Story
Hatter came to us as a puppy and has grown to be a very loyal but strong dog. He does not get along with one of our older dogs. He is also too big and strong for me to handle. My health is not great, and I cannot handle him.

Story
Meet Waldon — 100% Good Boy, 110% Enthusiasm! Waldon is the kind of dog who believes every day is the best day ever. This medium-to-large mixed breed has had quite the journey, first arriving as a transport and finding his way back to us a few times over the years. His latest return wasn`t because of anything he did—his family simply wasn`t allowed to have dogs where they lived. Through it all, Waldon has remained the same happy-go-lucky, larger-than-life guy we`ve all come to love. He`s got a heart of gold, enough enthusiasm to power a small city, and sometimes... well... his brain takes a quick coffee break while the rest of him is already halfway to the next adventure. That`s just part of Waldon`s charm!Waldon is looking for a family that sees his goofy exuberance as something to laugh about, not something to `fix.` He`ll thrive with active people who enjoy hiking, long walks, sniffy adventures, brain games, and continuing the training that`s helped him come such a long way with our team. More than anything, Waldon needs someone who`s committed for the long haul. He`s had enough goodbyes and is ready to find the family that says, `Yep... this wonderfully ridiculous dog is ours forever.` If you`re looking for a best friend who will make you laugh every single day, keep you on your toes, and remind you that life is one big adventure, Waldon is packed, ready, and probably already waiting by the door. Story
Meet Gregory — A Happy Heart Ready for a Fresh Start! Gregory is a young, happy, and social dog who has already shown just how resilient he can be. He hasn`t had much stability in his young life, but despite that, he continues to greet the world with a loving heart and a playful spirit. We believe Gregory has lived with children before, although we don`t have many details about that experience. His history with cats and dogs is unknown, but he has done well meeting other dogs here at the shelter and seems to enjoy having a canine buddy around.Gregory would love a family ready to give him the stability, guidance, and adventures he`s been missing. He`d likely be happiest matched with another playful dog who doesn`t mind some enthusiastic roughhousing and can communicate their boundaries clearly. Like any young dog, Gregory will benefit from continued training, enrichment, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. After everything he`s been through, this sweet boy deserves a family who will stick by him and show him just how wonderful a forever home can be. Behavior and personality assessment is based on information provided by previous owner(s) and/or observations in a shelter environment and may not accurately reflect the pet’s behavior in your home.

Story
Meet Duke!Weight: 87 lbs Large and in charge Mr. Duke is ready to find his match, Duke made his way to us due to no fault of his own and is such a good boy! Duke is looking for an active household, one that wants a canine friend to tag along on all the outside adventures. Duke can be a little nervous at first but quickly warms up and is very food motivated. Duke knows sit, paw and down and walks great on leash. A home outside of city limits and in a more quiet rural-like area would be best for Mr. Duke! Duke has lived with other dogs before and did well and we`d want him to meet all canine siblings prior to going home, he`s also lived with felines (1-2) before and chickens (that were couped up) and did fine. Duke would be best fit with teenagers and in a lower foot traffic household, our staff will be happy to discuss introductions with Duke and feline/canine friends in home, to help set everyone up for success! Duke looks forward to meeting you!

Story
Meet Rosey — The Water-Loving Adventure Buddy You`ve Been Waiting For! Rosey is a brilliant adolescent dog with a zest for life and a passion for adventure—especially if it involves water! Whether it`s splashing in a lake, wading through a stream, or chasing a toy into the water, Rosey is happiest when she can make a splash. She came to us as a stray, so much of her history is unknown. Rosey was quickly adopted but returned when her family realized their busy household couldn`t provide the quiet, structured environment she needed. The constant activity and energy, especially with a young child, proved overwhelming for her. Since returning to the shelter, Rosey has become a staff favorite, impressing everyone with her intelligence, eagerness to learn, and growing list of tricks.Rosey is looking for an active family that can keep both her mind and body busy with adventures, training, and enrichment. She has shown some resource guarding behaviors, so her adopters must be committed to continuing positive, reward-based training in this area. Rosey could live with dog-savvy children or another dog in a highly managed home where valuable resources, such as food and toys, are carefully supervised and never left up for grabs. Because she came to us as a stray, we do not know her history with cats, so any introductions should be made slowly and thoughtfully. With clear boundaries, consistency, and plenty of opportunities to explore the outdoors, Rosey has all the potential to become an incredible lifelong companion for the right family. Behavior and personality assessment is based on information provided by previous owner(s) and/or observations in a shelter environment and may not fully reflect behavior in your home.
