Story
Mr. Bob may be small in stature, but he carries the heart and wisdom of an old soul. This 5-year-old Chihuahua began life in a crowded backyard breeding situation, one of 17 little dogs trying to make sense of a world that didn’t offer much comfort. When he was finally relinquished and welcomed into rescue, everything changed — though for Mr. Bob, change takes time.   At 22 pounds (with about five to shed), this sturdy little gentleman is working toward a healthier lifestyle with proper diet and gentle exercise. But while his body is solid, his heart is tender and still learning to trust this brand-new chapter.   Mr. Bob is shy, soft-eyed, and deeply observant. He’s the kind of dog who quietly studies his surroundings, trying to understand how he got so lucky to land in a calm, loving foster home. He’s discovering that kind hands, cozy beds, and soft voices are not temporary — they’re his new normal.   He has proven to be gentle and patient with children and small dogs, though he does appreciate having his own peaceful corner to nap undisturbed. After years of living among too many dogs in a chaotic space, personal room to relax is something he treasures. He absolutely loves to cuddle and prefers to sleep close to his human at night. Fully crate trained, he sleeps soundly without a peep.   The leash is still a mystery to him and a bit frightening. He prefers quick potty breaks and then hustling back inside where he feels safe. We suspect he never had much outdoor experience before. With patience and reassurance, he will continue building confidence at his own pace.   Mr. Bob would thrive either as an only dog or with just one calm companion. More than anything, he longs for a steady, devoted person who will be his life coach — someone with patience, understanding, and unconditional love to help him blossom.   He doesn’t need chaos. He doesn’t need adventure. He just needs someone who sees the quiet beauty in a shy little soul learning how to trust.   If you feel called to give Mr. Bob the safe, gentle future he deserves, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.         PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
If joy had four paws and a wagging tail, it would look just like Joyful Jayda. This precious little girl is a delightful blend of Chihuahua and Tibetan Spaniel, born on January 23, 2025, and weighing about 10–12 pounds—the perfect size for cuddling, traveling, and being your constant little companion. Jayda’s story began when her mother, a stray in a neighborhood, was taken into foster care by a kind person who didn’t want her having puppies outside. It turns out that the handsome neighborhood Tibetan Spaniel had already played his part in her story, and that’s how sweet Jayda came to be. Jayda was lovingly adopted as a puppy and spent almost a year in a home where she was cherished. Sadly, her owner began experiencing serious health issues that kept her away from home much of the time. Wanting the very best life for Jayda, she made the loving and selfless decision to return her to rescue so she could find a home where she receives the attention and companionship she deserves. And what a wonderful companion she is! Jayda is housebroken and even rings a bell when she needs to go outside—a very smart little lady. She loves people, enjoys other animals, and brings a bright, happy energy wherever she goes. Joyful Jayda truly lives up to her name. She’s affectionate, friendly, and ready to fill someone’s home with love, laughter, and plenty of snuggles.       If you’re looking for a small dog with a big heart and a joyful spirit, Jayda may be the perfect match for you. Joyful Jayda is available through Critter Cavalry Rescue.   For more information, please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com.

Story
Rex is a young dog who has already lived a lifetime’s worth of hardship—and somehow came out the other side with a gentle soul and an open heart. For much of his first year, Rex lived tied out in the woods with a homeless couple, missing out on everything a puppy should know: safety, structure, and the comfort of belonging. Now, at just barely one year old, he’s finally getting his chance at having a good life that does not include a tieout and living in the woods homeless.    This handsome Corgi mix weighs 25 pounds, with a compact, active build and a few healthy pounds still to gain. He sports the most expressive upright ears, short Corgi legs, a long body, and a gorgeous, fluffy tail reminiscent of a Border Collie. His coat is soft and flowing, and his energy is joyful and contagious once he feels safe. Rex is friendly with other dogs and naturally polite in his interactions. When meeting new people, he approaches gently with a submissive posture, ears back at first—then slowly lifting as his confidence grows. He’s still learning how to walk on a leash and is being introduced to basic commands and manners for the very first time and he’s proving to be a quick learner who genuinely wants to please. Because Rex missed out on early training, he will need an adopter who understands young dogs and enjoys helping one grow into his potential. With consistency and positive guidance, Rex could shine in agility, flyball, or other interactive dog sports. More than anything, he’s a dog who wants to work with his person and be part of a family.  Rex is ready to leave survival behind and step into a life filled with love, guidance, and belonging. If you’re looking for a loyal, family-oriented dog and are willing to help shape his future, Rex may be the one you’ve been waiting for.   To learn more about adopting Rex, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Patches didn’t have the best start in life, but thanks to quick action and a lot of heart, her future is bright. She came from a situation where very senior owners in failing health allowed multiple dogs to continue breeding. When Critter Cavalry Rescue learned about the conditions, they stepped in—taking all the adult dogs to be altered and ensuring the puppies, including Patches, would have the chance at loving homes and responsible futures.   Now this 10-month-old Terrier/Dachshund mix is ready to write her own happy ending.   Weighing in at a perfectly compact 18 pounds, Patches is fully grown and packed with personality. She is intelligent, curious, athletic, and endlessly entertaining. This girl will absolutely keep you laughing and on your toes in the best way. If you’ve ever wanted a dog to truly do things with—whether it’s hiking, learning new tricks, agility, or even Flyball—Patches would shine. She has the focus and drive to excel, and she would thrive with someone motivated to train and engage her sharp little mind.   Socially, she’s a superstar. Patches loves other dogs, does wonderfully with children, and hasn’t met a person she doesn’t adore. She’s happy, playful, and always ready for the next adventure. Because she is so people-oriented, she would do best in a home where she receives plenty of attention and interaction.   If you’re looking for a small but mighty best friend just under 20 pounds who will bring energy, fun, and devotion into your life, Patches is your girl.   To learn more or apply, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennesseee@gmail.com and please include your city and state. Patches is fostered in Tennessee, and while we love our local adopters, we also transport almost every weekend to homes throughout the Northeast.

Story
Tink’s story didn’t begin the way any young dog’s should — but we believe her best chapter is still waiting to be written very soon now that she is in the care of Critter Cavalry Rescue.  At just two years old, this striking blue-eyed Australian Shepherd girl has already experienced motherhood and heartbreak. She gave birth to a litter of puppies on Thanksgiving Day, nurturing them with devotion. But by Valentine’s weekend, her own world changed. When her owner suffered a stroke and was hospitalized in ICU, Tink was left confined inside a camper for four long days, alone and unsure. It would be understandable if that experience made her fearful or withdrawn. Instead, Tink emerged gentle, loving, and incredibly devoted to people. Currently weighing 38 pounds (and needing about five more to reach her ideal weight), Tink is a petite Aussie with a soft and gentle temperament and a playful streak. She absolutely adores children and has a naturally sweet, careful way about her. She loves playing fetch, going on walks, and burning off her energy in a securely fenced yard — which is a must for this active, intelligent breed.   Tink is mostly housebroken and simply needs the consistency of a routine. She does well in a crate and walks nicely on leash. We are currently evaluating her with other submissive dogs, as a recent attempt to pair her with a strong alpha female was not a good fit — which is understandable after all she’s been through. She may truly shine as the center of someone’s world. Tink has proven she is resilient. She has proven she is loving. Now she just needs someone who will prove to her that she will never be left behind again. If you feel your home might be the safe and steady future this beautiful girl deserves, please email Critter Cavalry at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and tell us your city and state. Tink is ready to begin again — this time, forever.

Story
Meet Roddy — a 22-pound Schnauzer mix bundle of joy who is just 9 months old and discovering how wonderful life can be. With his bright eyes, happy energy, and playful spirit, Roddy approaches each day like it’s an adventure waiting to happen. Roddy truly loves everyone he meets. People? Yes please. Other dogs? Absolutely. Cats? Very likely! He’s the kind of boy who wants to be friends with the whole world and is happiest when he’s included in whatever is going on. He’s active and enthusiastic, making him a great match for an individual or family who enjoys daily walks, playtime, and continuing his training. The good news? Roddy already walks nicely on a leash and is housebroken — he’s off to a great start. Despite his sweet nature, Roddy hasn’t had the easiest beginning. When his owner moved away and left him behind with a roommate, Roddy waited for her to come back… but she never did. Thankfully, Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in, made sure he was fully vetted, and gave him the second chance he so deeply deserves. Roddy is a smart, eager-to-please pup who learns quickly and soaks up guidance like a sponge. Having another dog in the home would be a wonderful bonus for him, as he learns beautifully by example. With patience, consistency, and love, Roddy will grow into an incredible lifelong companion. Give this sweet boy a chance, and you’ll gain a loyal friend who will fill your days with laughter, love, and wagging tails. For more information or to apply, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.
