Story
Meet Rufus, a 5-year-old mixed breed who is long overdue for a home and someone to call his own. Hound Mix | About 5 yrs old | 60 lb  Rufus originally came to FCAC from another shelter that ran out of space. When he first arrived there, he was in rough shape with a painful skin infection and patchy fur. After treatment, and a proper diet, he’s healing beautifully and his sweet personality is finally shining through!   Rufus is friendly, loving, and full of personality! He can be a little reserved at first, which makes sense… he’s been through a lot. Once he knows you’re safe, he’s gentle and incredibly easy to love. Here’s what else you should know: Allergic to chicken — he does best on salmon-based food May need allergy meds (which FCAC can provide even after adoption!) Dog friendly with dogs closer to his size Needs a home without cats, small dogs, or small animals — he has strong hound instincts Expected to do well with children Rufus has been waiting far too long, and he deserves a family who will give him the comfort and stability he’s missed for so long. He’s healing, he’s hopeful, and he’s ready for his next chapter. If you’ve got room in your home, and in your heart, Rufus might just be your dog.   Neutered | Microchipped I Heartworm & Lyme negative | Current on vaccinations & preventatives | Adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED thanks to a generous donor.    Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by submitting an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted, staff will review your application. If approved, we'll reach out to schedule a meet and greet! If you have other dogs, they'll need to come as well to ensure compatability.   If it’s a good fit, you may take your new best friend home that same day! We also offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it’s the right match for everyone.   Adoption Hours: Mon & Sat: 11 AM – 4 PM | Tue & Fri: 11 AM – 5 PM | Wed: 11 AM – 6 PM | Thur & Sun: CLOSED ##2579899##

Story
NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS! AVAILABLE 2/4 Hi, I'm Blaire! 1 year old | Labrador mix | 35 pounds I’m just as sweet as I am adorable. I’m a petite girl with a friendly personality, a gentle heart, and lots of love to give. I came to the shelter with my dad (Labrador) due to changes in our owner’s life circumstances, and now I’m ready to find a family of my very own.   I’m very friendly, dog friendly, and I do great with kids. I enjoy being around people and other dogs, and I have that happy, social lab energy. I’ve never been around cats before, so I haven’t been tested with them yet, but the shelter will update once they know more.   I’m mostly potty trained, though I may need a little extra guidance as I continue learning. My previous owner shared that I still had an occasional accident and sometimes chewed on things, but that’s pretty normal for a young girl like me. With consistency, routine, crate training and some patience, I’ll shine!   I’m young, adaptable, and full of potential. I’m the kind of dog who could fit into almost any family and grow right alongside you.   If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly dog with lots of love to give, I might be the perfect match for you   Spayed, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $100   If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted, staff will review during open hours. If approved, we contact you to set up a meet and greet! If it's a match, you can take home on the same day. Any other dogs in the home must come in for a meet & greet! Some dogs may require all family members to come to the meet & greet as well! Please allow 24-36 hours for a response, depending on the business hours in which you submitted your application.   We do offer a 2 week foster to adopt trial time, to be sure the chosen pet is a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!    See all of our adoptable pets here:: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/adoptable-dogs-and-cats   Adoption Hours Monday & Saturday 11am-4pm Tuesday & Friday 11am-5pm Wednesday 11am-6pm Thursday & Sunday CLOSED ##2648189##

Story
Hi, I’m Burt — your future oversized best friend and certified goofball. 2.5 years old | Shepherd/Hound mix | 95 lbs of love   If you’ve ever dreamed of having a gentle giant who looks at you like you’re the best thing in the universe…that's me! I’m known for my big, goofy smile and even bigger heart. I’m house trained, well mannered, and full of personality. I’m also a bit of a talker, I love expressing my thoughts & being the center of attention! I showed up as a stray, so my past is a bit of a mystery. But one thing is clear:I absolutely LOVE humans. I’m affectionate, playful, goofy and bond deeply with people close to me.   I’m truly a great dog, I'm just looking for a home without other dogs, cats or any small animals! I'm a natural hunter at heart. I can be friendly with other big dogs in passing and short introductions, but I think I'd do best as your one and only. I recently went to foster-to-adopt home with another big dog, but I think I prefer my own space.   But here’s something pretty amazing:My adoption fee is COMPLETELY sponsored by Joe’s Hope Foundation in honor of Deb Ogle, which means my future family can take me home for FREE! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh, make you feel loved, and make every day a little brighter… come meet me. I’m so ready to be someone’s big love.   Neutered, Heartworm & Lyme negative, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.    Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by filling out an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once we receive your application, a staff member will review it and contact you to schedule a meet and greet. If you already have dogs at home, they must attend the meet and greet as well.   If it’s a good fit, you may be able to take your new best friend home the same day! Story
Meet Ruby 2 years old | Hound Mix (Likely Plott Hound or Mountain Cur)| Female • House trained & crate trained• Very active, playful, and affectionate with her people• Likes kids and enjoys being part of the action• Incredibly smart, young & full of potential! Ruby is a confident girl who is full of personality and loves people!   Other Dogs:Ruby has lived with other dogs but can be protective of her space and attention. She's not afraid to tell other dogs to "get out of my face!"  She will likely do best with a laid back dog who gives her space, with an experienced owner who understands proper introductions and boundaries, or as the only pet. Cats:She doesn't seem to mind cats but wants to chase them when they run. With some guidance & redirection, they should be able to coexist. However, a home without cats might be easiest!   Ruby is still young and very adaptable. She has so much potential. In the right home, she will absolutely thrive!   Spayed, microchipped, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Story
Hi, I’m Hershey! 2 years old | Labrador Retriever mix | 68 pounds   I’m a happy go lucky guy with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. I came to the shelter with my daughter due to changes in my owner’s life circumstances, and now I’m ready for my next chapter!   I’m friendly, playful, and overall well mannered. I’m potty trained, crate trained, and good with kids. I really enjoy being around people and soaking up attention. I’m dog friendly and do well around other dogs. I’ve never been around cats before, so I haven’t been tested with them yet, but the shelter will update once they know more.   My previous owner did mention that I can be a bit of a chewer, so regular exercise and some guidance with boundaries will help me stay on track. I was also known to be an escape artist, so a secure fence or keeping me on a leash is best for me.    If you’re looking for a well mannered, playful, people loving guy who’s ready to be part of your family, submit an application!   Neutered, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention.
