Story
CHANCE – have you ever seen a more handsome fella? Just a few things about this sweet guy. The vet believes that Chance is between 18mo - 2yrs old and weighs 59lbs. • He is heart worm negative and neutered. •He is super sweet and gentle - wants to cuddle and be near his person. •He is dog-friendly (the foster doesn’t have cats, so we are not certain if he’s cat-friendly) •He is people-friendly to everyone he has met. Foster does not have small children, but he has been fine around children on walks. Due to his size and youth, he might knock down small children, but he is not aggressive. •He is house broken. Even in the rain and snow he has let us know he needs to go out. •He is a little timid to new people at first, but warms up quickly. •He very rarely barks. •He has learned to sit, walk on a leash, and “wait” for his food bowl to be put down. •He is very food motivated, so can be easily trained with treat rewards. He is not reactive when eating. •He can be possessive over certain toys with a low, warning growl if another dog tries to take it from him. •He is not interested in fetching a ball, but loves chew toys and antlers. • He can be very active, but is also happy cuddled up with his person. •He would do great in a house with another dog, but would be fine as an only dog also. Once adopted Chance will travel via private transport (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. Story
Every once in a while, and not very often, a dog comes through our rescue that can only be described as PERFECT! Does such a creature really exist , you ask? The answer is YES INDEED! And her name is SNOWFLAKE❄️ I could go in and on for days about this girl but thought maybe the words would be best coming from her foster mom... Hi y’all, this is Snowflake’s foster mom and I want to tell you about this extraordinary dog. I know a little about extraordinary because although I, myself, am not that extraordinary, I am an immigration paralegal who specializes in extraordinary visas for people who are at the top of their fields. To be approved for one of these visas, they either have to meet 3 of 8 criteria or win one major award. Y’all, Snowflake would have that visa in a heartbeat! Her major award is that the rural shelter in which she was housed for several months recognized her as THE BEST DOG THERE and would use her to temperament test the other dogs. Above and beyond all the other dogs, they focused on her and advocated for her. When shelter people recognize a dog like that, you should LISTEN! Thankfully, Blues City did—again. Snowflake is flawlessly house-trained, exceptionally friendly, and desperate to be every dog’s bestie. She is that typical pittie combo of Let’s Play Hard Unless You Prefer To Snuggle. She isn’t the biggest fan of the crate, but she will be perfectly still and quiet as long as she needs to be there. She takes correction very well and rarely makes the same mistake twice. But she’s young and still likes to chew, so she needs some guidance to choose between rug and bone. Snowflake is about 14-16 months old and full-grown at 50lbs. Despite being adorable, she is also HW- and spayed. You can rest assured 1000% that she is perfectly behaved ( even beyond that she's much more tolerant than just about any 4 legged being we've ever had) with anyone and anything ! Her foster mom Lori is spoiling her in Memphis, Tn and we are being very patient because we know the perfect family is out there for this PERFECT! BEAUTIFUL! Creature 💜

Story
Often times we go in and on about our pets but sometimes it's best to allow the foster families to describe the perfect forever home for them. Here's what Michele would like to see for Doc.... Doc is officially finished with heartworm treatment! Now it’s time to find his forever home. Here is what I think would be perfect for him: a family home with at least one more playful dog and bigger kids (he still jumps when he is excited to see you, but we are working on that), fenced yard (his breed likes to wander), someone willing to take him on regular walks, someone willing to be patient with him, as he takes a minute to get comfortable with new people (he is shy, not aggressive). In return, you will get the sweetest, softest dog who loves nothing more than big hugs and belly rubs. I love this dog and am so proud of the progress he has made. He will make a great addition to a family. This is what we want for this sweet guy! He and his brother spent countless months at the shelter because no one had the time to spend teaching them about love and patience and kindness. Then Doc met Michele and Kip and he has become THE MOST AMAZING , loving, kind, gracious boy ! Doc is in a foster home in Memphis, Tn. If you would like to make him a part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Transport runs every weekend to the north east, leaving Memphis Tennessee at 6 AM Friday mornings. Transport is an additional $165. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Sometimes we spend hours thinking of ways to describe our pets when the best description really does come from the foster family! Otto is in a foster home in Memphis, Tn and here are the words of his foster mom.... We loved him from the very beginning. His favorite place on earth is the dog park where he is always the most joyful, energetic ambassador for every new arrival, even the grumpy ones. He does not have an aggressive bone in his body. He took to the crate immediately especially when he figured out that there were treats involved. We dispensed with the crate after the first few days once we knew we could trust him unsupervised. He has learned that in our house dogs are not allowed on the furniture but we do have our suspicions that he curls up on the couch when we aren’t home. He is clever enough to hop down before we are through the door but not so clever as to straighten the cushions. He would love nothing more than to curl up next to you and share your blanket but settles for laying on your feet. He LOVES affection. We have a cantankerous German shepherd and he has managed to wrap her around his little paw with ease. They play non-stop and are quite the duo making our small space very challenging. He is extremely agile and flexible and loves to leap off our back porch in one bound (skipping all five steps) if there is a squirrel in the vicinity. Our German shepherd is very jealous and looks ridiculous when she tries to do the same. He can almost do a back bend which is pretty incredible (and quite something to see) and loves to stick his head straight up in the air which always makes us smile. I will admit that his leash walking needs work although it has improved. His enthusiasm when we walk past people or other dogs makes it hard for him to listen and if there is a squirrel involved forget it! His improvement does lead me to believe that with time and patience he can be trained to walk like a civilized canine. He LOVES food. We bought him a maze feeding dish because he inhales his food and eagerly looks forward to every breakfast and dinner. He knows he has to sit before you put his dish down so he starts sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor and sits-walks-sits-scoots his way to his dish. If you have a treat, he will go through every trick he knows hoping to land on the right one. So far, he can sit, lie down and high five, although it is hit or miss as to which one he will perform with any command. His antics will keep you laughing. We don’t have kids but there is no doubt in my mind that he would make a wonderful family dog. We do have a couple of dog-hating cats in our household that love to assert their authority. They trained him immediately and he only looks longingly at them. I have caught him in a hopeful downward dog as they approach trying to worm his way into their affections as well. I keep trying to tell him that it will never happen, but he is an optimist and keeps trying. If you would like to make this guy a special part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Rescue vet Transport travels to the north east each and every weekend. Story
Everyone meet Willow. Willow has the most beautiful chocolate coat. She is currently 4 and a half years old and weighs appx 45lbs. Willow is spayed and completely house trained. Willow is out of all the puppy stages and is just a joy to have around. She gets along with all dogs big and small. Willow pulls a bit on leash but loves walks and is a great car riding companion. This girl can’t get enough belly rubs and is usually found walking around with a toy in her mouth. Willow can be a bit timid on meeting new people but it doesn’t take much to get her to warm up. She could use someone who’s going to be patient with her when meeting new people. Once adopted Willow will travel via Rescue Vet pet transport to a location closest to you. Story
Meet Buddy!! This handsome fella is an extremely sweet and affectionate pup! He is great with other dogs as well as cats and kittens. His foster mom says he is so cute with the kittens in their home. She also says that Buddy listens and minds really well! He knows a few commands and is happily motivated by toys and treats. Buddy is not a chewer! Unless it’s a dog toy, because he loves his toys!! He’s not a big barker either and sleeps through the night. Buddy is neutered, potty trained and kennel trained. He is dang near perfect!! He has such a loving personality and so many great attributes; all he is missing is a family to call his own. Once adopted Buddy will travel via RescueVet private transport (transport cost is $160.00 each) to a location closest to you.
