Story
Say hello to darling little Peggy. Look at that face! That awesome hairdo! She came to us when her former owner passed away and she was brought to a shelter. Peggy is a senior girl, about 10 years old. She is looking for a quiet, peaceful home to enjoy her golden years (so no young kids, please). We don't know what her past life was like, but she has some fear issues and is going to require a patient adopter who will allow her time and space to get to know them. She loves just sleeping quietly beside you while you work or watch TV. She is hard to catch if there is something she doesn't want to do, such as going outside, so she needs a home with someone who can work with her on that. She also requires a fenced yard, as she tries to bolt when frightened. She is not a dog who wants to go out and about. She was absolutely terrified when she recently went to the vet, including in the car, so she just wants to stay home and enjoy the security of that. She gets extremely stressed in the car, so a home in close proximity to her foster home is needed. She does not like pesty dogs getting her space and will warn them, so a home with active dogs would not be a match, but a low-key, respectful older small dog would be fine. Peggy weighs about 12 lbs and she is hoping to find a home where someone is home a lot of the time. She will give you lots of snuggle time sitting close beside you on the couch in return. (Peggy is being fostered in TN)

Story
********** ADOPTION PENDING *************** Introducing Lily and Zeplin, a charming bonded pair of 9 year old Cresteds. Lily is the powderpuff girl and Zeplin is the hairless boy. They came to our rescue after a good Samaratin found them running loose down the middle of the road. She was able to locate the owner, who said the dogs were always escaping from the yard and she didn't want them anymore. So here they are, safe and sound! They absolutely MUST be adopted as a pair. We will not split them up, so don't ask. Zeplin is quite timid. He spent the first 3 weeks at his foster home on a chair under a blanket. He is slowly starting to come out of his shell and loves going outside with his person, while Lily prefers to follow you absolutely everywhere. She is the more outgoing of the two and is Zeplin's security blanket. When he had a vet appointment and she stayed home, they both got extremely upset and screamed to let us know they were not happy being apart! They both ride nicely in the car. They require a fenced yard, as they were used to running off at their former home, so they need a fence to be kept secure. Zeplin is housetrained, while Lily is still working on that skill, which will be an ongoing process. They are looking for a quiet, patient home that understands they will take a while to open up and blossom. They need a home without young kids, where someone is home a lot of the time. They are looking forward to finally being a treasured part of someone's life. (Lily & Zeplin are being fostered in northeastern Ohio)

Story
Harley is 7 years old. He is very high energy, very food driven. Super snuggler. He listens well, knows sit, lay down, stay, bed. He is house trained in that he doesn’t potty in the house, but we have been unsuccessful in crate training him. He has broken out of wire crates and FAA grade crates. We tried securing him in one room only which resulted is heavy destruction, we tried to let him free roam the house with doors shut and that worked for a while but he has since mastered unlocking and opening exterior doors and continued further destruction when left home alone. He needs a home that he’s not alone or someone who can give him the training he needs.

Story
Charcoal is a 9-month-old female German Shepherd with a big heart and an even bigger personality once she feels comfortable. This sweet girl loves attention and bonding with her people, though she can be a bit shy with strangers at first and may need a little time to warm up. Once she does? Her goofy side and sassy attitude come shining through.Charcoal is an active young dog who will thrive with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle or has a secure, fenced-in yard where she can burn off energy and have fun. She loves other dogs and enjoys playtime, and she can be a little vocal when she’s playing, which just adds to her charm.Because she’s still learning and gaining confidence, we recommend no young children for Charcoal. She would do best in a home that understands her shepherd smarts, gives her patience, structure, and plenty of love.If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, slightly sassy companion who will be incredibly loyal once she trusts you, Charcoal might just be your perfect match.
