Story
Are you a chocolate fan? Morocco is very chocolatey! This rock star is around 2 years old and he is a lab/terrier mix. Did we mention what a good boy he is? He is 48lbs and would be an excellent addition to any family. He has that lab personality that makes labs such great pets. Morocco tested well with cats. He would probably chase them but he doesn't want to hurt them. Got a half deflated basketball laying around? Morocco loves playing with them. Fill out an application and come meet this boy!If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
This is Buddy. He is the dog that was abandoned and left tied to the railroad crossing sign just down from the shelter. The train goes by at least every half hour and always sounds off its horn. While having him out a train went by and he shook from head to toe. We have taken him out of his run to hang out in our lobby and he hid under the chair and that's where he stayed. He is very friendly and shows no signs of aggression but he is just petrified. This guy could use a nice quiet home to grow some courage and trust. He is very sweet and will let you give him affection but he does not respond like other dogs do. He just acts like he's waiting for something bad to happen. Not sure what all he's been through but we are positive it was nothing good. He would do well with other pets. If you can find room in your heart and home for Buddy please fill out an application. If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
Who is this handsome hunk? Griffin came to us as a stray in not the best shape. This trusting boy is full of life and just wants to be what he was meant to be, mans best friend. He is 61 lbs with a medium energy level. He is struggling with some anxiety at the shelter. Some dogs struggle more than others with the confinement and poor Griffin is a mess. He is currently on prozac to help with the stresses but so far it is not helping him relax. He is strong boy but with proper leashes he can be handled by most. He tested well with dogs but a meet and greet would be preferred with existing pets. Please consider this bubbly guy for your next family member. If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
Meet Hailey! Hailey is a blue merle Great Dane and she is true to the breed. She is very regal and very big! Although we do not know this girl's true story, we do know that she is very scared and skittish and feels like humans can not be trusted. You can't blame her, she was left abandoned in the country and it took us weeks to win her over and to get her into our care. During her stay she has started to trust the staff. She shys away from people she does not know and who have not earned her trust. She is looking for someone who has all the patience and time in the world to let her settle in. A fenced in yard is a must with Hailey as once she is spooked she is gone to the point of no return. Once she feels safe that will probably change but she will need boundaries until she is established and knows she is in loving hands. Hailey is around a year old and she is one of the most beautiful dogs our shelter has cared for. She will be a great fit for someone who has experience with the breed. As with all large breeds, vetting, medications, boarding, etc all cost more due to her size. Danes are very susceptible to bloat which is a very painful death for many deep chested dogs and very expensive to try to correct. Please keep this in mind when considering a Great Dane for your family. If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
My name is Berlin and I have a job to do. My job is just to look absolutely adorable all of the time. I do not really have to work too hard at it as it comes naturally to me. I love the company of humans and I am probably a good fit with other pets. I travel well and I am not too bad walking on a leash. I am 3 years old so I am fully grown. I am 29 lbs so I am not a tea cup kind of boy. You will not be able to tote me around in your purse but I am a great size for getting around on my own and would make the best travel companion if you want to get out and hit the road.If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
Meet Charlie. He is a smart boy and not much for goofing around. He is a working breed so he always has tasks on his mind. He has been friendly with everyone he has met and might be a good fit with other dogs depending on the temperament. He is a GSD and estimated to be around 5 years old. Toys do not excite him but he does enjoy a good treat. He suffered some injuries before he came to the shelter but he is all healed and doing great. Please fill out an application to come and meet him.If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.
