Story
Meet Penny, a 2.5-year-old female mixed breed who is a sweet, wiggly girl full of curiosity about the world around her. Penny is affectionate and engaging, always eager to explore and take in her surroundings. She is fully potty trained and has a great foundation for life in a home.Penny would likely do best as the only dog in the household. While she has shown friendly, affiliative signals toward other dogs she sees out and about, she can become frustrated and may pull or bark. Penny has a history of mild resource guarding, including guarding food from another dog and a toy from a child, so her future home should be attentive to management and set her up for success with clear boundaries and positive reinforcement. She has done well with kids ages 10 and up and is not recommended for homes with younger children. Penny is good with cats, though she may be tempted to sample their food! When stressed, she may shred items, so crating her with calming enrichment like, like a lickable frozen Kong, when left alone is recommended. With thoughtful management and a loving home, Penny will be a wonderful, loyal companion ready to continue blossoming.

Story
Meet Jethro, a one-year-old male lil` pibble with a huge heart and an even bigger capacity for love. Jethro will love you so hard and is a true super snuggler who enjoys jumping up to greet his people with enthusiasm and affection. He loves long, sniffy walks and would thrive with an active family that can keep him mentally and physically engaged through enrichment and ongoing training. As a young dog, Jethro is still working on his manners and may counter surf or investigate the trash, so he will do best with guardians who understand adolescent energy and are ready to guide him as he grows.Jethro would need to be the only dog in the home, as he is fearful of other dogs and may bark and lunge when he sees them. Jethro considers every human he meets a friend, does great with kids as young as two, and is eager to be part of a loving household. He has no known history with cats. With the right home, Jethro will be a devoted, affectionate companion ready to soak up all the love you can give.

Story
Ned is a lovable two-year-old pug mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for people. He really prefers being with his humans rather than spending time alone and will thrive in a home where he gets lots of attention and companionship. Ned can get into things if he’s bored, so regular enrichment, exercise, and mental stimulation will be important to keep him happy and out of trouble. He has lived with other dogs and has done well, and he’d be happy to do a dog meet to find the right match. Ned has also lived with cats and done well, and he’s good with kids, making him a great family dog. With patience and positive experiences, he’ll continue to build confidence. Overall, Ned is a sweet, people-loving guy who’s ready to settle into a home where he won’t have to be alone too much.

Story
North is our Gentle Soul   Meet North, a Great Pyrenees mix boy born in mid-October who already carries the calm wisdom of an old soul in a fluffy puppy body. In his short time in the world, North has experienced a variety of environments, people, and situations — and he has handled every single one with quiet confidence and an open heart. To North, everyone he meets is simply a friend he hasn’t been properly introduced to yet.   His Pyrenees mama’s influence shines through beautifully in his laid-back, steady personality. North enjoys playful moments, but he’s just as happy slowly following his foster mom from room to room, keeping her company and observing the world around him. And if there’s a lap nearby? He’s absolutely convinced it was placed there just for him — even though he’s expected to grow into a big boy of at least 80 pounds one day and may never accept that he’s not meant to be a lap puppy forever.   North radiates a soothing, peaceful energy that makes you instantly feel at ease. He’s the kind of dog who seems to sense when you need comfort, making him a wonderful candidate for someone seeking a steady emotional support companion. This isn’t a nonstop, high-energy puppy who needs constant action — North is perfect for someone who values connection, loyalty, and quiet companionship. He’s off to a great start with potty training and shows a strong preference for doing his business outside in the grass. With regular outings, accidents are rare, and his intelligence and eagerness to please make it clear he’ll continue to thrive with guidance and consistency.    North is the kind of puppy who doesn’t just grow into a dog — he grows into your dog. Loyal, loving, calm, and deeply devoted, he’s simply waiting for the person or family lucky enough to call him home.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you need this boy in your life   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 25, 2025, 12:24 am

Story
Bones is our Gentle Guardian with a Steady Soul”  Bones may sound like an unexpected name for a dog as strikingly handsome as this Great Pyrenees boy—but once you meet him, it fits perfectly. Bones has the kind of solid structure, steady presence, and dependable nature that makes you feel grounded just standing beside him. At just 11 months old and currently weighing about 60 pounds, he’s still a teenage pup—but his personality already carries the calm wisdom his breed is known for. Bones has a wonderfully peaceful demeanor. He’s the kind of dog who greets you at the door with quiet joy, offering comfort and companionship after a long day. There’s something incredibly reassuring about him—like a safe harbor wrapped in a fluffy white coat. He walks regally on leash, turning heads wherever he goes, and carries himself with confidence without being pushy or demanding. Despite a rough start in life—originally belonging to a homeless woman who left him in the care of friends—Bones has never let hardship shape his heart. Now safely with Critter Cavalry Rescue, he is neutered, fully vetted, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccines and deworming. Bones truly is a friend to all. He does beautifully with dogs, cats, chickens, and people of every age. True to his Great Pyrenees roots, he is observant and watchful, naturally protective without being reactive. He is housebroken, knows basic commands, and enjoys a structured routine. A securely fenced yard is a must—Bones loves spending long hours outside soaking up good weather, playing independently or alongside other dogs. He’s also mastered the art of indoor relaxation and proudly holds top honors from “Couch Potato School.” We expect Bones to mature into a stunning 75–85 pound adult. He would thrive with a family or individual who understands the Great Pyrenees breed and welcomes him as a true member of the household—inside and out, every day.If you’re searching for a loyal, gentle, and enduring companion, Bones is waiting. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you have the secure home and breed understanding this special boy deserves.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 25, 2025, 12:24 am
