Story
Scruffy’s soulful eyes tell a story of a hard past, but he has a hopeful spirit of better days ahead. He was caught after running free in an Indianapolis neighborhood for 4+ months, visiting with neighbor dogs and eating food that people left out for him. After a few rough days, the shelter sought a foster for him to decompress.  It is clear from his comfort in the home that he was once someone’s pet. He is both potty and crate trained and very food motivated. However, he is fearful of people that try to get too close or touch him.  He tolerates his face touched and allows an occasional nose boop, but all other touch is on his terms. He needs a home that will accept that he may never be a lap dog, but can still be a great companion.  Scruffy is a 20# terrier mix that is roughly 2-3 years old. He is a playful guy. There isn’t a toy he doesn’t want to drag out if the bin and scatter around the house, or a bone he doesn’t want to try out. He loves being with dogs about his size; both to rumble and cuddle.  He walks great on a leash and moves pretty darn fast for a guy with short legs. A secured fence is a must for Scruffy as well as another playful dog in the home.  Scruffy is fully vetted & his adoption fee has been sponsored.  Applications for adoption are at www.trackingintheshadows.com.  Please live within 1 hour of Elkhart, IN. We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved. ##1755169##

Story
Lyra Lyra has mastered the puppy dog eyes - even still at approximately 7 years old. She understands that your couch is our couch, your bed is our bed, makes herself at home, and even updates the Feng Shui of any cushions - free of charge! She is packed full of personality, and loves to be near you as much as possible. Lyra was clearly cared for in her past life, and it's possible she never used to have to potty outside if it was raining or snowing. Despite not being a lover of the elements, she does still adhere to her potty training and makes every effort to "hold it" until she's let outside.  Thus far, she has gotten along with everyone and everything. Anyone - human, dog, or even car - that passes by is a potential new friend, and she is READY to greet them (nicely and quietly). She reads the room really well and doesn't want to start any trouble, but she will absolutely let loose and wrestle, chase, and smack talk if she has a willing playmate. She has not resource guarded anything but bones so far, and is OK if you touch her food, but very very sad if you take it away (even to add to it), or don't put enough food in her bowl to begin with. She will hit you with her signature puppy eyes and they are very effective.  She has some pretty big feelings about being left alone. She is currently on Prozac to help manage those feelings, and she will sing you the song of her people when you leave her. But she does better with another dog in the home, and is an absolute angel while you're gone. She does NOT like being cooped up, caged, or tethered, though. The only time she has ever been destructive is when she has not had free range.  She does OK on the leash - she pulls but listens and distracts you with the little flops of the tips of her ears. Off leash, she gets the zoomies and particularly enjoys spinning in circles. She is also pretty good about coming to you.. Once she has taken in the sights and smells.  We do not know her past. She has several scars, and a knee that's been fixed up. None of that seems to have phased her, however! She is the absolute sweetest dog and just wants to love and be loved. She is very playful and would prefer a home with other pets, and ideally someone who is either retired, works from home, or a home where at least one human is home at any given time.  We've not tested for everything yet - but we suspect she'd be friends with any age of human, and any animal. We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved. ##1840663##

Story
Please live within 1 hour of Elkhart or Plymouth area.   Chip2 years. 13 lbs.  Calling all Pomeranian lovers! Am i the perfect guy for you, my name’s Chip! I’m a super smiley guy just looking for my furever. While in my foster home I’ve been the most cuddley little guy. My foster sisters are bigger than me but that doesn’t stop me from keeping up with them. There are no cats in my current residence so I haven’t yet decided if they are friend or foe.  I have a small human foster brother whom I LOVE. I am so gentle with him and my foster mom says she’s very proud of me. I’ve just been neutered so potty training is still a new concept to me. I’ll go outside, but I won’t tell you when I need to. I do well in my crate but I’m still learning how to stay quiet while in there. I just want everyone to know what I’m thinking!   medical: Chip is still healing from a skin infection and requires medicated baths until fully healed!  If you’re looking for a fluffy friend in your life, look no further! Ask the humans about me and let’s make this happen!Chip has been fully vetted. His adoption fee is $175. Www.trackingintheshadows.com for applications. **We do not accept electric/underground fences. Story
Both Olivia and Annies adoption fee have been sponsored by an anonymous donor Bonded Pair Looking for Oddles of fun? The Doodle girls are ready for adoption! Olivia is 1-2 years old and her bestie Annie is around 11 months. These girls were on the run at Eby Pines Campground for a while. Olivia is a little taller and weighs about 30#. Annie is 20# and slightly smaller in size than Olivia. These golden girls are very bonded to each other. They love other dogs and are fine with cats. They would do best with kids 10 and older. A fenced yard is required. They have come along way with learning what inside life is. They are crated trained and if kept on a good routine also housebroken. Being doodles they will need regular grooming. We are looking for a home that will be patient as they continue to adjust to home life. Olivia is more outgoing and will seek out attention. Annie is shy and while she accepts pets is much more comfortable with her fur friends. They have so much to learn and experience with a family all their own. Must live within an hour of Elkhart to adopt. To apply please visit www.Trackingintheshadows.com Adoption fee has been sponsored     **We do not accept electric/underground fences.
