Meet Birdie, the most loyal and loving dog you could ask for. Birdie is a pitbull mix, approximately 3 years old, and weighs 57 pounds, with a gorgeous golden coat. She is fully house broken and knows many commands including sit, lay down, and spin. Birdie is also crate trained and enjoys relaxing in her crate. She is the best snuggler you could ever ask for. Birdie loves all people, showering them with kisses and cuddles. She is very energetic with her love and would do best in a home with older children, but she does love all people. Birdie does not do well with other dogs and needs to be in a home with no other pets. Most of the time Birdie is content to nap, but when she plays she loves squeaky toys and absolutely loves to play fetch in the yard. Due to cruel humans before she was rescued, Birdie has one ear that is improperly clipped. It does not seem to bother her in the slightest. My husband and I are fostering a dog for friends of ours, who adopted her in South Carolina and transported her to NH. Our friends are older with some balance issues and having a young, active, strong dog was more of a danger to them than they had anticipated. In addition, Sophie needs a home with a fenced-in yard (because she loves to run) and a companion dog because she was lonely as an only dog. Although they love Sophie very much, Sophie's owners ultimately came to the conclusion that it was not a good fit for them or Sophie so they asked if we could find her another home. We are happy to keep her as long as needed but as we have four other dogs, we think it would be best if she found another home. Sophie is a great dog – 12 months old in August. Initially she is very shy with new people and even having been with us for a month, she is sometimes skittish if you move too fast. But once she's comfortable with you she loves to snuggle during her down times.
