aviator litter. And though he likes to fly through the house, he is really a low rider with his little squatty legs! He and his sister are fearless when playing but, just like any puppy, run out of gas quick. Then he is ready to snuggle and nap with anyone with a lap. He is happy to pay for the snuggle time with many kisses! He is working hard on his potty training and is doing well with crate training. He sleeps through the night without any problem. He gets along great with other dogs or he can be the only pup in the house as long as you keep in mind he's still young and needs attention. We recommend an adopter who works from home until he is a little older. Cherry (Plum's sister) is a 6 month old 10 pound petite brindle dachshund mix who loves attention. She plays well with other dogs and loves kids.  She's doing great with house, leash, and crate training and understands several commands including “let’s go!" And "Potty outside." She loves to play and have fun with toys. She is curious and funny to watch.  *She needs another dog in the home to play with and help boost her confidence levels as she is a little shy at first.*Cherry is the perfect size for an easy travel companion.  To meet Cherry in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.   * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Vet checks are required. All resident animals must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative (if applicable). Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet.
