Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Everett, MA Meet Kingston! He is a 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 65 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Kingston is fearful of strangers. He is good with dogs! He hasn’t been tested around cats. No children, due to his reactivity! Kingston bit the owner’s father after he grabbed his collar because he was barking. He also bit the owner last year. This occurred while they were playing ball. Kingston jumped on the couch and bit the owner after he took the ball from him. The owner is surrendering him because they can’t provide the environment that he needs to thrive. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Kingston, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Kingston. Owner’s Contact Information: Zach Herman at (978) 835-8175 or zfherman@verizon.net.

Story
My partner and I adopted Tango a little over two months ago. We were told he was social, good with dogs and cats, great at dog parks/doggie daycare, etc. He seemed perfect for us as we have two cats and another small dog who are all rescues. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. Tango has shown high levels of reactivity to both our cats and other dog. He has problems with resource guarding and has lunged/growled/barked/snapped at all members of our family. He has never broken skin, but we do worry. He has not been friendly to guests and struggled at doggie daycare. Tango is highly food motivated and has responded well to basic command and potty training with only a few recent accidents inside. Tango is also crate trained and we are working on muzzle training. We can't afford professional training at this time. We feel like Tango can thrive in a low-key home and with adequate training. Tango loves head scratches, walks, and peanut butter. Please consider our boy! He deserves it.

Story
Moose is a very lovable chocolate lab. He is all things that make up a good lab, loves tennis balls, loves his bones, and most importantly loves being a companion in the family! If you want a dog that will follow you around from room to room, and be a family dog or even a companion dog this is your dog! Unfortunately, am I pregnancy I have developed a allergen to moose and the medication I would need to take I cannot take because I’m pregnant and I would not be able to take it if I am breast-feeding so we are devastated to have to rehome moose! And we want to make sure he’s successful and into a loving family. We are an open book, so feel free to message, and we can discuss more!

Story
Mike is a 7 year old pit/ German shepherd mix. He has gotten along well in the past with another family pet, but since has started not to. There have been 2 fights between both dogs. He has done well with other dogs in the past. Possibly dog selective. He has been separated for some time now and his quality of life would drastically improve in a new home. Other dogs aren’t off the table - would just need a very slow and well done introduction to try it out. He is a great dog, listens well, very energetic so would make a perfect running/hiking partner. Well mannered and deserves a real chance at a good life.

Story
Bruce, a Staffordshire Terrier/Pitbull mix, was brought into us when he was found roaming around Tilton. He's approximately 2 years old, extremely smart, he knows many commands & tricks. He can even open and close containers, and he is very active. Bruce is a VERY strong boy, weighing in at 60 pounds. (most of which is muscle!). Bruce does not like cats & he is picky about his dog friends. He will need a highly active owner who also knows his breed well. This pup will need "leash reactivity" training and someone who can dedicate time working with him on this. Because of his strength, it is important that this guy learns social manners to maintain a healthy relationship with his owners and everyone he may meet. Bruce is neutered and up-to-date on all of his vaccinations.

Story
This fine fellow is Lucky. Lucky needs a home. Lucky first came to us in 2020 when he was about a year old. He was adopted shortly after but recently returned because his owner was moving.Despite his life letdowns, Lucky keeps a positive attitude and is holding out hope that someone will see this post and decide to adopt him and give him the physically and mentally stimulating forever home he deserves. Lucky is 5-years-young, healthy, spry, and knows many tricks and commands. He is housebroken and walks nicely on leash. Likes: car rides, walks, tug of war, running, jumping, cuddling, counter surfing, trash picking, being showered with affection, doing tricks for treats, high-fives. Dislikes: nail trims, having high value toys/treats taken away (resource guarding), going into his kennel (here at LRHS), being moved when asleep - can you blame him? Lucky is a great communicator and will bark if he needs to go out or if there is any unwanted activity going on. He will show his teeth if you try to take away something that he considers "high value".We recommend Lucky for a home with kids 10+ years old, without cats, and ideally without other dogs (due to his tendencies toward resource guarding and being an attention hog). He will play with other dogs but we don't believe he's willing to share his special people with another canine. He has many good quality but he never learned to share. Lucky comes fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.
