Story
Calvin is one very unique looking little dog. Definitely one of a kind. He is 1.5 years old, weighs 12 lbs, an we think he may be a Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix, and maybe with a dab of Chinese Crested. When he first came to Humane Tomorrow, he had a serious skin condition that caused him to lose a lot of hair, which is shown in a photo taken on the first day. He has improved a lot after a few rounds of medication and a good diet, but he still has a few bald spots. His neck and tummy continue to be bare. Those areas a pink with brown spots and brown borders. Calvin is a fun, funny, playful, affectionate, sweet little dog. He has the cutest little head tilt and frequent squinty eyed expression, like he is trying to figure out what you are talking about! Calvin loves to play with other dogs, but he has a rough play style and can be a little too mouthy. If other dogs aren't interested in playing, he will gladly entertain himself with toys, which he likes to bring into one of the dog beds. Calvin is a great choice to be an only dog, so he doesn't have to share his toys or his people's attention. He likes to stretch out on his foster mom's lap when she is watching TV, and he sleeps through the night in a crate beside her bed. He would love to sleep in bed with his person if allowed. He loves, loves, loves meal time and treats. He has an amazingly loud bark for his small size, so he probably won't do well in an apartment. Calvin doesn't live with young kids, but we think he will be fine with kids over the age of 6. Please submit your application to adopt Calvin at www.humanetomorrow.org, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Stanley is a 6 year old, 11 lb Dachshund/Chihuahua mix. He is friendly with most people, but he is especially partial to men. He is also a little cautious around kids, so we are recommending no kids under 10 years of age. Stanley loves to go on walks and has great leash manners. He also loves to take car rides, but he expects to ride "shotgun" in someone's lap. He needs a little more convincing to ride in the back or in a carrier. He loves his meal time and snacks, so he should be fed separately from other dogs until a routine is established. Stanley is a smart little guy, and already understands "go potty", "sit", and "food" (his favorite word). The first step to meeting Stanley is to submit an application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Harley is 5. She is a sweet girl that loves to be in someone's lap. She is crate trained, pee pad trained, and does well in a fenced yard. She needs a home with no other pets. She is comfortable with both men and women but seems to prefer women. She doesn't do well on a leash, she fights it. She is good with our 6 year old grandson, who visits periodically.

Story
This is Wilbur...aka Willie. He came in with siblings that made up the Aviator litter. And though he likes to fly through the house, he is really a low rider with his little squatty legs! He and his sister are fearless when playing but, just like any puppy, run out of gas quick. Then he is ready to snuggle and nap with anyone with a lap. He is happy to pay for the snuggle time with many kisses! He is working hard on his potty training and is doing well with crate training. He sleeps through the night without any problem. He gets along great with other dogs or he can be the only pup in the house as long as you keep in mind he's still young and needs attention. We recommend an adopter who works from home until he is a little older. Hi! My name is Slinky Dog. You may recognize from my starring role in the Toy Story Movies. But don't let that intimidate you. I am very friendly and down to earth...very down to earth since my legs are so short! haha I have the perfect figure at 19 pounds! For a 2 year old, my foster mom says I'm super laid back. I like my walks, but other than that, love napping on the sofa or on my bed. I love to snuggle and be held. I will come to you and give you the best hugs ever! Of course, I'm crate and house trained. My foster mom says I have beautiful coloring. Story
Brody's Still Waiting Brody is a sweet adorable pup who is patiently waiting for his Forever family to find him. He's about 6 mos and will remain on the smaller end of medium size. He sort of resembles a dachshund with long legs, but also looks like a little dobie mix. Brody loves making doggie friends and he likes kids too. He has also been around cats. Brody watched as his brother and sister left to go to their new homes. He's ready for his turn! His "puppy dog eyes" are so sweet. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Lola is an 8-year-old, 17-pound Rat Terrier & Chihuahua mix with a wonderful Chi face and the most beautiful eyes. She is a love bug. She wants to be wherever you are, preferably in your lap. She loves everyone and greets new people joyously. She’s a mini welcoming committee for guests in your home. Lola lives for human attention. She loves to be petted and told what a pretty girl she is. She alternates between lap dog and excitable girl. Watch the video of her playing in the water from the hose—she leaps and bounds higher than you could imagine a dog her size could jump. Another great cause for excitement is mealtime, where she will greet her food bowl with a twirl or two and a happy tail wag. But she saves her best performance for the Dance of Mom Coming Home, where you will get multiple twirls, crouches, kisses and puppy-like enthusiasm. Lola has her manners down. She is house-trained. There is no need to crate her—she is totally non-destructive. She rides well in the car. She is not a barky dog. She is in good health and we just had her teeth cleaned. She would prefer to sleep in the bed with you at night, but if she can’t, she’ll sleep in her own designated dog bed. She requires very little correction and must be corrected gently as she gets her feelings hurt easily. Lola would do well in either a house or an apartment. Teenage children are fine. She needs to be an only dog because she has food aggression issues with other dogs (not with people). She came to us because her owner died and the children were unable to care for her and her sister. She’s a happy, contented, low-maintenance dog who offers companionship and affection. Lola’s adoption fee is $175 and includes spay, all shots & microchip. She is heartworm-negative and is on heartworm prevention. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.

Story
This little girl is aptly named, Miracle. When she came into our program she weighed a mere 2.2 pounds and was barely hanging on. We were not sure she was going to make it, but after several months in a loving foster home, she is doing fantastic! We think she may be around 10 years old but we cannot be certain. Due to the poor condition she came in, her teeth were in terrible condition and several had to be removed. But even with fewer teeth she is such a happy girl. She is almost 5 pounds now and acts like a young pup at times and is just such a sweet girl. She gets along with the 65 and 80 pound dogs in her foster home as well as the cats. She loves her humans and just wants to sit on the couch or in your lap any time she can. One of her favorite things is basking in the sun in the backyard. Going forward, Miracle will need some special care which will be discussed with any potential adopters. Due to her size, we don't think a home with small children would be the best place for Miracle. If you are interested in making this lovely little lady a part of your family, please submit your application and an adoption counselor will be in contact.
