Story
Meet our playful 7 year old pup who still has plenty of energy and love to give! He was originally adopted from PetSmart and has been a wonderful companion. He absolutely loves playing catch and will happily chase a ball for as long as you’re willing to throw it. Even though he’s about 7 years old, he still has a fun, youthful spirit and enjoys staying active. He would do great with someone who likes to play, spend time outside, and give him the attention he deserves. We care about him deeply and would keep him, but our schedules have grown too busy and we can’t give him the time and activity he needs. Because of that, we’re looking for a loving home where he can get plenty of playtime, attention, and companionship. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you active and entertained, he could be the perfect match. (Adoption fee applies to ensure a committed home)

Story
He loves people; giving smoochies; leaning into you for more bonding with you. I sometimes jump to give you kisses when I meet you - I forget I'm not tiny, so sorry! I calm down fast if you pet me and talk to me. I am house trained, never been in a crate or tied up outside. I sleep on my doggie bed in my foster's bedroom. I barely come up to your knees - I look big in pictures, but its my heart wanting you thats big! I am not a constant barker, love zoomies; walking; taking a nap with you - total love package. Milo's fur sparkles in the sun. He is on the quiet side, trying to get attention is hard with 5 siblings! He can be a bit shy, but warms up fast. He is neutered & ready to be adopted - still waiting for his furever home.

Story
UPDATE 6-6-2026: New foster said Chewy hasn't nipped at anyone (except one bigger bdx dog in trying to establish dominance). He is a dream, but very protective of his foster/owner. That is why he semi-nipped - people leaning over him touching his mommy he gets nervous you might hurt her. Never broke skin or tore clothing. Maybe put him in a crate when guests are leaving. Very loving, just overly protective of his owner. Fenced in yard and 1 or 2 dogs his size might help. As with any dog, takes awhile to get used to them, determine who is in charge. Bigger dogs scare him, so anything over 25 lbs I would not advise, unless they are small. Still unsure on cats and young children/toddlers. Chewy was rescued thru ARF from the Wayne County Pound in Jan. 2026; adopted in Feb., but returned in June - because of semi nipping. Again only if the guests lean over him to say goodbye (hug, kiss) to his owner. He is a sweetheart, big loving heart. Needs a furever home and trust he won't be returned. ARF will be very selective in a new furever home - he is a sweetheart, but needs new owners to know about his nipping (anxiety separation - to near to his owner by towering over him). He was adopted in Jan. 2026, but returned due to his overly protective need. Chewy's former owner is very social. He is all lovey dovey to everyone, cute as anything, just not towering over him while on owners lap. He is approx. 18 #, with his adorable face he would love a furever home. He is a mix of Papillon and possibly Daschund or King Charles Spaniel – since we do not know his history, we can only match his mix as close as possible. ** A fenced in yard is a priority. ** Chewy is a 5-year-old Papillon mix with the perfect balance of playful energy and cozy companionship. He absolutely loves to snuggle and lounge, making him a wonderful couch buddy after a long day. This new behavior must be addressed without meds or punishment - in a kindly manner. We do not want him bounced around from home to home because he nips out of anxiety to protect his owner. So a less social perhaps a more quiet home (was in assistance living home) will keep him calm. When it’s time for fun, Chewy’s favorite thing is when you toss the tennis ball— he’s always ready for a little playtime! He’s also house and crate trained, so he already has great manners and will fit right into a loving home. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate pup who enjoys both play and relaxation, Chewy could be your perfect match! A stay at home person would be great, no young children full time at this time. Chewy has long hair with black/brownish fur with a touch of white and he is approximately 5 years young !
