Story
Maeve is a beautiful young dog with a story that speaks quietly of resilience and hope. Just over a year old, she didn’t have the easiest start in life, and the world hasn’t always felt like a safe or predictable place to her. But despite that, Maeve has held onto something truly special- her ability to love.Since being given the chance to experience kindness, patience, and care, Maeve has begun to blossom. Each day, she grows a little more confident, a little more curious, and a little more joyful. She’s discovering the simple pleasures of life- fresh air, open spaces, and the comfort of being part of a home where she feels safe. Watching her learn to explore the outdoors and embrace new experiences is incredibly rewarding. Once Maeve gets to know you, her affectionate side truly shines. She absolutely loves to cuddle, happily gives gentle kisses, and will never say no to a good belly rub. These sweet moments are her way of showing just how much love she has to give.Maeve finds comfort in the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion to help guide and reassure her. She has also successfully lived with cats in the past. While she is making wonderful progress, Maeve can still be sensitive to quick movements and loud noises, so she would do best in a calm, adult-only home where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace. Maeve is a gentle soul with so much love to give. With the right home—one filled with patience, understanding, and encouragement, she will continue to flourish into the loyal, loving companion she’s meant to be.If you’re interested in giving Maeve the loving home she deserves, please submit an adoption application at sarlnh.org/adoptadog.

If you would like to apply to take CLEMENTINE home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Clementine was returned to the rescue because her mom fell sick and passed away. She was the only dog at her house but wasn’t sure what to think about multiple dogs. At the time her foster mom had 2 puppies in a pen. Clementine felt safe with them and learned she was safe. The puppies showed her the way. Clementine learned how to go out the dog door and to play. From there she has grown in confidence.. she now likes to come up and ask for kisses and hugs. Clementine loves to play with the big dogs now but still not sure when you chase after her. She is your alarm system she likes to let you know someone is outside. She is not sure of strangers coming in but once she feels comfortable with them she comes up to see them and smell them… she is a sweet girl and would love to have her forever!

Story
Lexie (approximately 40 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from a foster home in Tennessee. She was born into a family of bear hunting dogs, but our beautiful Lexie just doesn't fit in. She has zero interest in chasing bears and she dislikes loud noises, so Lexie's owner decided to try & find her a life that does not involve bears. Lexie was lucky enough to spend the last month in a Southern foster home, where she has been adapting to being a cherished indoor pet living in the home with her people rather than a hunting dog living outside in a kennel. Lexie is a charming and slightly shy young lady who enjoys meeting new people, especially if they give her snacks, talk in soft voices, and offer lots of good petting. She got along well with the human children and the other dog in her foster home, and she quickly learned her name and now comes when called. Lexie is crate trained and LOVES her crate & the sense of security it brings her. She sleeps through the night in her crate and will even take naps in it. Lexie received her very first toy while in her foster home - and she is ridiculously cute when she gets the chance to play. Come meet this lovely girl today & see if you'd like to help her continue her journey from bear hunter to beloved companion. If you'd like to meet Lexie and all her friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Story
Gin (approximately 47 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Tennessee. At first glance you'll be charmed by her appearance - after all, she looks like she's wearing a dapper tuxedo with her little freckley paws a the end of her long black sleeves. While you're stopped to tell her how pretty she is, you'll learn that she is also an affectionate & charming girl who loves to get attention from people. This social lady is always ready to make new friends, and her short tail works overtime to show you how happy she is. Gin participated in doggie play groups at her previous shelter and reportedly enjoyed her time with other dogs; she has been friendly towards the other dogs she has encountered here. Despite being a mature lady at 5 years old, Gin can still romp around and play with toys like a puppy when the mood strikers her. She is a lovely, loving dog who cannot wait to finally have her own fur-ever family - come meet Gin today! If you'd like to meet Gin and all her friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Story
Bowan (approximately 28 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Tennessee. He is a friendly, social, and outgoing puppy who is often described as "the sweet n chunky little munchkin" by his volunteer dog walking pals. When Bowan was first rescued his legs were weak from malnutrition, but some time in a loving foster home spent eating a healthy high protein diet has sorted out this issue. Good thing too, since Bowan LOVES to run, jump, and play his little heart out! This handsome blue boy was fostered with dogs of all sizes as well as human children, and he reportedly did very well with both species. We suspect that Bowan will weigh 63-76 pounds when full grown, but this is not an exact science, so please take it with a grain of salt ;) Come meet Bowan today - he will be so excited to see you!If you'd like to meet Bowan and all his friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dexter is a handsome 5‑year‑old, 65‑lb Rottweiler with that classic rottie charm. He may start off a little aloof, but once he knows you, he’s friendly, gentle, and wonderfully easy to live with. He’s crate trained, housebroken, great in the car, and relaxed on leash. Dexter enjoys other dogs, loves his walks, and settles beautifully at home — usually right beside his person. He’s affectionate, food‑motivated, and happiest following you around for cuddles and quiet companionship. Dexter is still learning the fun parts of being a dog and would do best in a calm home with adults or older kids.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Apply on our web site: http://4theloveofdog.org/adopt.html April 7, 2026, 12:05 pm
