Story
Binnie is a seven year-old Shih Tzu mix who came to the rescue from a hoarding situation in Michigan.   He did test positive for heartworm disease. After speaking with our vet we don’t see any reason why he can’t move to a foster to adopt home while he undergoes treatment at our vet clinic. It’s about a 4-5 month process which will require a couple of vet visits and medication at home.  For this reason he needs to stay local to Plymouth.  Despite his difficult start, Binnie has a sweet, happy spirit and is ready to find a family of his own. Binnie is dog, friendly and enjoys the company of other pups. He’s currently working on potty training and is doing great in his crate, keeping it clean and dry. Whether you’re looking for a cuddle buddy on the couch or a partner for a little everyday mischief,Binnie is happy to be by your side. Binnie has tested positive for Lyme disease and heartworm disease and is receiving the care he needs. Through it all, he remains a loving, resilient little guy who is ready to start his next chapter. Could Binnie be the missing piece in your family? To apply, please visit, Www.trackingintheshadows.com  ##2736623##

Story
Name: FelixAge: 1 year oldBreed: BichonPersonality: Happy, Peppy, Snuggle-Expert, Professional Window WatcherFelix is a peppy little cloud of happiness who is ready to find his forever people! This easy-going guy spent his time in foster with 4 other dogs and was a perfect gentleman — playful, respectful, and always up for a good romp. He would absolutely LOVE a home with another doggy buddy to play with, though he'd also be thrilled to be your one-and-only.Have a couch? Felix prefers it to the floor. In fact, his favorite spot in the whole world is perched on the back of the couch, watching the world go by like a tiny, fluffy king. Fair warning: he takes his guard-dog duties very seriously. He WILL alert you to all very important neighborhood news — passersby, squirrels, chipmunks, falling leaves... you name it.When it comes to humans, Felix is pure love. He greets everyone with kisses and immediate lap-sits. He gets an A+ in Snuggling and needs to TOUCH — be prepared for a bed partner who will happily press himself right up against you all night long. What Felix is looking for:•  A patient potty coach: He's still honing his potty skills and needs someone willing to keep him on a consistent routine. He's a smart boy and eager to learn!•  A yard to zoom: He walks well on a leash, but with his bouncy energy, a fenced-in yard to burn off the zoomies would be a dream.•  Positive training: He would thrive with some basic obedience training — more for manners than anything else.•  No crate, please: Felix is not a fan of the crate and will very vocally tell you so. He does much better free-roaming with cozy dog beds and couches.•  Family: Respectful kids should be just fine for this social butterfly. We can cat test if needed! If you're looking for a Velcro-dog, window-watching, squirrel-announcing, couch-loving, world-class cuddler who will greet every day like it's the best day ever — Felix is your guy.He is an amazing, easy-going companion with a whole lot of pep and even more love to give. Please live within 1 hour of South Bend.  Applications on our website. Www.trackingintheshadows.com Please apply at www.trackingintheshadows.com. All the animals in the home must be up-to-date on core vaccines and spayed and neutered. We do not allow underground fences, and you must live within an hour of South Bend or Elkhart, IN.  ##2835375##

Story
Chico, 10lbs, Male Chihuahua mix, may only love one person — but he will love them with his whole heart. When Chico first came into rescue he was extremely overweight and struggling to move comfortably. He couldn’t navigate stairs, couldn’t really play, and life had become very small for him. Since then, his foster family has taken his health journey seriously and Chico has already made incredible progress. He’s now navigating stairs, playing with toys, loves walkies and showing the joyful personality that was hiding underneath all that extra weight. Chico forms a deep bond with his person and becomes a loyal little shadow. Once Chico decides you are his human, he will happily follow you from room to room, celebrate your return home with enthusiastic zoomies, and settle in beside you for cozy evenings. His favorite place in the house is the couch (as you can see in his photos). Like many Chihuahuas, Chico can be cautious and a little grumpy with new people at first. With patience and time, Chico forms an incredibly strong connection and becomes deeply devoted to his person. Being chosen by Chico is something special — once he trusts you, he will shower you with the love only a tiny, loyal Chihuahua can give. Because of this, Chico needs a home with teenage children and older who will respect his space and boundaries.  Chico does well with other dogs but should not live in a home with cats. Chico does not require a fenced yard, but he should always be leash-walked outside. Don’t let his short legs fool you — Chico is quick and has shown a bit of an escape artist streak in play yards. Chico is crate trained. In his foster home Chico is typically left out during the day and has very few accidents. Like many small dogs, Chico does best with a consistent potty routine and regular opportunities to go outside. Chico would thrive in a home where his person is around often and can enjoy the companionship of a devoted little sidekick. Chico at a glance • Chico, 10lbs, Male Chihuahua mix• Approximately 10–12 years old• Adoption fee: $75• Neutered and microchipped• Fully vetted for one year• Recently had a dental• Good with other dogs• No cats Once approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet. Approved adopters should be prepared to bring Chico home within 1–3 days of approval. Adopters must live within 1 hour of Elkhart, IN. If you think Chico might be your person, please submit an adoption application at:www.trackingintheshadows.com ##2607048##
