Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Frederick, MD Meet Bentley! He is an 2 year old Australian Shepherd/Collie mix and weighs 58 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, and on heartworm prevention, but isn’t up to date on shots. Bentley is nervous around strangers. He is good with cats, dogs, and older children! He hasn’t been tested around younger children. Bentley nipped a veterinarian at his last appointment, due to his anxiety. The current owner took him in after his previous owner was going to surrender him to a shelter. The current owner is surrendering him because of his anxiety. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Bentley, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherd’s Furever for their assistance in placing Bentley. Owner’s Contact Information: Stephanie Jenks at (304) 279-6390 or sjenks924@gmail.com.

Story
Hi, my name is Roulette in Boonsboro, MD. I am a very lovable, beautiful red merle girl around 2 years of age and about 50 lbs. I love to be with my human, and I connect very quickly. My foster mom must watch when she walks because I am always right there beside her. She tells me that I am like velcro, but I don't know what that is. I spent a month at Mason Dixon K9 to teach me some commands, and I'm doing well with most of them. While there, I learned how to walk very nicely on a leash, and I don't even pull! I think I'm a very good girl and my foster mom tells me that I am, so I must be. I am very quiet in the car, and I really like car rides, so please don't be afraid to take me places with you. It is important for my new family to be consistent and continue my training. If you give me an inch, I may take a mile and try to push the boundaries. Structure and a calm home are super important to me. I am still learning every day! I am not a big fan of the crate, but I will go it in more easily now than I did at first. I love to play with toys! Big toys, little toys, squeaky toys, you name it and I'l play with it. I like to play with my foster fur sister, but I play a little rough for her. I would be fine as an only dog, but I think I would get used to having a larger brother or sister. A fenced yard would be best, so I can expend my abundant energy. I have a high tolerance to physical activity, so my adopter should be physically active and be ready to play mental games with me as well. My foster mom doesn't have human kids, but I have been around some. They are very interesting to watch, but young kids overwhelm me. I think I would do best with teenagers and older. I am a herding dog and do tend to herd young children especially if they are running. I was just spayed, so I must take it easy for a little while. I am ready to find a family of my own that I can love and have them love me too. I am pretty much housebroken, but I could stand a little more work in that area. I walk well on a leash but will pull some if I see something very interesting. I LOVE walks! If you have a place in your heart for a girl that is so full of love to give and wants to be with you as much as possible, I am that girl! I would love to meet you, and if you have any fur babies already, I will need to meet them. I think I play too rough for smaller dogs. I am being fostered in Boonsboro, Maryland. Here is the application:https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to my new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Meet Raya, a beautiful, 6 month old, Australian Shepherd/ German Shepherd mix with 1 blue eye. Raya is your typical puppy,.... energetic, clumsy, uses her mouth and huge paws to explore her world. She is 38 lbs plus and utd on shots. She has an outtie belly button that was probably an umbilical hernia at birth, but our vet says the abdominal wall has sealed over, and no intervention is necessary, but if wanted , can be repaired during spay. Raya is working hard on basic commands,.... sit, down, off, shake, and kennel. Raya is mostly housebroken, but when playing sometimes waits too long and still has occasional accidents. A consistent routine and watchful eye will help her through this. She is very clean in her crate and will stay in it all night without a peep. Raya loves to romp and chase her foster siblings, and loves chew toys! The more the better! She is easily corrected if she finds something that she shouldn't have, but loves to bring sticks and stones inside to shred. She is an expert at using the doggy door to go in and out to the fenced area. Raya has not been tested with cats. Raya is a bit mouthy and uses her feet to let you know she wants your attention like any typical puppy. She is probably a bit much for small children due to her not realizing her size. Raya is great with our family but is suspicious of strangers and will retreat if approached. Once she warms up to you, it is play all day! Cuddles happen, but she is a rambunctious pup with better things to do until she is tired. We have gotten better with the brush and nails have been trimmed a few times, but puppy energy sometimes gets in the way. Raya is super smart and picks things up very quickly! Anyone wanting a partner for obedience, or agility, or some kind of doggy sport, this girl would excel at anything you want to teach her! We are working on scheduling her spay, but if she is adopted before that, a deposit will be required which will be refunded with proof of spay. A small fee is also included for her microchip. Raya is being fostered in Rising Sun, MD. If Miss Raya sounds like the pup for you, please apply at Australian Shepherds Furever 501c3! Here is the app:https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is a $50 REFUNDABLE spay deposit that will be refunded upon proof of spay and a $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
This adorable boy is still awaiting his neuter surgery, so he`s not quite ready to go home just yet, but he`s eagerly awaiting the day he can find his forever family. Tofu is a special pup as he is partially blind and deaf, but don`t let that fool you - he`s a quick learner and does incredibly well navigating his surroundings. Tofu is very food motivated, which makes training a breeze and he`s been making great progress. Despite his sensory impairments, Tofu is full of love and affection.

Story
Introducing Glowie, the one-year-old spayed female Australian Cattledog mix with a heart of gold! Glowie is a high-energy pup who absolutely loves to run and play. She is very vocal and food-motivated, always eager to learn new tricks and show off her skills. Glowie is a true people-pleaser and wants to be near her family as much as possible. Glowie would do best in a home with children over the age of 10, where she can have plenty of space to run and play. She is looking for a family who can provide her with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, as well as lots of love and attention. Glowie is a smart and active pup who would thrive in a home where she can continue to learn and grow with her humans.
