Story
Calvin is an adorable, sweet, funny, affectionate little dog, but Calvin cannot live in an apartment. He has a very loud, high pitched bark and is sure to disturb neighbors. He is a unique looking little dog - definitely one of a kind! People always ask what type of dog is he??? We are guessing that he is probably a Miniature Dachshund mixed with some type of terrier. His hair is soft, his tail is curly, and he has one blue eye and one brown eye. He has the cutest little head tilt and frequent squinty eyed expression, like he is trying to figure out what you are talking about! Calvin loves to play with other dogs, and his favorite game is wrestling. If other dogs aren't interested in playing, he will gladly entertain himself with toys, which he likes to bring into one of the dog beds. He likes to stretch out on his foster mom's lap when she is watching TV, and he sleeps through the night in a crate beside her bed. He would love to sleep in bed with his person if allowed. He loves, loves, loves meal time and treats, and he sits politely waiting his turn. Calvin doesn't live with young kids, but we think he will be fine with kids over the age of 6. Calvin will be a loyal, loving companion, and will provide many laughs along the way. Please submit your application to meet Calvin, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Daphne came to us when her sweet mama was moved into hospice care. She was so worried about Daphne, and thanks to a wonderful foster family, we were able to bring her into the rescue. She's adjusting to the changes she's been through and doing well so far. She enjoys exploring and is making herself at home. Daphne would love to find a fairly calm home with a new family. She does well with other dogs and would probably prefer to avoid the chaos of small children. If you'd like to sponsor Daphne to help with her care while she's looking for a new family, you can do so through Petbucks for only $19.00 a month. https://petbucks.org/pet/6537/sponsor/create ADOPTION APPLICATION: www.tinyurl.com/IADRAdoptionApp ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hey, my name is Leroy. I'm not meaner than a junkyard dog but my foster mom says I  might  make a great guard dog. I watch over her very closely and am always looking around corners for a ground attack. Course, being a Dachshund, sniffing is what I do. I might go behind you when there's a big dog around, but I will bark loudly. Foster mom also says I'm as sweet as the day is long. I love a lap, walks, and being outside. Having a lot of time outside is new to me. Did you know about all of the smells? And how awesome is it to roll in the grass?! I'm getting the hang of being house and crate trained. I got a late start but catching on quickly since I'm so smart. I'm a little bit shy when I meet new people but warm up quickly. And in case you didn't notice, I carry a little extra weight but my foster mom is helping me walk that off.    So when you see me, I will look thinner (plus the camera adds pounds).  Fill out an application and come meet me! Please visit our website at tmhpr.com for more information about our organization and our available pets.  Safe pet home visits & vet checks are required. For this reason, we only adopt locally - in the Dallas area. If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our available pets, please fill out the adoption application found at:   tmhpr.com .
