Story
Roscoe is a 6 month old boxer/pit mix. He is a very energetic dog and loves to go on car rides and walks. He could drink a pool full of water and eat bags and bags of food if you let him. He needs a lot of attention and love and he will let you know when he wants it. He is a great loving dog and needs someone who can give him everything he needs.

Story
Duke is seven months old and has a brother, Bo. They are very healthy; their skin/fur is soft and full, and they are super friendly. He appears to be someone's dog, but no one in the area we live or our county has claimed them. He's been shared repeatedly for weeks in the local paper and pics put up in stores. Duke is friendly; he loves playing with his brother. My wife sits outside with him most of the day, and they love being with her. He will make a wonderful family dog. Just looking for love and someone to play with him.

Story
Bo arrived at my home in rural Georgia along with his brother, Duke. They looked in perfect health and have shown zero amount of aggression. They love to play and act like normal puppies. They aren't huge barkers. I posted their pics for a month in the local paper and no one responded. If they are still with me on Nov 7th, they will both be neutered. I'd love to see them be adopted together, but I realize that can't always happen. I'd be glad to arrange a greet and meet between someone interested. They are heart worm negative which makes me think they are someone's pets, but no one has claimed them. Bo is 7 months old and weighs 37.4. My wife and I have three rescue small dogs, and seven rescue cats. So, it's financially and physically impossible for me to adopt them myself. They love playing with my fourteen year old grandson. My wife is retired and sits outside with them most of the day. They are just wonderful dogs.

Story
Annabelle tends to be a little reserved when first meeting new people. She's not the kind of dog that jumps on everybody she meets.   Give Annabelle a couple of days to get acquainted with you and she'll be your best friend and more than happy to receive belly rubs and being playful with you. We think that Annabelle will do best in a low commotion type of home and one without young children. Annabelle has preferred being without the company of other dogs and we're not sure if that will change once in a new home.  She is laid back, likes a walk and some play time and would be a good fit for someone who wants a calm dog.  She may bark when someone approaches the home making her a great option for someone looking for a family companion that will also ward off strangers. She's been at the rescue for a couple years and now it's here turn to find her forever true home! ————— Annabelle was nursing a litter of pups when she found as a stray within our area. We're not sure if she was abandoned after her litter was born or became pregnant while homeless, only that she was in dire need of being rescued. All of her pups have gone on to find their new homes, but Annabelle had to remain with us while we got her back to good health as she was extremely malnourished and heartworm positive when she arrived. In addition to being treated for her heartworms, Annabelle has also been fully vetted and kept on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. A microchip will accompany her adoption. She has displayed signed of having once been housetrained but may require a refresher course once in a home. He has lived outside his entire life. Pepe is a loving bundle of joy and will be a wonderful addition to a family.  Pepe is up to date on all vaccines, preventatives and will come with a microchip too! Story
***Roxy is with a loving foster home near Princeton, NJ.  She is thriving each day learning how to be part of a pack (has 4 other fur friends), she’s house & crate trained.  She would be best in a home with another dog, she’s pretty active. Applications for the adoption of Roxy can be submitted at socorescue.com by clicking on the Adopt tab and following the links to Adoption Application (no need to Register or Login). Questions about Roxy and/or our adoption process should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com. No phone calls please.*** Within Wheeler Co, GA is a mobile home subdivision that serves as home to a number of low income families. The  mobile homes are all run-down, in need of repair and barely meet the minimum standard for human occupancy.  The trailer park also serves as home to a number of dogs and puppies who roam freely throughout the makeshift subdivision and are in a constant state of uncontrolled breeding and reproduction. While some of the residents claim to own some of the dogs, most of those people do not provide proper care to their dogs due to either not having the financial means or knowledge of how to do so. This has left most of the dogs suffering from various ailments with severe cases of skin issues, such as Demodex mange, affecting most of them. SoCo Rescue receives a number of request from the trailer park's residents seeking help for both owned and stray dogs at the location. While Scott Bennett was answering one such call, he noticed a young female Shepherd mix pup (Roxy) that had been labeled as a "park" dog, or one that had no actual owner. At approximately 4 months old at the time, Roxy was very apprehensive of people and would retreat to a safe distance from Scott when he'd tried to approach her.  Roxy was visibly suffering from a severe skin issue that left her missing fur and red, irritated skin. (See the last two pictures)Roxy would approach children so Scott employed the use of some children to help him catch her.   Roxy's first few weeks at SoCo were spent confined to a crate while receiving treatment of her Demodex mange. This type of mange is hereditary, not contagious, but does cause itchy and painful skin issues. Roxy was also very hesitant of us but did show a desire to interact with the other pups and dogs. Once she had cleared her quarantine status, Roxy was allowed to spend time playing with the other pups and immediately became best friends with a paralyzed young Bulldog named Mya who is very sociable towards people. With Mya's help, Roxy slowly became trusting of humans and even started playing with us. While she is still a bit timid, Roxy has made great progress in her socialization skills and for most likely the first time in her life, enjoying being a healthy and happy dog.   Roxy has now been fully vetted, receiving a full regiment of her annual vaccinations, de-wormings and monthly preventative care in addition to being spayed. She will need additional house and leash training and will benefit from sharing a home with another trained and playful dog being in the home. She'll also do very well in a home with older children who know how to properly interact with a dog.    (NOTE: Roxy has been given Bravecto, a three month flea and tick preventative as it helps combat any form of mange. We strongly recommend continuing with the use of Bravecto. Consult with your veterinarian about Bravecto, which can be ordered online with a prescription from your vet's office.)        Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 29, 2023, 12:35 am
