Story
Sunny Needs a Hero This young 1 year old, 30 pounds Terrier mix boy has been through a super tough first year that reads like one of those rescue stories that breaks your heart.  Sunny’s is definitely one of those. This sweet boy was abandoned in the middle of nowhere with his family of dogs, left to fend for themselves against the elements, starvation, and predators. Tragically, Sunny was the only survivor. By the time rescuers with Critter Cavalry found him, he was terrified and had to be trapped just to bring him to safety. We don’t know where he came from, but we know what life had been like for him—at best, he was neglected, and at worst, he suffered cruelty. Love, comfort, and security were things he had never known but he does now and he thriving and getting more at ease every day.  He has come so far! The Journey to Trust In his foster home, after much patience and gentle care, Sunny began to trust. At first, he kept his distance, but with space, understanding, and (most importantly) lots and lots of treats, he started to come out of his shell. He found comfort in the other dogs and even the cats in his home, but learning to love people took longer. Over time, he discovered that belly rubs were amazing, snuggling was safe, and that going outside to potty and coming back when called was something he could do without fear. Sunny had been nervous with men but now with a slow approach he is accepting their kindness and petting.  He loves being with the cats especially in the foster home and will sleep with them.  We love that!!!   He looks up to other older dogs and follows their confident actions as we had hoped he would. All Sunny needs is a HERO to give him love and a stable forever home. He needs a true  HERO—someone willing to meet him where he is and show him, day by day, that he is safe and loved. What Sunny Needs in a Home &#226&#156&#148 A quiet, patient, and understanding adopter – Someone who won’t rush him but will let him bloom at his own pace.&#226&#156&#148 A home with another friendly, confident dog – He takes comfort in his canine friends and learns by watching them.&#226&#156&#148 A calm, steady environment – He does best with routine and minimal chaos.&#226&#156&#148 A household without young children under 10 years – He needs a peaceful space where he can feel secure. &#226&#156&#148 A female adopter or a home where he can bond gradually with any of the men – He typically trusts women more easily but is now demonstrating his acceptance of gentle males. &#226&#156&#168 The Reward? Watching a broken soul learn to trust, to love, and to finally be happy. There’s nothing more beautiful than for us to slowly see true happiness and the light come back into Sunny’s eyes.  He is almost there but he does need that final step to someone who is committed to his care and his love.  He is If you have a heart big enough to give this boy the time and love he deserves, please reach out. Sunny is waiting for someone to change his life forever. Could that be you?  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let us know more about you and then let’s talk!!! PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Meet Cubby – Your Adventure Buddy and Best Friend! Breed: Husky Mix | Age: 2.5 years | Weight: 50 lbs Cubby is a stunning Husky mix with soulful eyes and a heart of gold. After being rescued from an overcrowded backyard situation, this sweet boy has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find his forever family.   Cubby has discovered the joys of life—walks, playtime, snuggles, and, most of all, people! He’s affectionate, smart, and always seems to be trying to understand everything around him with those expressive eyes. He’s especially great with children and loves being part of a family.   An energetic and athletic pup, Cubby thrives on adventure. He loves long walks, hiking, backpacking, playing fetch, running beside a bike, and splashing in the water. If you lead an active lifestyle, Cubby might just be your perfect match. And when the day is done? He’s happy to chill on his dog bed, content just being near his people.   Cubby currently lives with two other dogs and absolutely loves playing with them. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another dog buddy—or as your one-and-only if he gets plenty of exercise and enrichment.   Cubby is not just a dog—he’s a loyal companion, hiking partner, and forever friend who will bring joy, laughter, and love to your life. All he needs is a family who will give him the active, loving home he deserves.    Fostered in Tennessee   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Meet Lola &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Lola is an approximately 10-month-old 50lb female American Staffordshire Terrier who was found roaming the roads alone… lost and forgotten. Despite whatever she experienced before rescue, she has one of the sweetest temperaments you could ask for. Lola absolutely loves people and just wants someone to love her back. She is the kind of dog who will quickly become your shadow, your best friend, and your most loyal companion.Lola is crate trained and seems housebroken. She has good manners and just pulls a bit on the leash but corrects easily. She just wants to please! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143    Lola is still a little unsure around other dogs, so we believe she would do best:    • As the only dog, or possibly with larger, well-balanced dogs   • Preferably no cats (can be discussed)   • Older children preferred   Must be local if you have other dogs to do a proper introduction. This is important to help set Lola up for success.   This beautiful girl deserves a family who will show her what it truly means to be safe, loved, and never forgotten again.   &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love, Lola may be your perfect match.     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 11, 2026, 1:28 pm

Story
Hank ('Hank the Tank')The Lovable Powerhouse with a Heart of Mush is a very young one year old English Lab who weighs 78 pounds and was bought from a breeder as a puppy by his current family.  Due to their layers of family sports and working responsibilities for the mom and dad, they have realized that Hank needs more from a family than they can give.  Critter Cavalry Rescue has offered to neuter Hank and bring him up to date on all vaccines and heartworm test and then find him the best home with lots of hearts and hands to love him and give him more of their time and attention. Hank is not only a very handsome Yellow English Lab, but a strong one with a stocky build that requires a capable handler when walking him on a leash.  He has impeccable manners with crate training and housebreaking fully mastered.  He has exceptional family and house manners with no heavy anxieties. His inviting personality is warm and he is quick to make friends. :Don’t let the nickname 'Hank the Tank' fool you—this big boy is all about the love. True to his English roots, Hank has that classic personality that is high-energy but incredibly sweet. He loves to run and stretch his legs and as most people know, a Lab is just a kid at heart for the first 5 years. . Hank is a cuddler who doesn’t quite realize he’s 78bo pounds of solid muscle, making his clumsy attempts to get close to you all the more charming. Hank is a gentleman through and through. He is highly disciplined at mealtime, sitting and waiting for his food until he hears the verbal 'Eat' command. He is a steady, loyal companion who is eager to please. He is currently going through his toddler phase and sometimes does not like to listen when his name is called the first time. Typical for a teenage boy dog like him. Hank is looking for a family that doesn't mind a 'big lap dog.' and someone to reinforcing and some consistent training.  We also need a fenced yard or a lot of land that he can zoom around on away from a busy road.  He is currently powered byPurina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy. He eats 4 cups daily, split between morning and mid afternoon.  He is heartworm negative and neutered now.  Ready for the next best step to the right home.  If you think you could qualify for this big boy then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.  Tell us where you live, city and state when  inquiring.  We adopt to the Tennessee area where our rescue is based and we also transport up the northeastern coastal states and have transports every weekend   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 1, 2026, 8:38 pm

Story
Meet Tom — the life of the party wrapped in puppy fluff! This confident, spunky Border Collie mix is bursting with personality and keeps the fun going from sunup to sundown. Whether he’s romping around with his puppy crew or proudly parading through the house with his latest “treasure” (yes… usually a sock), Tom brings laughter everywhere he goes. His signature victory strut? Iconic. His pouty little face when he wants his way? Absolutely irresistible. Born around February 5th, Tom is expected to grow into a handsome 45–50 pound adventure buddy with a soft, slightly longer coat that’s just begging to be pet. He’s already off to a great start—he knows how to sit and is eager to keep learning, especially if treats or praise are involved! Tom loves his people just as much as he loves playtime, and he settles nicely in his kennel when it’s time to recharge. He’d thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can zoom, explore, and burn off that fun-loving energy. Add in daily leash walks, and you’ll quickly become his favorite person (and fearless leader). If your home could use more laughter, more energy, and a whole lot of puppy charm—Tom is ready to deliver. Story
Cassava—“Sava” to those who love her—is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart and then never lets it go. This lovely 3-year-old Border Collie/Basset mix, weighing 34 pounds, is the perfect blend of charm, intelligence, and easygoing companionship.   Sava’s story is one of love and doing the right thing. She was adopted from a local humane society by a young man who adored her, but as life settled in, his long workdays—often 10 to 12 hours at a time—left Sava spending too much time alone. Wanting more for her than he could provide, he searched for help and never gave up until Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in to change the course of her life. Now Sava is ready for her true forever home—and what a gem she is.   She has a beautifully balanced personality: playful when it’s time for fun, but just as happy to relax and cuddle when the day winds down. She enjoys being active and would love regular exercise, but she’s not high-strung or overwhelming. While she’d certainly enjoy having a yard to run in, she’s proven she can adapt to apartment living as long as her physical and mental needs are met. Sava is housebroken and crate trained, and she settles well when crated during longer absences. She’s still polishing her leash skills, but with a little consistency, she’ll be a wonderful walking companion. Like many clever dogs, she has a playful streak—especially when it comes to paper products—so a dog-savvy home setup is always a plus.   When it comes to companionship, Sava checks every box. She’s gentle and loving with children, social and playful with other dogs, and even respectful of cats. Her temperament makes her an easy addition to many types of households.   Sava isn’t just a beautiful dog—she’s the kind of loyal, loving companion who will be by your side through it all, whether you’re out exploring or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home.    If you’ve been searching for a dog who brings together personality, adaptability, and heart, Sava is ready to meet you.   To learn more or request an application, please email: ccrnewengland@gmail.com       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 1, 2026, 8:38 pm
