Story
Howdy, I am Callum! Fully big boy potty trained ✔️ Sleeps through the night in his crate✔️ Learning the kids are pretty cool and no longer barks at them for coming down stairs✔️ He is 17 pounds and 7months old! He is all the pupoy fun with none if the puppy hassle! He would do great in a home with other dogs or as the only royal chi to soak up all the love. He wants a chill home with a comfy lap to snuggle! I’m mostly legs! I’m still growing into them! Before I came into rescue, my mama, my siblings, and I were trying to survive on our own in South Texas. Life was pretty scary, and one of my siblings even fell into a drain! Thankfully, some wonderful people, including the fire department, came to the rescue and made sure every single one of us made it out safely. Now we’re all safe, loved, and learning what it means to just be puppies. As for me, I’m having a blast! I live with dogs of all sizes and ages, and I get along with everyone. I’m also cat-approved! I love toys and think they all belong on the floor, so I make sure to pull every single one out. If nobody wants to play, that’s okay cause I’m perfectly happy entertaining myself. I’m working hard on my potty training and doing really well. I always use my puppy pads, and when I need to go outside, I’ll head right to the door to let you know. I love being outside and soaking up the sunshine with my dog friends. Sunbathing is one of my favorite activities. I’m not the clingy type, but when I get sleepy, I do enjoy curling up next to you or sitting in your lap. I know how to sit for food and treats, and everyone says I’m such a good listener. I think they’re right! Mostly, I’m just a happy boy looking for a family to love. I’ve come a long way from surviving to thriving, and I can’t wait to find my forever home. Love, Callum ❤️

Story
Meet Pekoe, affectionately known as Pokey by her foster family. ❤️ Pekoe is around 3 years old, although she acts like a little old lady. She was bred as a Jack Russell, but with her long body and short legs, she might have some Dachshund in there too. Whatever she is, one thing is certain: she is absolutely adorable. Pekoe came from a backyard breeding situation where she spent her days in an outdoor pen with no cover, dirty water, and mulch to sleep on. When she had puppies, she was put into a tiny crate to care for them. She was an amazing mama, but she had very little human interaction and never really learned that people could be trusted. Because of that, Pekoe's journey has been all about learning how to be a dog instead of a breeding machine. And she is making progress every day. Her foster family calls her Pokey because she moves at a snail's pace. 😂 Her decompression period has taken longer than most, and she still isn't quite ready to hop on the couch or snuggle with her humans. But don't let her slow pace fool you, because she's beginning to come out of her shell. She has started running sometimes, and watching her discover that she can actually play and have fun is pretty special. Her little booty shake is probably the cutest thing ever. 🥹 Pekoe is crate trained, potty trained, and does well coexisting with other dogs. She's even started interacting and playing a little with her foster siblings! She loves butt scratches and is becoming more comfortable accepting pets. Recently, she even took a treat directly from her foster mom's hand, which may sound like a tiny thing, but for Pekoe, it's a HUGE milestone. She also has some pretty adorable quirks. If she hears puppies on a video, she comes running to find them. Her mama instincts are still strong. She loves squeaky toys, especially balls, and likes to collect and hoard them all in her crate. She still loves digging in the dirt and will happily lie down in it, probably because that's what she has always known. But she does have one dislike: the ice maker dropping ice. 😂 Apparently, that sound is completely unacceptable. Pekoe is not going to be the dog who jumps into your lap on day one. She needs patience, consistency, and a quiet environment where she can continue to decompress and learn that she is safe. But every little step she takes is incredibly rewarding. She has already gone from a scared, neglected mama who knew very little about life outside a breeding pen to a sweet little dog who is beginning to run, play, accept pets, take treats from a human hand, and show off her adorable booty shake. Pekoe doesn't need someone to "fix" her. She needs someone willing to give her time. And if you do, you'll get to watch her discover who she was always meant to be. ❤️🐾

Story
'Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be' - Robert Browning Amora is a sweetheart with a heart full of love and just the right amount of senior dog energy. She enjoys walking around the neighborhood just as much as she loves staying indoors sleeping on the couch. She loves people, food, and naps...in no particular order. While Amora is crate trained, her laid-back personality doesn't really require it. This love bug is looking for a forever home where she can thrive as the only four-legged family member. In return, she offers a lifetime of tail wags, kisses, and cozy cuddling sessions. She is such a sweet soul. She happily will jump up beside you and press her little body close for pets and loving. She is super sweet, super calm and always ready for belly rubs. She seems to have some lab, terrier and dachshund as she has a long body and is a low rider. Amora is knee-high and 'knee-din' a home that will love her furever. She loves her stuffies and anything that squeaks. She is a sweet girl and loves her humans. This sweet momma was being given away for free with her 9 puppies. We always hate to see that and while we can't always do anything we were able to wrangle enough fosters to save this little family. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Using her keen senses, she guided them to safe havens and shared her finds of food. One night, while rescuing a frightened kitten from a busy intersection, a local shelter volunteer witnessed her bravery and compassion. Realizing her potential for a loving home, they gently coaxed her to the shelter. Martha, though timid at first, has shown her friendly and mellow nature. She deserves a forever home where her heroic heart can continue to shine.September 13, 2026, 2:57 pm

Story
Pinky is a 2-year-old dachshund mix with the cutest combination of spots, floppy ears, and short little legs. While we’re not sure what she’s mixed with, whatever it is gave her a slightly bigger build than a typical dachshund—she weighs about 28 pounds and is the perfect small-to-medium size. Pinky is an easygoing, low-key girl who is just as happy lounging on a dog bed as she is soaking up the sun outside. She has a calm, content personality and doesn’t require constant activity to be satisfied. She does well with dogs of all sizes and would fit nicely into a home with other respectful canine companions. She is crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is generally very well-mannered. Pinky is fearful of small children, so she will need a home without young kids where she can feel safe and comfortable. Pinky is a sweet, gentle girl looking for a relaxed home that will appreciate her quiet nature and give her the stability she deserves.
