Story
Sugar is a sweet dog. She does well with kids, is usually a bit scared of other animals at first, but acclimates relatively quickly (though she can be jealous at times so she would probably do best with no other pets). She is 7 years old and LOVES to be right by your side. Sugar enjoys taking naps and following you around the house. She isn’t very active and is very much a home body. Sugar would make a great family dog or a dog for someone who is home often, as she needs more attention than most. Ideally, she needs to be walked a few times a week, but she doesn’t do much exercise outside of that. Sugar has no history of aggression and is very loving. She would love to be your new best friend!

Story
Hi, I’m Alaska and just like the state, I’m beautiful! I, along with my pups and their father, were found abandoned. WAAL stepped in and found us amazing fosters, so our life has really turned around. Now that all nine of the pups are thriving and in good care, it’s time to find my forever home. I can still be a bit cautious with humans, but they quickly win me over. I fit easily into any household with other doggies and children because I get along with them all. I’m very food motivated and easily trained: I already know how to “sit” and “stay”. Since I was food deprived, I’ll need a consistent feeding schedule, or I’ll go in search of food. Nothing better than a good treat or bully stick! I'm potty-trained, crate-trained and ready to meet you! To meet me, fill out an application at waalrescue.org/adopt.

Story
Meet Chiquita, a sweet girl who will steal your socks, shoes, and heart! A bit reserved with new people, Chiquita quickly warms up once she knows she's safe. Once she's comfortable, she will stick close by your side through thick and thin. She doesn't much care for being picked up but will happily cuddle and snuggle. Chiquita gets kitty cats. As for dogs, she would need a small, calm dog who will give her space. Chickens not so much (she says they look too yummy to resist chasing)! This sweet girl has lots of energy and would enjoy having a furry playmate and/or active human. Crate-trained and potty-trained, Chiquita can't wait to meet you and find her furever people. To meet her, go to waalrescue.org/adopt and fill out an application.

Story
Hi there! 🐾 I'm a fun-loving, playful Rhodesian Ridgeback who's looking for a family to call my own! I LOVE to cuddle and will happily curl up next to you after a fun playtime. 🎉 I do play a bit rough sometimes, so I’m working on being a little gentler—I'm learning, I promise! Because I get so excited, I’d probably do best with older kids who can handle my enthusiastic play. I'm potty trained, crate trained, and do very well with other doggies so no worries there! I might be a little reserved when I first meet new people, but once I get to know you I'm all about those belly rubs and snuggles. Can’t wait to find my forever family! 💕🐶 To meet me, go to waalrescue.org/adopt and fill out an application.
