Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.George is a six year old great pyrenees mix. He is a 100 pound gentle giant. A favorite at the shelter he came from. They say he is a big baby. Kinda Eyeore like when he walks around. A pretty content boy, down for just about anything. Only thing he doesn't enjoy is when other dogs are hyper and in his face or bouncing close to him. He is good about correction or warning them though.  He is good with being handled at vet. Please visit our website for more pictures of this dog and info on our adoption process and application which is located on the left column under "forms & applications" :                            https://barkdogfarm.rescuegroups.org Before applying be sure you have thoroughly researched Great Pyrenees.  They can be stubborn, prone to barking, overly protective and cannot be off leash.  You WILL NOT train a pyr to boundaries.  Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. We do not have blanket criteria regarding adoptions. Each applicant is considered based on many things including but not limited to breed experience, yard ( visible fence preferred) and other animals in home. We try to avoid dogs with same sex households as pyrs typically do not do well with the same sex. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called.  A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place.  If all are in agreement and the animal has received its NH health certificate an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid.  Adoption fees for dogs are $450. for adults over 12 months, $550 for puppies 12 months and younger.  Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized. This may involve young puppies be given until a certain age to be altered. All animals are up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate.  Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months. Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment. We show animals by appointment only. This is usually done meet outdoors so please dress accordingly. Please email barkingdogfrm@gmail.com with any questions or to arrange a meet and greet.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 1:37 pm

Story
Laylah is a beautiful pure bred Great Dane that is 129 pounds and 4yrs young.  This girl lost her home because the other female Great Dane was jealous of her and jumping on her to create a fight.  The family could not afford for them to seriously hurt each other. It was best to have Laylah leave the home for her own safety. She is totally vetted and  spayed and is up to date on vaccines.  She came in scared and unsure of everything because of the turmoil she has been experiencing at her home.  After some work and socializing, she has come out of her shell and she loves to be by her person's side and will make a great companion for someone.  She would most likely need to be an only dog since she is still suffering from the fear of being attacked again by another dog.  She does not show fear to all dogs…but some of the larger ones she is defensive at the moment. She hasn't been off leash around cats but seems to not mind them walking by, even appeared playful through the glass with a cat in the cat colony. She has done well meeting new people but gets nervous if her secure shelter person leaves the room.  She shows this by waiting nose to the door until her person comes back. She walks great on a leash and hops right in the car and rides well. She loves to lay on her stuffies and play with her toys, just playing never destroys them. She will carry around the toy in her mouth just to show everyone what she has. In the mornings she gets the pony girl zoomies where she just yeehawws around the yard until she wears out then she is pretty reserved the rest of the day hanging out behind the shelter desk. When too many dogs are going in out it stresses her so she gets put up in an office until things settle down.  She doesn't seem to mind kids and she will greet them gently. Another plus is that she is also housebroken.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 19, 2024, 8:26 am

Not good with kids,
Story
Rodney is a very sweet but frustrated senior guy!  In fact he is looking for a senior guy to be his last best friend forever in this world.  Rodney is a 9 year old 15 pound Chi mix that has a little attitude that is born from total frustration with the humans in his past life.   He came from a very dysfunctional home where dogs were running everywhere.  He was one of the “victims” of the human insanity.  What we want for Rodney is a quiet, senior home with a lap and very little demanded of him.  He will be a great dog if you just leave him to unfold and unravel from the chaos he has experienced for far too long.  We know this guy will love you forever and sometimes he will be a little snappy because he has been bounced around.  The shelter he is in is obviously not fun and not nice. This boy is needing a good home that is steady and loving and patient with him.  There will be some time needed for him to heal his heart and learn to trust.  He deserves some love and forgiveness if he is not perfect. This boy is about 15 pounds and looking for just some small little corner to call his own.   Please email us to help Rodney at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 19, 2024, 8:26 am
