Get ready, because we’re about to mix things up with an adorable pug imposter! Three-year-old Nellie is a happy, affectionate, and playful dachshund with a beautiful coat of wavy fur. Dachshunds were originally bred for hunting, and Nellie makes her ancestors proud by chasing rabbits and squirrels in her foster family’s backyard. When she’s not on patrolling the yard for furry friends, Nellie’s favorite activities include playing with other dogs, chasing after toys, going for occasional walks, wolfing down her meals, and using her long snout to try and sneak food from people or other dogs. She also enjoys sleeping in bed next to her humans at night, trying to hijack the family pillows before eventually curling up at the foot of the bed. We think that Nellie would thrive in a home with cuddly and attentive humans who have a backyard that she can scan for woodland creatures; because she has a prey drive, a home with cats would likely not be suitable for her.
