Story
Meet Budster! Just over 1 year old, 31# and a Corgi - Husky mix. Budster was surrendered to us after his owner could no longer care for him.   He is a quirky little guy! And always looks inquisitive with his adorable head tilts when something is interesting to him!   Budster lived with kids in his past home and did great with them. He also lived with another dog and was great with it as well! He is very over interested in kitties, and will chase them if they run! It is likely best if no cats are in his new home.    Budster has a genetic or old injury to his back leg. It gives him a bit of a limp, but it doesn't stop him from doing life! We recommend he is started on joint medication and stays on it for his lifetime. We recommend his new owner has a relationship with a veterinarian who can offer medical advice and direction; if it is needed throughout the rest of his life.   He is potty trained throughout the days here with us, but doesn't keep a clean kennel overnight. Budster will need a patient new owner that can help him achieve being completely potty trained and kept on a routine and schedule.   Neutered, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $100.   If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted our staff will review and then contact you to set up a meet and greet! If it's a match, you can take home on the same day. Any other dogs in the home must come in for a meet & greet! Some dogs may require all family members to come to the meet & greet as well! Please allow 24-36 hours for a response, depending on the business hours in which you submitted your application. We do offer a 2 week foster to adopt trial time, to be sure the chosen pet is a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!    See all of our adoptable pets here:: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/adoptable-dogs-and-cats   Adoption Hours Monday & Saturday 11am-4pm Tuesday & Friday 11am-5pm Wednesday 11am-6pm Thursday & Sunday CLOSED ##2661453##

Story
Hi… I’m Max. About 5 years old | 77 lbs | American Bulldog Mix   Once you get to know me, you'll see I have a really gentle heart. I came to the shelter after my family had to move and couldn’t take me with them. My story has a few question marks, but what I can tell you is I’m house trained and overall pretty well mannered.   I can be shy at first. New places and new people make me pause and take things in. But give me a little time and I warm up into a sweet, loving guy. I’m not chaotic or over the top. I’m calm. I’m observant. I bond deeply once I feel safe.   I seem to do well with other dogs. Cats are still unknown, but the shelter will update once they learn more. I’d likely do well with respectful kids.   I’m not looking for a loud or overwhelming life. I’m looking for steady. Kind. Consistent. Someone who sees the quiet dogs and understands we love just as deeply, sometimes even more. If you want a gentle soul who will choose you every day once he feels secure, I’m right here.   Neutered, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $100 If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Story
Meet Rufus, a 5-year-old mixed breed who is long overdue for a home and someone to call his own. Hound Mix | About 5 yrs old | 60 lb  Rufus originally came to FCAC from another shelter that ran out of space. When he first arrived there, he was in rough shape with a painful skin infection and patchy fur. After treatment, and a proper diet, he’s healing beautifully and his sweet personality is finally shining through!   Rufus is friendly, loving, and full of personality! He can be a little reserved at first, which makes sense… he’s been through a lot. Once he knows you’re safe, he’s gentle and incredibly easy to love. Here’s what else you should know: Allergic to poultry — No food or treats with chicken, turkey or duck! He does best on salmon-based food.  Will likely need allergy meds (which FCAC can provide even after adoption!) Dog friendly with dogs closer to his size Needs a home without cats, small dogs, or small animals — he has strong hound instincts! Small children make him nervous, would do best with adults or older, respectful kiddos! Rufus has been waiting far too long, and he deserves a family who will give him the comfort and stability he’s missed for so long. He’s healing, he’s hopeful, and he’s ready for his next chapter. If you’ve got room in your home, and in your heart, Rufus might just be your dog.   Neutered | Microchipped I Heartworm & Lyme negative | Current on vaccinations & preventatives | Adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED thanks to a generous donor.    Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by submitting an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted, staff will review your application. If approved, we'll reach out to schedule a meet and greet! If you have other dogs, they'll need to come as well to ensure compatability.   If it’s a good fit, you may take your new best friend home that same day! We also offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it’s the right match for everyone.   Adoption Hours: Mon & Sat: 11 AM – 4 PM | Tue & Fri: 11 AM – 5 PM | Wed: 11 AM – 6 PM | Thur & Sun: CLOSED ##2579899##

Story
Hi, I’m Tank. 5 months old | Australian Cattle Dog Mix | currently 25 lbs (and growing!) Right now I’m about 20 pounds, but I’m still pretty underweight. When my sibling and I first arrived, we were both extremely skinny. Food hadn’t always been something we could count on. I’m learning now that meals come every day. That I don’t have to scarf it down. That I don’t have to compete to survive. I did show some food guarding with my sister at first, but that came from being unsure and feeling like I had to protect what little I had. I’m young, smart, and very adaptable, so with consistency and guidance, I’m already learning that food is no longer a limited resource.   Now let’s talk about the fun stuff! I’m a Cattle Dog mix, which means I’m not just cute, I’m clever. I was built to have a job. I love using my brain. I’ll thrive with training sessions, puzzle toys, adventures, games, and anything that lets me think and move. Mental enrichment and physical exercise are not optional for a guy like me, they’re how I shine. The good news? I’m at the perfect age to learn anything you want to teach me. Basic manners, cool tricks, hiking buddy skills, agility, scent work, you name it. I’m your eager little overachiever just waiting for direction. Like any young puppy, I’ll need structure, boundaries, and consistency with potty training, crate training, and house manners. What I learn now will shape who I become. With positive leadership and continued socialization, I’ll be the bestest boy! Right now I’m doing well with other dogs, cats, and kids but will need continued socialization to stay this way. I’m not just looking for a home. I’m looking for a teammate. Someone who wants a smart, active, loyal best friend to grow up with. If you’re ready for puppy energy, puppy kisses, and a lifetime of adventure, I’m ready to give you my whole heart.     Neutered, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention.Adoption fee is $140     If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted, our staff will review during open hours. Story
Meet Sammy! 4 years old | Hound Mix | 44lbs    Sammy is the kind of dog who fits easily into just about any family. At 4 years old, he’s past the wild puppy stage but still active, playful, and ready for fun!   He’s a friendly, well mannered boy who already knows the basics of living in a home. Sammy is potty trained and crate trained.  One of the best things about Sammy is how well he gets along with others. He’s friendly with dogs, cats, and kids, making him an easy addition to most families!   Sammy loves spending time outside, whether it’s exploring the yard, going for walks, or just enjoying fresh air with his people. And if you want to win him over instantly… bacon treats are the way to his heart.   Overall, Sammy is a well rounded, easygoing dog who is simply looking for an active family to share life with.   If you’re looking for a friendly boy who is already house trained and great with just about everyone, Sammy may be the perfect match for you!   Neutered, Heartworm Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Story
Hi, I’m Bub. I’m about 3 years old and weigh 88 pounds of classic Lab personality. Big, happy, and always ready to be part of the action!   I came to the shelter after my family had to move and couldn’t take me with them. I was raised in a home where I didn’t get much exposure to the outside world, so a lot of things are brand new to me. I've never really walked on a leash before and wearing a collar is something I’m still getting used to. My whole life I was used to my fenced in yard, so structure and routine are going to be important for me as I learn how to navigate this big world. The good news is I absolutely love people. I’m very friendly, affectionate, and thrive on attention. I’m the kind of dog who wants to be near you and involved in whatever you’re doing. I’d likely do well with respectful kids who understand I’m a large, enthusiastic guy. When it comes to other dogs, I seem friendly with female dogs but I’m not very fond of other male dogs, so a home without male dogs would likely be the best fit for me. I haven’t been tested with cats yet, so that’s still to be determined. I’m your typical happy go lucky Lab with energy to burn and a heart full of potential. I’ll need guidance, boundaries, and consistency to help me polish up my manners, but I’m eager to learn. With the right person, I’m going to be an incredible, loyal companion. If you’re looking for a big, joyful best friend who just needs a little direction and a lot of love, I’m ready to meet you.   Neutered, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is SPONSORED for an approved adopter!   If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours.
