Story
Roady (approximately 78 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. He is a fun-loving and social fellow who loves to meet new people, and he may jump up for an enthusiastic hug to show his excitement. You'd never know that this beautiful, confident boy was rescued after having been hit by a car - he takes everything in stride and greets life with a fun-loving attitude. Roady spent time in a Lone Star foster home, where we learned that he is fully house-trained, rarely barks (unless he's in his crate & he knows people are present in the house), and knows multiple commands. As if that's not impressive enough, Roady was fostered with older & younger children and loves to spend time with kids. He was also fostered with medium & large dogs and got along great with them, matching their play styles and taking cues from them. And even better? Roady was fostered with cats and is known to be friendly & respectful to the feline species! Roady loves water, so we have promised him that New Hampshire is full of lakes, streams, ponds, pools, and even an ocean for him to enjoy. He can definitely be a little mischievous - he has been known to counter surf for food, he can sometimes open doors that have latches or handles, and he will mouth things when feeling playful. But as his foster dad says, he is so cute, child-like, and charming, it's easy to forgive him. Come meet our handsome dog with the David Bowie eyes - Roady is ready & waiting to make someone very happy! If you'd like to meet Roady and all his friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Plus, this summer, we will be open until 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays! Have questions? Call (603) 772-2921 ext. 110 or email info@nhspca.org today. Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 64 Age: 1yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
Rocky (approximately 52 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. He is a beautiful blue-eyed Husky mix boy who was born with a limb difference to his left front leg, which does not slow him down one bit. Using his Husky tenacity and a zest for life that is all Rocky, this fellow loves to play with other dogs of all sizes, and he features a soft and bouncy play style that works well for other dogs who enjoy friendly, goofy play. When it comes to people, Rocky is always happy to make new friends, and he is a Velcro dog with his humans, choosing to be close to them whenever possible and snuggling his humans whenever he is given the chance. Rocky adores the Great Outdoors, a typical Husky trait, and he cannot wait to be a New England boy who gets to experience snow for the first time. Rocky's foster parents mention that he can get a bit mouthy when bored (another Husky trait) but that he is easily redirected. He walks well on leash and we have found that it's easier for him if you walk on his left side. He also has a cute habit of laying down to drink water, and he LOVES toys. If you're looking for a loyal buddy with a bright future and a big heart, Rocky might just be your guy - come meet him today! If you'd like to meet Rocky and all his friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Story
We adopted Bo from a rescue in Pennsylvania as a puppy in 2020. He has thrived as an outdoor pet with an invisible fence. He would do best with another dog, or a lot of attention/exercise. He loves people. Bo has some bad habits like pulling on the leash/jumping and our circumstances have changed. We are now caring for an elderly family member who cannot tolerate being around an energetic dog, and we cannot devote the time he needs/deserves.

Story
Kenny is the kind of dog who lives life with his whole heart. This 2-year-old, 57-pound Shepherd mix wakes up each day ready for his next adventure, whether that's racing around the backyard, playing with his favorite toys, or discovering a new trail with his family. His playful spirit is contagious, but once he's had his fun, he happily settles down for a quiet evening, content to curl up on his bed or soak up all the affection you're willing to give.Living with Kenny is easy because he's already house trained, crate trained, and respectful of his home. He doesn't have accidents and doesn't destroy things when left alone. His playful enthusiasm makes him a better fit for a family with children eight years and older, simply because he doesn't always realize how strong and excited he can be. Kenny is deeply devoted to his people and has all the qualities of a loyal family companion. He's intelligent, food motivated, and enjoys learning, making him a pleasure to train.Kenny loves the company of other dogs and would be especially happy with a canine buddy who shares his size and energy level. He also gets along beautifully with cats, which makes him an extra-special find. Like many rescue dogs, Kenny carries a bit of his past with him. He seems to have experienced unkind treatment from a man, so he may be a little cautious when meeting men for the first time. Give him a little patience, a few treats, and the chance to build trust, and you'll quickly discover the incredibly loving, affectionate dog waiting underneath. If you're searching for an active companion who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and love you with his whole heart, Kenny may be the perfect addition to your family. To meet Kenny or learn more about adopting him, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 30, 2026, 12:00 pm

Story
Skittles (approximately 56 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. This gentle, affectionate senior dog has proven to be an easy and loving companion in foster care. His foster mom describes him as incredibly sweet, laid-back, and happiest when he can be close to his person. Perfect gentleman Skittles is fully house-trained, calm in the home, settles easily after activity. He adorably enjoys carrying around squeaky toys or chewing on soft toys, plus he loves cuddling and thoroughly enjoys being petted. His foster mama notes that Skittles sometimes seems a little sad, possibly missing his previous owner, but he frequently wags his tail and responds warmly to affection and companionship.Skittles was successfully fostered with dogs of all sizes and ages, and he enjoys being around other dogs. We do think that he would also do well as an only pet. This handsome fellow knows "sit," walks nicely on a leash, and has shown no concerning behaviors. Skittles has a slower pace, preferring a relaxed lifestyle over high-energy activities. His favorite pastime is simply being near his people, snuggling, and enjoying a squeaky toy. Because of his easygoing temperament, affectionate nature, and adaptable personality, Skittles would be an excellent match for a first-time dog owner, a quieter household, or anyone looking for a loyal companion who enjoys a relaxed pace of life. Our beloved Skittles is an affectionate senior dog who would love a comfortable home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by affection and companionship - come meet him today! If you'd like to meet Skittles and all his friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed).
