Story
If you’ve ever believed that joy isn’t measured in perfect steps… Fiona is ready to prove it. 💙 Fiona is a beautiful Husky girl with the most expressive eyes and an even more expressive personality. She is happy, affectionate, playful, and completely unaware that she’s any different from any other dog. Fiona has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) — a neurological condition that affects balance and coordination. The cerebellum is the part of the brain that controls fine motor movement, and in dogs with CH, it didn’t fully develop before birth. What does that mean for Fiona? It means she’s a little wobbly. She uses a wheelchair to walk and stand. Her movements are uncontrolled and floppy. She can lose her balance when she gets excited. What it does not mean: • It is not progressive (it will not get worse) • It is not contagious • It is not painful • It does not affect her intelligence or her ability to love Fiona is bright, engaged, and full of personality. She runs (in her own adorable way), she plays, she cuddles, and she lives life with pure Husky enthusiasm. The Home Fiona Needs 🏡 Because of her wobbliness, Fiona needs: A home with minimal stairs (or someone willing to assist her) Non-slip flooring or rugs for traction A family who understands she may need a little patience while navigating new spaces Gentle, respectful children if present Another kind, stable dog could be wonderful — rough, high-energy playmates may not be ideal She does not need constant medical intervention. She just needs a safe environment set up for success and a family who sees her ability instead of her difference. Fiona will likely never be a marathon runner — but she will absolutely be your couch companion, your sunshine greeter, your loyal shadow, and the most endearing little wobble you’ve ever seen. Special needs? Maybe. Special heart? Absolutely. If you believe that perfection comes in many forms, Fiona is waiting to wobble right into your life. 🐾✨ Apply to meet Fiona and let her show you that different is beautiful. www.pawsitivetailskc.org
