Travis is a 1.5 year old, 13 lb Dachshund mix. He has such handsome markings and soulful eyes. He and nine other small dogs were dumped in East Texas, and Humane Tomorrow took them all into our adoption program. Foster mom says that he is very calm, loves cuddles, and enjoys snuggling under a blanket. He is even starting to show his playful side. Travis will be timid at first, so he needs adopters who will be patient with him and give him time and space to build trust, a calm environment where he feels safe and secure. With love and consistency, he will blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion. If you would like to give Travis a forever home that really does last forever, please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you. Travis has heartworms because he was not kept on heartworm prevention. Humane Tomorrow will pay for his treatment with our partner vet, and the treatments are very successful.

I got Nismo when he was just a few weeks old in 2013. He is almost 13 years old now. He has travelled all over the country with me. He LOVES car rides. He is very smart and is so loving. He will get incredibly attached to you and follow you every step you take. While he does get a long with other pets (he has lived with 3 other dogs and multiple cats over the years, he is more fond of cats) he has primarily been a single pet and tends to stay to himself. While hes very smart, hes also quite stubborn as most dachshunds tend to be. The perfect home for him would be one where his new owner can give him the attention and love he needs with some patience. Ideally no kids, as he has some slight protective tendencies primarily with his food. He loves to play rough, but he knows when to cool down. He is such a great loving dog but unfortunately with life getting in the way I am unable to care for him the way I think he needs and deserves. He will need some dental work - I am able to help.

Brownie was born April 11, 2022. We found Brownie while walking through a flea market. The owner/breeder was selling dachshunds but didn’t have papers for Brownie and was giving her away. We love her very much and she has the sweetest personality. We had not done much research on dachshunds, and therefore did not know that they are one of the hardest breeds to housebreak. We have repeatedly tried over the last 3 1/2 years, but unfortunately, with no one really home during the day, it’s been difficult. We leave out puppy pads and she urinates on those with very few accidents off of them. She has her bowel movements in the general area of the puppy pads, but not on them. She is a mini and so the mess is never terrible, but it can be frustrating. We have recently had a couple of our adult children need to move home and they have brought pets with them. Our house feels a bit like a zoo and I desperately need relief. Brownie deserves a home where mom isn’t always frustrated and upset.
