Story
Hi, my name is Manny, I am 100% American Staffordshire ( my parents did a DNA test on me). I am neutered male. I am stunningly handsome (so I'm told) Other animals make me anxious, so I would need to be the only pet. I love to be with my people. I love to go for rides, play ball/chase, I love to go for walks but sometimes get reactive when I encounter other dogs/cats. I am extremely strong so I need an experienced large dog owner, even though I am under 70#'s my Dad says I'm as strong as a horse. My Dad is not as healthy as he use to be so it's difficult for him to give me the excercise I need/want. I love people big, small, young and old. I'm house trained. I'm very gentle when eating or taking treats. I can sit, give you my paw lay down, I am very treat motivated. I watch the Animal Planet when my parents aren't home. I love stuffed, antlers and ball to play with. My parents want to find someone or a family that can offer me more activity than they can. Wish me luck

Story
Meet Turnip – A Thoughtful, Active Pup Looking for His People! Turnip is a handsome, high-spirited guy with a sensitive side and a whole lot of love to give once he feels safe and comfortable. When you first meet him, you`ll notice his excitement—he greets people with tail wags and eager energy, ready to go for a walk or just enjoy some quality time with a familiar friend. While Turnip is affectionate with those he knows (he loves to lean in for pets!), he`s also a thoughtful communicator. He’s not a fan of being fussed over too much, especially when it comes to handling sensitive areas like his ears and feet. When he’s had enough, he’ll let you know with gentle signals like walking away, pacing, or giving a few full-body shake offs to cope with the stress. With patience, respect for his boundaries, and a bond built on trust, Turnip will thrive. This guy is a foodie at heart—treat motivated, gentle when taking snacks, and a lightning-fast eater (slow feeders are a must!). He’s got great potential for learning and already knows Sit, so training with treats will be a breeze. But be warned: Turnip is a known counter-surfer and may raid your trash or swipe food off the coffee table if you’re not looking!Turnip will do best in an active home that understands how to meet the daily needs of a smart, busy pup. A few walks won’t cut it—he’s looking for hikes, jogs, scent games, puzzle feeders, and enrichment that keeps both his body and mind satisfied. Without that, he may get into mischief as he tries to make his own fun. When it comes to other animals, Turnip has shown polite interest in dogs and can likely live with another well-matched, social, and respectful canine companion after a proper introduction. Cats? Maybe—with very slow introductions and only if they’re dog-savvy and keep their distance. If his energy isn’t well-managed, he may see them as a fun distraction rather than roommates.Due to his sensitivities around body handling, we’re recommending kids 8+ and a meet-and-greet with the whole family to make sure it’s a good match for everyone involved.Turnip may have started life as a stray, but he’s ready to find his forever home—a place where he’s not just housed but truly understood and included. With the right people, he’s going to blossom into an amazing companion full of affection, curiosity, and adventure.Ready to turn your life around with Turnip? Come meet this special guy—you might just

Story
Hi my name is Kai. I am a 1.5 years old. I love to cuddle and play with my humans but other dogs as well. I love kids! & cats are alright too :) I have some anxiety but please be patient with me. With hard work and dedication we can both overcome this together! I have a hard time having my nails cut and I may need extra care and help when it comes time for this but I am a good boy with that aside. I am crate & house trained. Can’t be left out of crate when home alone so please make sure I have treats & toys to make me happy and distracted. I love to sleep under the blanket at night and cuddle up with my humans. It makes me feel safe. Car rides make me nervous so I may not always be up to it! Thanks for being interested in me & can’t wait to find my forever home.

Story
Meet Thin Mint! Thin Mint came to us as a wandering adventurer, but she’s now ready to find a forever home where she can settle in and be loved! This girl adores her stuffy toys—carrying them, tossing them, and even tucking them in for naps. If you’re missing a plushie, check her bed first! She’s a lively, talkative pup who loves to be in on the action. If you’re looking for a dog with personality and energy to match, Thin Mint is your girl! She has made dog friends at the shelter and may enjoy a dog sibling with slow, proper introductions. She is too intense for cats however and will need a cat free home. Because of her enthusiasm and excitement for life, we think she’d do best with kids 10 and up.Interested? We ask that the whole family—including any potential dog siblings—come in to meet Thin Mint before adoption.

Story
Meet Kaiser – Your Loyal, Vocal Companion!Kaiser is a charming and energetic dog who’s looking for a peaceful, loving home where he can truly settle in and blossom. His vocal nature and nervousness around change have made it hard for him to find his forever match — but for the right person or family who can appreciate his unique spirit, Kaiser promises a world of loyalty and companionship in return.Kaiser would do best in a calm home with a predictable routine and minimal comings and goings. He feels safest when his surroundings are stable and stress-free. Ideally, Kaiser would be the only pet in the household, although he may be able to coexist with a dog-savvy cat.A home without high-energy children is preferred — older, quieter kids who can respect his space and appreciate him for who he is would be a wonderful match. Kaiser needs someone who can provide structure, patience, and plenty of understanding while honoring his need for peace and consistency. Importantly, Kaiser will need a person who is well-versed in dog body language, as his signals can be quite subtle and easily missed by an inexperienced eye.If you’re looking for a loving, devoted friend who will bring a bit of his own charming “sass” into your life, Kaiser might be the perfect match for you! The whole household will need to meet Kaiser to make sure it’s a comfortable match for everyone.

Story
Meet Duke!Weight: 87 lbs Large and in charge Mr. Duke is ready to find his match, Duke made his way to us due to no fault of his own and is such a good boy! Duke is looking for an active household, one that wants a canine friend to tag along on all the outside adventures. Duke can be a little nervous at first but quickly warms up and is very food motivated. Duke knows sit, paw and down and walks great on leash. A home outside of city limits and in a more quiet rural-like area would be best for Mr. Duke! Duke has lived with other dogs before and did well and we`d want him to meet all canine siblings prior to going home, he`s also lived with felines (1-2) before and chickens (that were couped up) and did fine. Duke would be best fit with teenagers and in a lower foot traffic household, our staff will be happy to discuss introductions with Duke and feline/canine friends in home, to help set everyone up for success! Duke looks forward to meeting you!
