She gets along well with cats and seems like she would do just fine with other dogs, too. She’s comfortable in her crate but also enjoys lounging nearby - especially in the den, where she’ll quietly settle into her bed while her foster mom works. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2666118##

All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. Rowen is a tiny little sweetheart with a huge heart packed into just 5 pounds 🐶💛. This little guy loves nothing more than being held close and carried around like the precious baby he is—if you’re sitting down, chances are he’s already trying to be in your lap or snuggled right against you 🥰. Rowen and his siblings were found as strays alongside their mom, until a scary moment brought them urgent help—one of the puppies fell into a drain, and the local fire department stepped in heroically to rescue the family 🚒❤️. Thanks to their quick action, this little crew was brought to safety and given the chance to start over. Now safe and thriving, Rowen is soaking up all the love he can get. He’s a cozy cuddle bug who adores being close to his people, especially during quiet time or while watching TV 📺✨. Their story is one of those “this is why rescue exists” moments. This mom and her puppies were found running loose in South Texas, trying to survive on their own. At one point, one of the puppies actually fell into a drain, and the Donna Fire Department had to come out and rescue him. Thankfully they were able to pull the puppy out safely, and the whole little family is now on their way to us.

She’s playful, curious, and full of puppy charm—she loves her toys, enjoys exploring, and is always happy to be scooped up for some snuggles 🥰.
