Story
Hi, I’m Rufus, and I’m here today because someone believed my life was worth saving. Hound Mix | About 5 yrs old | 60 lb   I’m gentle, sweet, and one of the lucky ones! I was at risk of euthanasia at another shelter, but the director here at FCAC stepped in and gave me a chance… a chance to live, to heal, and to finally find a family who will love me. The shelter I came from said I arrived with another dog, so it’s suspected that I’m dog friendly. Here at FCAC, I haven’t shown any reactivity toward other dogs at all. We haven’t officially tested me with dogs yet, but I am reactive towards small dogs and cats, so I will probably do best in a home without small animals!    I had a pretty bad skin infection, but I've been treated for it and I’m feeling so much better! I just need some good-quality food and a little time for my fur to grow back in full and shiny again.   I’m ready to leave my past behind and start fresh with someone who sees how special I am.   Neutered | Microchipped I Heartworm & Lyme negative | Current on vaccinations & preventatives | Adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED thanks to a generous donor.    Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by submitting an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted, staff will review your application. If approved, we'll reach out to schedule a meet and greet! If you have other dogs, they'll need to come as well to ensure compatability.   If it’s a good fit, you may take your new best friend home that same day! We also offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it’s the right match for everyone.   Adoption Hours: Mon & Sat: 11 AM – 4 PM | Tue & Fri: 11 AM – 5 PM | Wed: 11 AM – 6 PM | Thur & Sun: CLOSED ##2579899##

Story
Hi, I’m Burt — your future oversized best friend and certified goofball. 2.5 years old | Shepherd/Hound mix | 95 lbs of love   If you’ve ever dreamed of having a gentle giant who looks at you like you’re the best thing in the universe… well, hi. That’s me. I’m known for my big, goofy smile and my even bigger heart. I’m house trained, well mannered, and walk beautifully on a leash. I’m also a bit of a talker — I love having little “conversations” with my people. I’ve got lots of thoughts, mostly about snacks and how much I adore you! I showed up as a stray, so my past is a bit of a mystery. But one thing is clear:I absolutely LOVE humans.I’m gentle, affectionate, and I bond deeply with the people who show me kindness.   I haven’t officially met other dogs here yet, but everyone thinks I might do well with another dog around my size. Unfortunately, I cannot live with cats, small dogs, or any small animals. I’m truly a great dog, I just think small animals look too much like "snacks". But here’s something pretty amazing:My entire adoption fee has been completely sponsored by Joe’s Hope Foundation in honor of Deb Ogle, which means my future family can take me home for FREE! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh, make you feel loved, and make every day a little brighter… come meet me. I’m so ready to be someone’s big love.   Neutered, Heartworm & Lyme negative, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.    Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by filling out an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once we receive your application, a staff member will review it and contact you to schedule a meet and greet. If you already have dogs at home, they must attend the meet and greet as well.   If it’s a good fit, you may be able to take your new best friend home the same day! We also offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it’s the right match for everyone.   Adoption Hours Monday & Saturday: 11 AM – 4 PM |Tuesday & Friday: 11 AM – 5 PM |Wednesday: 11 AM – 6 PM | Thursday & Sunday: CLOSED ##2521397##

Story
Hi, I’m Patty!APBT Mix | 2 yr old | 41 lb   I came to the shelter with my little family after we were found abandoned and trying our best to survive on our own. Even then, I stayed close to my pups and kept them safe. When we arrived, we were all completely covered in ticks and every single one of us tested positive for Lyme disease. I’ve finished my treatment now and feeling so much better! Now I'm ready for a fresh start and a home of my own.   I’m the definition of a sweetheart. I’m petite, gentle, and so easy to love. I'm potty trained and I enjoy meeting new people. I’m dog friendly and don't seem to mind cats! With my calm, loving personality, I’ll probably do wonderful with kids, which makes me a perfect fit for just about any family!   I’ve been a devoted mom, a survivor, and a gentle soul through everything life has thrown at me. Now I’m ready for someone who will love me back just as much as I love them.   Spayed | Heartworm negative | Current on vaccinations & preventatives. Story
Hi, I’m Buster! Approximately 3-4Years Old | Mixed Breed | 45 lbs (and working on filling out!)   I showed up one day at someone’s house near Fletcher’s Lake — hungry, skinny, and covered in cuts, scrapes, and fleas. I had nowhere else to go. Animal Control came to help me and brought me to the shelter, but no one ever came looking or claimed me. I guess I was just forgotten somewhere along the way.   Even after everything, I’m still such a friendly guy with a big heart and a goofy personality. I’ve got the cutest little curled tail that seems to have a mind of its own! I love people and haven’t been reactive toward other dogs in passing. I do think chasing kitties looks like fun, so I’d do best in a home without them.   Now that I’m gaining weight and getting healthy again, all I really want is a family to love me back — someone who will make sure I’m never left behind again.   My adoption fee has been FULLY sponsored, thanks to Suzanne's Crochet Critters, and I go home with an adorable handmade replica of me! Neutered, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention.   If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted our staff will review and then contact you to set up a meet and greet! Story
Hi, I’m Taro! Mixed Breed | 4 yrs old | 50 lbs   I came to the shelter as a stray, and sadly, my owner never came for me. But I believe that just means my true family is still out there—and I’m ready for my second chance!   I arrived underweight and dealing with some skin dermatitis (you might notice the missing fur around my mouth). With a little TLC, good food, and time, my coat will grow back beautifully—and I’m already feeling so much better!   I’ve lived with other dogs before and did well with them. While I haven’t officially met kids or cats here at the shelter just yet, my friends say they’ll keep everyone updated once I do.   At first, I can be a little cautious with new people. But if you give me just a moment to warm up, my sweet personality shines through. I’m looking for someone patient and kind, who will help me learn that it’s safe to trust again—and in return, you’ll gain a loving best friend who will never let you down.   Could you be the one to show me what it feels like to finally be home?   Neutered, Heartworm & Lyme negative, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $100 and I go home with 12 months of FREE heartworm/flea & tick prevention! ($350 value)   Interested in meeting and possibly adopting?
