Story
Hi, I'm Oreo! About 3 years old | APBT Mix | 56 lbs (with a little more to gain!) I was confiscated from a neglect/hoarding situation with several other dogs, where we were living in conditions no one should be living in. We often had to compete with one another for basic necessities like food and water. Thankfully, those days are over, and now I'm getting the care, love, and second chance I've always deserved! Despite everything, I'm still a friendly, outgoing guy who loves people and is ready to start enjoying life. Friendly and affectionate Outgoing personality Well-mannered Keeps a clean kennel  I've lived with other dogs my entire life and I have a few doggie friends here at the shelter. We expect I'll do well with proper introductions!  Because of my background, we'd simply recommend supervising interactions around high-value items like food, treats, and favorite toys if there are other pets in the home considering I had limited food, water and resources in my previous home. I seem to be cat friendly! I met the office cat and showed polite curiousity without any signs of aggression. As with any new pet, we'd still recommend slow introductions and supervising interactions until everyone is comfortable if there are any cats in the home. And did I mention I'm great with kiddos?! I am so gentle with them.  I'm house trained, dog friendly, cat friendly & kid friendly, making me an easy addition to almost any home!  Maybe that home is yours?   Neutered, microchipped, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $100.   If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Story
Hi, I'm Thor! 1 year old | APBT Mix | 44 lbs If you ask me... life is way too short not to have fun! I came from a neglect/hoarding case where nine of us were living in conditions no one should ever have to endure. We often had to compete with one another for basic necessities like food and water just to survive. But somehow... none of that took away my happy spirit!   When I first arrived at the shelter, staff thought I had a badly broken front leg because my right front leg is bent. During my neuter surgery, the veterinarian examined it and believes it's most likely a deformity of my wrist joint that I was born with rather than an old fracture! Since X-rays weren't taken, we can't say that with complete certainty, but one thing is certain... It doesn't slow me down one bit!! I run, play, zoom around, play with my dog friends, and enjoy life just like any other young dog. I don't let my unique little leg hold me back, and you shouldn't either. While it has never seemed to bother me, my future family may want to have their own veterinarian evaluate it during my first wellness visit to determine if any additional diagnostics or long-term recommendations would be beneficial. A daily joint supplement may also be a great addition to help support my joints as I grow older!   Sweet and affectionate Playful, energetic, and full of spunk Dog friendly Loves to have fun Ready for a lifetime of adventures I've lived with other dogs my entire life and have done well with them. We expect I'll continue to do well with proper introductions. I seem to be cat friendly as well! Based on my friendly, goofy personality, we also expect I'll do well with respectful children. However, I'm a strong rambunctious boy who may accidentally knock them over out of excitement. until I get a little guidance with basic manners.   I'll likely need a little guidance with potty training and house manners as well, but with a consistent routine, patience, and positive reinforcement, I'll catch on quickly!   I'm looking for someone who sees past where I came from, smiles at my one-of-a-kind leg, laughs at my goofy personality, and gives me the chance to spend the rest of my life doing what I do best... being a happy dog.   Neutered, microchipped, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $100   If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Story
Hi, I'm Marco! I'm a 1.5-year-old Shepherd mix looking for a fresh start and a family of my own. I came to the shelter as a stray in pretty rough shape. I was extremely underweight, but despite everything, I've stayed friendly and loving with the people around me. I absolutely love attention and am always happy to make new human friends! Because I went so long without enough food, treats are basically my love language these days! The good news is that being food motivated makes me eager to learn, and I think I'll be a lot of fun to train. I haven't officially been introduced to other dogs yet, but staff thinks I should do well with proper introductions. I haven't met any cats at the shelter either, but they'll update my profile once they learn more!   I'm still a young guy, and while I haven't been around children here, the staff expects I'd do well with respectful kiddos. Life at the shelter has been pretty stressful for me, so we're not sure if I'm fully potty trained. Staff suspects I may have spent most of my life outdoors, but with a consistent schedule, patience, and positive reinforcement, they think I'll catch on quickly! What I need most right now is someone willing to see past where I started and focus on where I'm headed. I've already come a long way. Now I'm just waiting for a family to help me write the next chapter.   Neutered | Microchipped | Heartworm negative | Up to date on vaccines & monthly preventatives. Adoption Fee is $100.   Marco did test postive for Lyme Disease. We did his treatment of Doxycycline and he has been given a Lyme Vaccine. He should recieve a Lyme Vaccine yearly and be kept current on tick/heartworm prevention year round.    Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by submitting an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Please allow 24-36 hours for staff to review. If approved, we'll reach out to schedule a meet and greet! If you have other dogs, they'll need to come with you. Some dogs may require all members of the household to come as well. If it’s a good fit, you may take your new best friend home that same day! We also offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it’s the right match for everyone!   Adoption Hours: Mon & Sat: 11 AM – 4 PM | Tue & Fri: 11 AM – 5 PM | Wed: 11 AM – 6 PM | Thur & Sun: CLOSED ##2768790##

Story
Hi, I'm Allie! 1-2 years old | APBT Mix | 40 lbs (with a little more to gain!) Though life hasn't always been kind to me... you'd never know it by the way I greet people! I was confiscated from a neglect/hoarding situation with several other dogs, where we were living in conditions no one should be living in and life was all about surviving instead of simply being a dog. We often had to compete for things like food and water just to get by. But somehow, through it all, I never lost my happy spirit.   I'm a bubbly, energetic, happy-go-lucky girl who gets excited to see people and is ready to start living the life I've always deserved! Sweet and affectionate Fun, playful personality Energetic and eager to explore Has lived with other dogs Ready to learn and experience life Because of my past, I'm still learning all about living as a beloved family pet. I'll likely need a little guidance with potty training and house manners, but with a consistent routine and lots of positive reinforcement, I should catch on quickly! I'm still young and eager to learn.   I have lived with other dogs my entire life, so with proper introductions, I should do just fine with another dog.  Because I used to have to compete for basic necessities like food and water, it's recommended to supervise me around meals and high-value treats while I learn that there's always enough to go aroudn and I never have to fight for those things again.    I seem to be cat friendly! I met the office cat with polite curiousity and no signs of aggression. I'm expected to do just fine with kiddos, as long as they're respectful!   More than anything, I'm looking for someone who will show me what it's like to be loved, safe, and part of a family. I missed out on so much during the first part of my life... but I have a feeling the best part of my story is still waiting to be written.   Spayed, microchipped, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $100.   If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Story
Hi, I’m Kyra! 2 Years old | 49# |  American Bulldog mix While my story before arriving here is a bit of a mystery, everyone says I’m a pretty sweet girl!   I have been friendly with everyone I’ve met so far and I’ve been keeping my kennel nice and clean, which my shelter friends think is a pretty good sign!  I made friends with a male dog here at the shelter, so I should do fine with another dog with proper introductions! I will say I seem to prefer male dogs though.  However, I am not a fan of kitties! Unfortunately, I think they look more like snacks than friends, so I'll need a home without them.    Little kids seem to make me a little nervous, but staff thinks it's just because I've never been around them before! I should do well with respectful kiddos with proper introductions as well.   I’m hoping someone will give me the chance to leave shelter life behind and show them who I really am. I have a feeling once I’m settled into a home, my personality is going to bloom! Could I be the missing piece your family has been looking for?    Spayed, microchipped, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention.  Adoption fee is $100.    If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours.
