Story
Meet Oliver, or “Ollie” as we call him! Ollie is a purebred Shih Tzu who weighs about 20 pounds. He turned 6 years old on January 26, 2026.Ollie is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves to cuddle and be close to his people. He’s very loyal and protective of his family. He enjoys going for walks, getting lots of attention, and taking plenty of naps throughout the day. He sheds very little and has a wonderful personality. He can be a little picky with his food, but he’ll eat when he’s hungry. Ollie doesn’t do well with fireworks or other loud noises, and if he gets frightened, he may occasionally have an accident in the house. Otherwise, he is potty trained.Ollie does have allergies, but they are well-managed with medication. He is current on all of his vaccinations and will be due for his next set in November. He is professionally groomed every 4–5 weeks since the hair around his face grows quickly and can affect his vision if not trimmed. He knows sit, shake (hand), and up for treats.

Story
My name is Pippin and I come in like a wrecking ball! If you need a fun loving ball of energy ready to zoom around your home and your heart then come meet Pippin! Pippin loves life, people, treats, toys and chaos! You wont find a dog who wants to be your best friend in a tiny stocky package than this girl. At the young age of 1 she is still learning her manners and really needs to work on that mouthy playing but she is easily corrected and willing to learn and overall wants to please her people. She would do best in a home with a dog who can meet her energy and probably submit to her as she has some dominate behavior. She is not recommend to go to a home with a cat, while she may not intentionally hurt the cat she definitely wanted to chase the cats and may not be as gentle as she should be since she doesn't seem to realize her strength. Her cute face and little snorts are sure to steal your heart. Come out and meet me and see if I will fit in to your life.We are starting to work with Pippin with an e-collar, and she is responding very well! Do not worry, our behaviorist is trained with the e-collar and Pippin is on one of the lowest settings, and we are already seeing improvement when it comes to helping her refocus and realize she needs to settle! If you are interested in adopting, we will help train you on the e-collar use to continue to help her with her needs! Story
Zeus is a beautiful Staffordshire Terrier mix coming in at 6 years old he still has a lot of life left in him. Zeus came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. Through his owners we learned that Zeus isnt a fan of young children. Like many the fast movements of young children are just to much for him. His past owners let us know that Zeus is good with other dogs but prefers female dogs. They told us that Zeus is potty trained as well! From having Zeus with us we have learned that Zeus loves to play tug and is very vocal when playing but isn't mean at all. Zeus loves attention and time with his people. For being 6 years old this guy still has plenty of energy so be ready for a more active dog! We believe Zeus would be best in a home with no cats as he has displayed some prey drive! If your willing Zeus would love for you to take him on a walk and have you get to know him a little better!Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me! Story
Hi there! I'm Zora and I am 7 years old. I am a sweet girl that is very loving and cuddly once I get to know you! I am a little wary of strangers, but when I realize you are not going to hurt me or my people, we are good! I do very well with kids and consider them my own! I can be hyper when I want to but for the most part, I am just a chill gal. While I am not a fan of other dogs, I have successfully lived with a cat before! There are times when I really don't act my age... I love tug of war and I will win. I love to play fetch (though this old dog could learn a new trick of 'drop it') and will chase balls all day until I tire myself out! My owner could not keep me for reasons outside of my control. They let the shelter know that I am housetrained and cratetrained, loving and cuddly and do well with kids!Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me!
