Story
Danny is a great dog and good listener, has been off leash besides going to the vet. He's also crate trained. Routine is great for Danny. He loves a dog park and will sleep through the night after. Very playful and energetic. He's not meant to be cooped up for too long. Still a puppy's mind. He is less than 1 years old. We also have his brother Forest. They have been together this whole time and we would love to see them go together.
We'll also keep you updated on Forest's adoption status with email updates.

Story
We are looking for a loving, child-free home for our sweet girl, Kaya, where she can get the attention and quiet environment she deserves! We adopted Kaya when she was just over a year, and she is now 8 years old! She is a big mix of many breeds, and she is truly so wonderful, incredibly smart, playful, independent, housebroken, and not destructive in any way, even when left alone. Kaya is always on high alert and can be reactive to dogs and people on walks. She has done well in some daycares, but she can be anxious and generally plays best with dogs smaller than her. She has lots of energy and is happiest when she gets plenty of outdoors time! We've always joked she would love working on a farm 8 hours a day - she craves having a job! Her favorite activities are playing catch with a tennis ball, getting back scratches, and eating her favorite foods! Kaya is up-to-date on all of her vaccines and has never had any health issues. Adoption fee is just to ensure she goes to a loving home.

Story
Sunny Needs a Hero This young 1 year old, 30 pounds Terrier mix boy has been through a super tough first year that reads like one of those rescue stories that breaks your heart.  Sunny’s is definitely one of those. This sweet boy was abandoned in the middle of nowhere with his family of dogs, left to fend for themselves against the elements, starvation, and predators. Tragically, Sunny was the only survivor. By the time rescuers with Critter Cavalry found him, he was terrified and had to be trapped just to bring him to safety. We don’t know where he came from, but we know what life had been like for him—at best, he was neglected, and at worst, he suffered cruelty. Love, comfort, and security were things he had never known but he does now and he thriving and getting more at ease every day.  He has come so far! The Journey to Trust In his foster home, after much patience and gentle care, Sunny began to trust. At first, he kept his distance, but with space, understanding, and (most importantly) lots and lots of treats, he started to come out of his shell. He found comfort in the other dogs and even the cats in his home, but learning to love people took longer. Over time, he discovered that belly rubs were amazing, snuggling was safe, and that going outside to potty and coming back when called was something he could do without fear. Sunny had been nervous with men but now with a slow approach he is accepting their kindness and petting.  He loves being with the cats especially in the foster home and will sleep with them.  We love that!!!   He looks up to other older dogs and follows their confident actions as we had hoped he would. All Sunny needs is a HERO to give him love and a stable forever home. He needs a true  HERO—someone willing to meet him where he is and show him, day by day, that he is safe and loved. What Sunny Needs in a Home &#226&#156&#148 A quiet, patient, and understanding adopter – Someone who won’t rush him but will let him bloom at his own pace.&#226&#156&#148 A home with another friendly, confident dog – He takes comfort in his canine friends and learns by watching them.&#226&#156&#148 A calm, steady environment – He does best with routine and minimal chaos.&#226&#156&#148 A household without young children under 10 years – He needs a peaceful space where he can feel secure. &#226&#156&#148 A female adopter or a home where he can bond gradually with any of the men – He typically trusts women more easily but is now demonstrating his acceptance of gentle males. &#226&#156&#168 The Reward? Watching a broken soul learn to trust, to love, and to finally be happy. There’s nothing more beautiful than for us to slowly see true happiness and the light come back into Sunny’s eyes.  He is almost there but he does need that final step to someone who is committed to his care and his love.  He is If you have a heart big enough to give this boy the time and love he deserves, please reach out.   Meet Cubby – Your Adventure Buddy and Best Friend! Breed: Husky Mix | Age: 2.5 years | Weight: 50 lbs Cubby is a stunning Husky mix with soulful eyes and a heart of gold. After being rescued from an overcrowded backyard situation, this sweet boy has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find his forever family.   Cubby has discovered the joys of life—walks, playtime, snuggles, and, most of all, people! He’s affectionate, smart, and always seems to be trying to understand everything around him with those expressive eyes. He’s especially great with children and loves being part of a family.   An energetic and athletic pup, Cubby thrives on adventure. Story
Meet Tubby — a tender little soul learning that life can be kind.  At just 4 years old and a tiny 9 pounds, this handsome light tan Chihuahua boy has already come such a long way. Tubby’s story didn’t begin with soft beds and loving arms—it began in a backyard breeding situation in a small Tennessee town, where he and 16 other Chihuahuas had never even experienced the outside world. On Valentine’s Day, two rescues, including Critter Cavalry, stepped in to change his life forever. And what a beautiful transformation it’s been. Over the past six weeks in foster care, Tubby has been quietly, bravely discovering what it means to live. Every day, he grows a little more confident, a little more curious, and a little more trusting. His foster mom says it’s been incredibly special to watch him bloom at his own gentle pace. Tubby has overcome more than just fear—he’s also had extensive dental care to relieve him of painful, damaged teeth, and now he’s feeling so much better and finally able to enjoy life comfortably. He is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped—ready for his fresh start. This sweet boy has been working hard behind the scenes, too. He’s learned that his crate is a safe, cozy space just for him, and he’s beginning to understand harnesses, leashes, and the big, exciting world outside. While he’s still gaining confidence, his progress has been nothing short of inspiring. You can see how much he wants to be brave.  At home, Tubby’s true personality begins to shine. His absolute favorite place? Right next to you on the couch. Once he feels safe, he melts into the moment—quietly affectionate, deeply loyal, and oh-so-loving. Those peaceful snuggle sessions are where Tubby’s heart really opens up.  Because he forms such strong bonds, Tubby would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time to offer reassurance and companionship. He’s still learning that the world is safe, and he’ll need a patient, kindhearted person who understands that love—and trust—take time. But make no mistake: Tubby is worth it. The person who welcomes him home won’t just be adopting a dog—they’ll be witnessing a beautiful transformation. And in return, Tubby will give a lifetime of quiet devotion, gentle companionship, and unconditional love.   Ready to give Tubby the life he’s always deserved?Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to learn more or apply to adopt.Tubby is ready to travel and can easily catch a ride on the transport van any weekend—straight into the arms of his forever family.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 13, 2026, 6:55 pm
