Story
We are looking for a loving, child-free home for our sweet girl, Kaya, where she can get the attention and quiet environment she deserves! We adopted Kaya when she was just over a year, and she is now 8 years old! She is a big mix of many breeds, and she is truly so wonderful, incredibly smart, playful, independent, housebroken, and not destructive in any way, even when left alone. Kaya is always on high alert and can be reactive to dogs and people on walks. She has done well in some daycares, but she can be anxious and generally plays best with dogs smaller than her. She has lots of energy and is happiest when she gets plenty of outdoors time! We've always joked she would love working on a farm 8 hours a day - she craves having a job! Her favorite activities are playing catch with a tennis ball, getting back scratches, and eating her favorite foods! Kaya is up-to-date on all of her vaccines and has never had any health issues. Adoption fee is just to ensure she goes to a loving home.

Meet Cubby – Your Adventure Buddy and Best Friend! Breed: Husky Mix | Age: 2.5 years | Weight: 50 lbs Cubby is a stunning Husky mix with soulful eyes and a heart of gold. After being rescued from an overcrowded backyard situation, this sweet boy has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find his forever family.   Cubby has discovered the joys of life—walks, playtime, snuggles, and, most of all, people! He’s affectionate, smart, and always seems to be trying to understand everything around him with those expressive eyes. He’s especially great with children and loves being part of a family.   An energetic and athletic pup, Cubby thrives on adventure. He loves long walks, hiking, backpacking, playing fetch, running beside a bike, and splashing in the water. If you lead an active lifestyle, Cubby might just be your perfect match. And when the day is done? He’s happy to chill on his dog bed, content just being near his people.   Cubby currently lives with two other dogs and absolutely loves playing with them. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another dog buddy—or as your one-and-only if he gets plenty of exercise and enrichment.   Cubby is not just a dog—he’s a loyal companion, hiking partner, and forever friend who will bring joy, laughter, and love to your life. All he needs is a family who will give him the active, loving home he deserves.    Fostered in Tennessee   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Sunny Needs a Hero This young 1 year old, 30 pounds Terrier mix boy has been through a super tough first year that reads like one of those rescue stories that breaks your heart.  Sunny’s is definitely one of those. This sweet boy was abandoned in the middle of nowhere with his family of dogs, left to fend for themselves against the elements, starvation, and predators. Tragically, Sunny was the only survivor. By the time rescuers with Critter Cavalry found him, he was terrified and had to be trapped just to bring him to safety. We don’t know where he came from, but we know what life had been like for him—at best, he was neglected, and at worst, he suffered cruelty. Love, comfort, and security were things he had never known but he does now and he thriving and getting more at ease every day.  He has come so far! The Journey to Trust In his foster home, after much patience and gentle care, Sunny began to trust. At first, he kept his distance, but with space, understanding, and (most importantly) lots and lots of treats, he started to come out of his shell. He found comfort in the other dogs and even the cats in his home, but learning to love people took longer. Over time, he discovered that belly rubs were amazing, snuggling was safe, and that going outside to potty and coming back when called was something he could do without fear. Sunny had been nervous with men but now with a slow approach he is accepting their kindness and petting.  He loves being with the cats especially in the foster home and will sleep with them.  We love that!!!   He looks up to other older dogs and follows their confident actions as we had hoped he would. All Sunny needs is a HERO to give him love and a stable forever home. He needs a true  HERO—someone willing to meet him where he is and show him, day by day, that he is safe and loved. What Sunny Needs in a Home &#226&#156&#148 A quiet, patient, and understanding adopter – Someone who won’t rush him but will let him bloom at his own pace.&#226&#156&#148 A home with another friendly, confident dog – He takes comfort in his canine friends and learns by watching them.&#226&#156&#148 A calm, steady environment – He does best with routine and minimal chaos.&#226&#156&#148 A household without young children under 10 years – He needs a peaceful space where he can feel secure. &#226&#156&#148 A female adopter or a home where he can bond gradually with any of the men – He typically trusts women more easily but is now demonstrating his acceptance of gentle males. &#226&#156&#168 The Reward? Watching a broken soul learn to trust, to love, and to finally be happy. There’s nothing more beautiful than for us to slowly see true happiness and the light come back into Sunny’s eyes.  He is almost there but he does need that final step to someone who is committed to his care and his love.  He is If you have a heart big enough to give this boy the time and love he deserves, please reach out. Sunny is waiting for someone to change his life forever. Could that be you?  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let us know more about you and then let’s talk!!! Story
Meet Lady Anne, a stunning 4-year-old Great Pyrenees whose story is one of resilience, devotion, and unconditional love.   When it came time to give birth, Lady Anne did what any devoted mother would do—she searched for a place she believed would keep her babies safe. She chose a quiet spot beneath a shed, only for that refuge to become anything but safe. Thankfully, a compassionate neighbor recognized the danger and reached out for help. Critter Cavalry stepped in just in time, giving Lady Anne and her nine newborn puppies the second chance they so desperately needed.   Placed with an experienced foster family, Lady Anne slowly learned that she and her puppies were finally safe. At first, she was understandably protective, but with patience and kindness she allowed her foster family to help her. Beneath her thick coat were painful mats, ticks, and fleas, and she needed a gentle grooming and a trimmed belly so her puppies could nurse comfortably. Through it all, her only concern was her babies.   For seven weeks, Lady Anne rarely left their side. As the puppies grew, she would ask to step out of their pen, only to lie beside the fence, faithfully watching over them. Day and night, she stood guard, making sure every puppy was safe. Even after they were weaned, she continued her watch. It wasn't until each puppy had gone to a loving home and the pen stood empty that Lady Anne finally walked into the air-conditioned house, curled up, and truly rested.   Her watch was finally over.   But Great Pyrenees are born with a purpose, and Lady Anne simply found a new one. She now happily patrols the fence lines, checking on the livestock with quiet confidence before making her rounds to visit the very dogs she once chased away from her puppies. Today, they're all friends.   Lady Anne can be a little reserved when meeting new people, taking her time to decide who she can trust. Once she knows your intentions are kind, however, she gives you her whole heart. She'll greet you with joyful full-body wiggles, lean into your affection, and 'talk' to you in her soft, gentle Pyrenees whines that seem to say just how happy she is to be by your side. She is cat-friendly, easygoing, gentle, and deeply loyal—the kind of dog who doesn't just become a pet but a steadfast companion. Lady Anne has already proven what an incredible guardian she is. Now she's looking for a family of her own to love and protect.   If you give this remarkable girl a chance, she'll spend the rest of her life reminding you that some of the greatest hearts belong to those who have overcome the hardest beginnings.   Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue is you are interested in having this beauty as a part of your life.  ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 9, 2026, 6:31 pm

Story
Just one look at Andy's face, and you'll understand why everyone falls in love with him. Those soulful eyes...those adorable floppy ears with their soft, feathery curls...that happy puppy grin. Andy is simply irresistible. Born around April 1, Andy is one of nine puppies born to a beautiful, gentle Redbone Coonhound mix mom. Like his brothers and sisters, he didn't have the easiest start in life and arrived in rescue a little underweight. Since coming to Critter Cavalry Rescue on June 29, he's been getting plenty of nutritious food, lots of love, and every chance to grow into the healthy, happy puppy he was always meant to be. Today, Andy weighs 14.8 pounds and is expected to mature into a handsome 45–50-pound companion. While his mom is a Redbone mix, we're convinced there's another wonderful breed or two in his family tree. Maybe Lab...maybe Aussie...or perhaps even a little Cocker Spaniel, judging by those impossibly cute ears! Whatever his mix may be, one thing is certain—he's absolutely perfect just the way he is. Andy is everything you hope for in a puppy. Curious. Joyful. Smart. Affectionate. He's already using pee pads like a champ when he can't make it outside, and he's beginning to learn about crates, leashes, and all the exciting adventures that come with growing up. This little guy wakes up every day ready to discover the world. Whether he's exploring the backyard, playing with other dogs, making friends with cats, or greeting complete strangers with a wagging tail, Andy approaches life with confidence and happiness. He truly believes everyone is a friend he just hasn't met yet. Because he's an active, intelligent puppy, Andy will thrive with a family that enjoys spending time outdoors. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, or an active family committed to daily walks, trips to the dog park, and plenty of playtime and training. He's eager to learn and will blossom with the guidance, consistency, and love that every puppy deserves.  Andy isn't just looking for a home. He's looking for his people—the family who will celebrate his silly puppy moments, teach him new things, laugh at his antics, and love him through every stage of life. In return, he'll fill your days with laughter, companionship, and unconditional love for years to come. If your heart skipped a beat when you saw Andy, it may be because he's been waiting for someone just like you. Story
Ollie by Golly is the kind of puppy who makes people smile the moment they meet him.   This handsome mostly Australian Shepherd boy has a soft semi-long coat, beautiful eyes, and a gentle personality that is hard to find. Ollie does have limited vision on his left side because his left eye is genetically smaller than his right, but it does not slow him down one bit. His veterinarian says he is comfortable, doing great, and does not need any surgery. Ollie has learned to navigate the world just fine and is full of confidence, curiosity, and puppy joy.   He is a sweet, easygoing little guy who is incredibly gentle with a 3-year-old toddler in his foster home. He also does wonderfully with older children, adults, and people he meets. Ollie has no fearfulness and no rough edges to his personality—just a soft heart and a happy spirit.   When he is not cuddling near his people, Ollie is busy doing important puppy things: chasing bubbles, watching butterflies, sniffing every inch of the yard, playing fetch, wrestling gently with his dog friends, and joining in on the morning zoomies. He may even decide a bullfrog is worth investigating if one happens to cross his path.   Ollie has been in foster care for three weeks and has already blossomed into such a happy, loving boy. His foster mom has been delighted to watch his personality shine brighter every day. He would love a home with children, another playful dog, or simply people who want a loyal little companion close by.   If you are looking for a puppy who is handsome, gentle, playful, and wonderfully special, Ollie by Golly may be your perfect match. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to learn more. Please include your city and state.
