We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Princess Shortcake is an adorable Dachsund mix that is short and oh so sweet! She is really coming out of her shell and has been getting more comfortable every day. She stands by the door when she has to go potty, and does great in a crate overnight and when we leave the house. She is very curious and wants to be around her people. If you're looking for a walking buddy, Princess is your girl-but she also loves a good nap on the couch. She's not much of a cuddler but is very happy sleeping near you. Princess is great with our kids (9 and 7) but isn't very interested in our resident dogs. She has recently started to show interest in playing with them, but gets very protective around her food. Because of this, she would probably do best as the only dog in the home. Aside from that she is as sweet as can be and has been a joy around every human she's met! When she gets excited she gets the zoomies, which are even cuter on those little legs. Princess would make a great companion and is ready for her forever home!

Meet Fritz! A confident dachund mix with beautiful blue eyes (with a dash of brown). DOB:12.5.24 Curious and friendly, Fritz loves to seek out attention! He loves treats and will make faces to convince you to give him more. He's a smart little guy and settles in pretty quickly to new situations. He'll explore but come back to check in every couple of minutes. He was raised with another dog so he can be part of a household with other canines. Meet Green Bean! 💚 This little charmer truly has it all. Green Bean is friends with everyone he meets — human and canine alike! He adores his toys, loves romping around outside, and has perfected the art of sweetly flirting with the resident senior pups. When playtime winds down, get ready for the cutest naps you’ve ever seen. Bean’s post-zoomie snoozes are the stuff of legend. This adorable lowrider sports a gorgeous brindle coat, a bright white chest, and just a hint of scruff that makes him completely irresistible. One look and you’ll be smitten — we certainly were! Green Bean sleeps comfortably in his crate near his foster mom and is doing great with potty training thanks to regular outdoor trips. He’s off to a wonderful start and ready to continue learning with his forever family. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, nap-champion sidekick, Green Bean is your guy. 💚 Green Bean is estimated to be 14 weeks old and 9 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl was brought in with babies when her owner couldn't take care of her. She was not socialized very well so will need some work. She will need a very patient person to get her to come out of her shell. She was kept outside so she has no house manners, nor has she been with cats. She does do well with dogs her size and seems to like to play with them. She deserves a new chance to be a loved dog and companion. She will take a lot of time and investment but deserves a chance!

He’s an easygoing little guy who can play nonstop or curl right up next to you for snuggles — whatever his people are doing, he’s happy to join in. He listens when called, loves everyone he meets, and gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, kids, and adults alike. He’s highly active and full of puppy energy, but he’s also gentle, even&#226&#128&#145tempered, and incredibly affectionate. Walter loves walks (especially when he can carry a stick in his mouth), enjoys bully sticks, and is always ready for a good play session. He’s smart, eager to please, and already knows “sit” and “come.” Walter is very close to being fully potty trained when kept on a consistent schedule. He walks nicely on a leash but may pull when he gets excited. He’s not crate trained yet, but he’s quiet, adaptable, and learns quickly. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
