Meet Granite! Weight: 49 lbs Granite is a super outgoing and affectionate young gal, she can be a little nervous meeting new people but quickly warms up after some patience and yummy treats! She has been such a joy to have here at the shelter but we're ready to share her with the world! Granite knows sit, and paw and loves to show off her zoomies in the yard with her cute short legs, and chonky self. This playful girl is looking for an active family that enjoys the outdoors. Sweet Granite loves to hike especially on a long line where she can safely explore. She does a pretty good job entertaining herself as long as you have toys and interesting things around. We think Granite would pair well with another well rounded social dog as long as their meet and greet went well, so please have them tag along for any meet and greets! Granite would like her home to have no cats, or small animals, please! We ask that any kiddos that would live with Granite, or come over often tag along for the meet and greet! If you have questions or want to meet with this lovely lady come on down!

Story
Meet Pikachu! Weight: 59 lbsWe don't even know where to start with this pup, Pikachu has made strides since coming to us in August as a stray. He's really learned how to get to know new staff and people quickly, he's slowly learning the outside world isn't so scary. We've learned Pikachu loves car rides, and pup cups! Pikachu is looking for an experienced dog handler home, one that has worked with a dog that is eager to learn and grow. Training must be a priority in his forever home to help Pika in the long run, and confidence building. His home should be prepared to likely have to come meet him a few times before he feels confident to go home. Pikachu recently went into foster with one of our staff members and here are some things we've learned: He absolutely needs another confident canine companion, he relies on other canines for emotional support, a lot. He is in foster with another playful male, and a female dog. He doesn't seem to mind the feline in home, but any odd movements the feline makes (jumping off of counters, loud thuds, moving cat trees) you can definitely tell he doesn't have a lot of experience with it. Pikachu doesn't necessarily need a fenced in yard, although his foster has one, because we, at the shelter have history of him being a fence jumper, the foster keeps him on a 40 foot long lead - where he can still have his freedom to run in the fenced in area but in the event of an emergency, there is a back up. If, no fenced in yard - being on a long lead/runner will be important.Pikachu does phenomenal in his crate, during the day he is crated next to his foster siblings, and appreciates it. At night, the crate is located next to the bed of his foster and that helps him feel like he has company. Pikachu relies heavily on companionship, and he is an excellent dog. Seeing how wonderful he's transitioned into his foster home, we have no doubt he'll be a great companion in his forever home. Please submit an application if you're interested in meeting Pikachu, and our foster or canine coordinator will reach out.

Meet Nyla, Weight: 44 lbs"She's beautiful" "Wiggle butt""Captivating""Resilient""Boopable" These are all things our staff has to say about sweet Nyla and they're all so true - Nyla has such a love for life, and going on all sorts of adventures. Nyla is resilient because her start to life wasn't the best and to see her leave all of that behind and be the joyful, goofball she is - is truly amazing. Nyla is looking for a low foot traffic environment, likely in a more suburban area than a busy city life style. Nyla has done well with other dogs here, and we feel like another happy go lucky pup, that can help show her the world isn't so scary and not all things are bad would be a great match and we'd want her to meet any potential canine siblings prior to going home. A feline free home for this gal please and We'd want Nyla to meet any kiddos siblings (14+), or kiddos that visit quite frequently before going home as well, so please have the whole family tag along!

Meet Roxy! Roxy is ready to meet her forever family, she is looking for a home where she can have lots of space to run around and play! She loves to play with her humans, and go for lots of walks/runs. She'd be a great hiking partner, and she loves to ride, so even a great travel partner! Roxy is looking to be the only canine in home, but does not mind having canine friends that she may meet up with for a walk or two a week, but would not be a dog park candidate - as she can get overwhelmed with rough play to quickly. She has lived with feline friends before, and may do okay with 1-2 feline friends that are dog-savvy or maybe indoor/outdoor where they have plenty of room to keep space if needed, Roxy is such a lovebug and knows sit, down and paw and LOVES treats so she'll be very excited to learn more. Roxy has lived with kiddos in the past and would like to have her meet any potential kiddo siblings and think she'd do best with kids 8+! If you think this gorgeous gal would be a good fit, please come in and meet her!

Story
Introducing Penny! Weight: 50 lbs Let's tell the lovely story of pretty Penny. Penny arrived at our shelter after being found locally as a stray. When she first came to us, it was clear she was used to being on the run, with that "fight or flight" mentality. She was very panicked and unsure of her environment. After her stray hold period passed with no owner stepping forward, we quickly began to see how we could improve this girl's state of mind. Penny was very nervous in the shelter, staying hunkered to the ground with her tail tucked, but you could tell she was eagerly awaiting a chance to show her true personality.Penny has completely transformed in her foster home. During the first couple of days, she was very nervous, pacing a lot, and finding quiet places to settle and observe her environment. It is important for her adopters to understand that Penny is a big thinker. Allowing her to watch interactions and situations before participating in them will be crucial. Penny utilizes her crate in her foster home as a safe place. At bedtime, she may let out a couple of barks but quickly settles down and goes to sleep. She will require a fenced-in yard to have a safe and secure place to explore, and she does well in her foster home's yard.Penny shares her foster home with a male and female dog, both a couple of years older than her. They have really helped her come out of her shell, teaching her how to play and interact as a happy, go-lucky pup should. It's been truly wonderful to see her goofy personality emerge. Her new home will need lots of patience, as we're sure she will take a few steps backward when transitioning from her foster home to her new home. She will need to slowly get used to her new routine before showing her silly side. Penny also shares her home with a feline friend and is doing well. We'd like Penny to meet her whole family before going home, and she will likely need to meet them a couple of times before feeling confident enough to make the move. Penny will be your absolute goofiest best friend. She loves to bounce around, whip toys around, and prance outside.Since Penny is in foster care, please submit an adoption survey so our staff can reach out and set up a time that works best for everyone to come in and meet her.We are so excited for Penny to finally know the long-term love of her forever home!

Story
Meet Courage! Weight: 40 lbsThis sweet guy is ready to find his forever home and unleash his courage! Despite his name, Courage isn't the bravest soul - yet we see the potential in him! He's a shy guy who ended up at one of our out-of-state partner shelters with a few other dogs. Courage finds strength in the company of his canine friends, so he needs to join a household with confident, brave companions.Courage is young, which makes it easier to help him see the world isn't so scary. We're looking for someone excited to work with a nervous dog and witness his transformation into a brave companion. In playgroups, his true goofy, playful nature shines through as he bounces around and chases toys.Courage requires a fenced and secure yard. He'd also like to meet his entire family before going home; multiple visits may be needed, and bringing your dogs along could earn you extra points! He's fine with feline friends, and our staff can guide you through gradual introductions at home for everyone's comfort. We're seeking respectful, dog-savvy kids who understand Courage's need for decompression and patience at home. All family members, including children, should meet him before adoption. If you think this sweet boy would make a great addition to your home, please visit us to meet him.
