We took this boy in after he was found near Elberta, AL. We’ve brought him to the vet and gotten him up to date on his vaccinations, but we’re unable to keep him and urgently need to find him a loving home.He is a medium-sized male dog, approximately 25–50 pounds. Because we don’t know his full history, we want to be transparent about what we know and help potential adopters decide whether he’s the right fit.We took him in to give him a safe place, and now we’re hoping to find someone who can offer him the lasting care, attention, and love he deserves.Located near Elberta, AL. Energetic and loving, I adopted Sweet Pea from a No-kill Shelter while she was just recently weened from her mother. She was born May 29, 2025. Absolutely fun to watch, my husband and I fell in love with her. I have videos of her playing retrieve the ball. We also have another dog, Kudjo, 12 year old Chihuahua, who has tumors which are affecting his health. While he is normally tolerant around other dogs, he hasn't adjusted well to Sweet Pea (the Treat Thief, the Mushy Pest, the Fiesty Little Sister). Recently in Late June 2026, my husband passed away suddenly in our house. I just can't handle her without him. She jumps on me and her claws scratch my elderly arms. She deserves a little behavior training in a home with older children (10 years and above).

I got him from a friend of mine where his lab ended up having babies with someone else’s mixed breed dog that has behavioral issues. Schaffer is 2 years and 6 months old. I want him to go to a home where someone knows how to train him out of his bad habits because I don’t know how to. He is house trained and listens to sit and stay commands but when he’s around people he doesn’t listen well for just doesn’t care and he does not like cats. He is loving but a handful and just to much for me right now I got home when I was 19 because I wanted a dog but I didn’t have any experience on how to train a dog.

I adopted her from the Haven in Fairhope. She was just a baby, probably pulled from the mother a little early because she has a sucking need as evidence4d from my personal clothing. She was born the end of May 2025. She is accustomed to going in and out throughout the day through a doggy door and has had a fenced in yard to roam around in. Her eating habits are good - a bowl of wet food in the morning and Caesar dry food throughout the day. She also likes small bully bones. I had major spine surgery in Dec 2025 and didn't come home until February 2026. My husband took care of her while I was in rehab. I have improved in my balance and ability to walk without assistance, however, a major life change occurred in June. My husband suddenly died of a massive heart attack at home. He was part of the team that was Sweet Pea's caregiver. Unfortunately she has become too much for me alone to handle. I am 70 years old, can't pick her up, and she jumps up on me.
