Story
Jasper came to us after his owner suddenly passed away. Jasper is 10 years old and weighs 20lbs. Fully vetted. Jasper is a Dachshund mix. He is neutered, microchiped, and vaccinated. He is incredibly loving and affectionate. He is a shadow that will follow you around. He loves to be outdoors. He does not like to be crated, but we are working on it. He does have separation anxiety, and would do best with someone that is retired or works from home. He is a wire haired dachshund mix but he recently got a haircut which now highlights his unique coat. He is a chocolate brown everywhere except his neck which is a lighter and reddish brown.

Story
Franklin is a Dachshund/Terrier mix that’s about 3 years old and weighs 24lbs. He was found living on the streets as a stray and is learning quickly how great it is to live in a house! Franklin is good with other dogs, but he`s a bit wary of humans at first. He warms up to women right away, but takes his time getting to know men. Once he trusts you though, you`ve got a friend for life. Franklin will follow you anywhere and everywhere!Franklin is a very loving boy and is working hard on all his training so that he can be the best dog he can be. His biggest goals right now are to finish his potty training (he`s so close!) and to learn to stay calm and relaxed in his kennel. He’s full of life and a little silly, so after working on his training he loves playing, belly rubs, and snuggles.Franklin had a rough start to life but that hasn’t stopped him from being a wonderful, faithful companion. To help him continue living the good life in a loving home, please apply to adopt him today at www.pawsinthecity.org

Story
Snow White is a sweet senior gal with a gentle soul and a beautiful story. In 2025, she gave birth to one precious puppy, and since then she’s settled into the role she was clearly born for—being cherished and loved. Her soulmate is Daddy Morty, and these two are truly inseparable. They are a bonded, 2-for-1 pair and will be adopted together. Like Morty, Snow White adores belly rubs and is perfectly happy being cradled like a baby, soaking up every bit of affection you’re willing to give. While she may be an old gal, Snow White still has so much love, joy, and laughter left to share. She’s the kind of dog who makes a house feel warmer and hearts feel fuller just by being there. If you’re ready for a meet and greet, kick off the process with an application at www.flyingbrescue.org/adopt. Our application is thorough but there are no right or wrong answers - we just want to make sure you and the pet are the perfect match. Once we receive your application, we will schedule a phone interview. Our adoptions include a 2-week trial period with fully refundable adoption fees during that period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer transportation services and have happy families as references. We value transparency, so don’t be afraid to ask us anything.

Story
Pinky is a 2-year-old dachshund mix with the cutest combination of spots, floppy ears, and short little legs. While we’re not sure what she’s mixed with, whatever it is gave her a slightly bigger build than a typical dachshund—she weighs about 28 pounds and is the perfect small-to-medium size. Pinky is an easygoing, low-key girl who is just as happy lounging on a dog bed as she is soaking up the sun outside. She has a calm, content personality and doesn’t require constant activity to be satisfied. She does well with dogs of all sizes and would fit nicely into a home with other respectful canine companions. She is crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is generally very well-mannered. Pinky is fearful of small children, so she will need a home without young kids where she can feel safe and comfortable. Pinky is a sweet, gentle girl looking for a relaxed home that will appreciate her quiet nature and give her the stability she deserves.
