Story
Get ready, because we’re about to mix things up with an adorable pug imposter! Three-year-old Nellie is a happy, affectionate, and playful dachshund with a beautiful coat of wavy fur. Dachshunds were originally bred for hunting, and Nellie makes her ancestors proud by chasing rabbits and squirrels in her foster family’s backyard. When she’s not on patrolling the yard for furry friends, Nellie’s favorite activities include playing with other dogs, chasing after toys, going for occasional walks, wolfing down her meals, and using her long snout to try and sneak food from people or other dogs. She also enjoys sleeping in bed next to her humans at night, trying to hijack the family pillows before eventually curling up at the foot of the bed. We think that Nellie would thrive in a home with cuddly and attentive humans who have a backyard that she can scan for woodland creatures; because she has a prey drive, a home with cats would likely not be suitable for her. If you’re open to a friendly, social gal with a longer snout, we’d love to introduce you to Nellie! Apply for her at dfwpugs.com.

Story
Please welcome Bogey to the Rescue Row! Bogey is an 8 year old Terrier/Dachshund mix (our best guess!) who is extremely sweet natured and pretty chill most of the time. He loves other dogs and gets so excited to meet new people! He is crate trained, but has not crated in years since he can be trusted to be free in the house. He is settling into his foster home and we will update the page as we learn more about him! *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash, Zelle, Venmo or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2047788##

Story
We've had Jonathan for about 10 years now since he was a tiny puppy. Our family has grown a lot since we first got him and he has always adjusted well to new kids and routines. He is a very chill dog who likes to lay around and take it easy. He will occasionally want to play but prefers to have his belly rubbed more than anything. He does not shed but is hard of hearing due to previous ear infections from the amount of hair that grows in his ears. As you can see in his picture he does need to be groomed as he can get pretty fluffy! He does have trouble jumping onto furniture at his age due to hip issues from years of jumping.

Story
Meet our newest low-rider, Alfred! Alfred was a stray who we found covered in fleas, roaming East Dallas. Fortunately, one of our awesome volunteers is fostering this short and stout gentleman while he waits for a forever family to show him the good life. Alfred is a 14-year-old, 25 lb, dachshund/corgi mix. This sweet senior is as friendly as can be. He is very dog-friendly and he seems to be cat-friendly, too. Alfred is low energy; while he enjoys the occasional yard exploration or short walk, his favorite pastime is simply napping. Alfred is the perfect mix of cuddly and independent, and he's generally happy to just go with the flow. Alfred is crate trained and housebroken as well as neutered, heartworm negative, and current on all vaccines. Looking for a cute senior fella to grace your couch? Fill out an application to meet Alfred! Questions about this short-legged cutie?
