Story

Paris is a one year-old labrador retriever. She’s about 50 lbs and is a short girl about knee height. She also needs a family willing to train her daily. She's a work in progress. Paris has a super soft black coat with brown undertones that shine through in the light. She will require regular brushing. She’s been doing great with house training and I haven’t had any accidents here but we go out regularly so I’m not confident she’s actually house trained. Paris enjoys the company of other dogs and still working on the dynamics of dog to dog relationship. I imagine as she feels more secure that her true personality will come out. I can go into more details about this once we have an application. Paris reminds me of a dog that was kept in a kennel for the first year of her life. Although super friendly and puppy like when she knows you, she is scared of most new things outside of her safe zone. I have been working hard at opening up her world and making things less scary for her. She’s finally walking on a leash outside of my home, meeting new people and learning that cars are allowed to pass by and won’t hurt her. She is still working on manners and tricks. I’ve taught her sit, down and place so far. We are working on shake. She’s so smart! She’s also an excellent cuddler. Paris does require a secure fenced yard. Kids are ok if respectful of her space. Teddy will be your best friend & will love you unconditionally. He does not require a fence but will need to be on a leash at all times. Teddy is scheduled to go to a 10 week training program the Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan on 10/16/26 where he can learn up to 100 commands. We are seeking a special home for this special needs girl. Stephie is a 3-year-old terrier mix with a heart full of love and a tail that’s wagging 95% of the time! She’s a happy, affectionate girl who thrives on connection and absolutely adores being close to her person. Whether she’s rolling into you for cuddles or waking you up with joyful snuggles, Stephie is all about love and companionship. She enjoys playing in a backyard with other dogs (after slow, proper introductions) and would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard. While she can walk on a leash, she’s still working on her leash manners and will benefit from continued training. Stephie is a sensitive soul and needs a patient adopter who understands that she can be slow to warm up to new people. Once she trusts you, though, her affectionate personality truly shines. She does not do well with loud noises or raised voices, so a calm, quiet home is ideal. Because of this, she would do best in a home without children. Things to know about Stephie: She may resource guard bones She should not be crated or confined New experiences and introductions need to be slow and positive She requires pee pads due to diuretic use Stephie does have some medical needs. She is currently on anti-anxiety medication, although her foster hasn’t observed signs of anxiety. This means they are either working or she doesn't need them! A veterinarian will help determine her long-term needs. She also has a grade 6/6 heart murmur and will require ongoing medication to manage her condition. Despite these challenges, Stephie is an incredibly special dog who will reward the right person with endless love and devotion. She truly is worth the effort Stephanie's adoption fee is $0. Rory is currently in a 10 week training program at Lakeland Correctional Facility. She is available for adoption & will be ready to go home on 10/16/26. Rory came to us after we humanely trapped her on the west side of Elkhart. She joined my home very fearful and unsure of people around her. She has slowly come out of her shell and is meeting new people much faster now. Rory loves to play with all the dogs. Big and small it doesn't matter. She is shy at the first intros. Rory has been gaining confidence here with my dogs and has been a wonderful foster girl. In her free time you can find her playing with the other dogs, chewing on a bone or snoozing away in your lap. She loves to snuggle. She is currently fostered with a kiddo and after the first initial meet, shes been great with her! I estimate her to be 6 months old and about 16 lbs. This girl also has built in springs in her legs. Rory is still grasping the concept of house training and will need to be watched closely.
