Story
Buddy is a superactive, playful, and social Labradoodle who thrives on activity and interaction. He loves walks, playing fetch, and splashing in water, his absolute favorite activity. With his lively, outgoing personality and boundless curiosity, Buddy brings excitement and joy to every game, making him a fun-loving, loyal companion for an active family. His daily routine includes waking up around 7-8 a.m., going for a walk and nature call, then enjoying breakfast and relaxation. He spends his day exploring the backyard, having a snack, resting, and winding down after dinner and an evening walk, usually sleeping by 7-8 p.m.Buddy would do best in an active household with a backyard, though he can adapt to other settings with regular morning and evening walks. He's great with both young and older kids, making him a wonderful family companion. He's trained in basic commands, crate-trained, and well-behaved with no separation anxiety.

Story
Hello! My name is Scooby!I`m a charming love muffin who enjoys meeting new people. I may get excited and be a bit jumpy but I`m super smart and am learning about lots of cool manners. I love to snuggle with human beings. The more pets, the better. I am a giant puppy and I move like one - uncoordinated bouncing and leaping. I can be mouthy, like I said, I`m a giant puppy, but I`m pretty gentle about it. I would love to join a home that has the time and interest in continuing my training!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers would be good, no young kiddos given my size and tendency to be jumpy.OTHER DOGS: Yes, with a dog who would love to run and play with me but won`t be upset by my initial barking.CATS: No, I don`t think a cat friend would enjoy my exuberance.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has large breed dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any, with a fully-fenced in yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily, though I might not be the best match for a home with humans who are gone for a full work day.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium-high.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!FOSTER ME! I’m excited to be selected as part of the Paisley Project and I’m looking for a foster home! If your home environment matches what I’m looking for based on the information above, please consider applying to foster me by copying and pasting the following link to fill out the questionnaire: https://guelphhumane.ca/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=frm_forms_preview&form=7y88o.The Paisley Project aims to match selected, long-stay animals at GHS with fosters that can provide a home that gradually introduces them to the everyday experiences of life as a pet. Fosters will offer the routine, structure and stability needed to help get animals ready for their new family. Learn more at https://guelphhumane.ca/the-paisley-project/.

Hello! My name is Cicada!I`m the sweetest, friendliest girl you`ll meet! I`m playful, silly, affectionate and have the most darling wiggle bum. I enjoy making new human friends and dog friends. I am still a puppy and looking for a home that has the patience and interest in training and puppy energy!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Yes, older and mature children since I can get jumpy when kiddos run around.OTHER DOGS: Yes, please! I love meeting new dogs and playing with dogs!CATS: Potentially, it would have to be a cat experienced with an exuberant puppy and who knows to stand their ground rather than run and create a game of chase.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: Potentially, if you have the time, energy and interest in meeting my puppy energy needs!FENCED-IN YARD: Required, since sadly I am not comfortable eliminating on leash or when humans are too close. HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any with fenced yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily. Though since I’m still young and working on house-training, a home where I will be left for full workdays would not be ideal.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium. HOUSE-TRAINED: No, due to some negative experiences in my past around house-training, I will require ongoing patience and training. If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Hello! My name is Pippin!I`m a sensitive guy who can get stressed when things change. I love stability and routine, but who doesn`t, right!? I have been spending my time in a wonderful foster home where I`m learning to feel safe and I`m coming out of my shell. I love to snuggle in bed with my humans and I do ok with strangers as long as they give me space and let me be. While I do fine living with dogs and even meeting dogs, I do sometimes bark and pull when seeing them on leash. I would love for my humans to continue with positive training to help walks be more relaxing. I promise to pay with snuggles and being a fantastic dog companion!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: I`m looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: Yes, with a respectful, calm dog.CATS: Potentially, with a cat experienced living with dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I`m looking for someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required unless rural.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any with yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: No, I do well left alone.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I would make a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Hello! My name is Mikka!I`m a sweet and gentle girl looking for a loving home! I enjoy playing with toys and would love a home where I will get lots play time and outdoor adventures! I do enjoy chew toys, so hopefully my new family is happy to provide me with lots of fun things to chew. I have been in a wonderful foster home for a while now and we`ve learned that I love car rides and I might be a water dog - rain doesn`t scare me and I`m very interested in the bathtub when water starts flowing into it! I am scared of getting into trouble. My foster humans are doing a good job of showing me that I`m a good girl and nothing bad is going to happen, but sadly, likely due to my past, my first reaction is still to cower when I think someone is going to do something scary. I would really benefit from a gentle, kind home where the humans will continue to help me feel safe and build my confidence. I am a snuggly girl who would appreciate humans who enjoy dog cuddles!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers should be fine. No young children given I can be timid.OTHER DOGS: Yes, with a well-matched dog of similar or larger size. I enjoy chasing and running but don`t like rough and tumble puppy energy.CATS: No, given my prey drive.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: Yes, if you have some experience with dogs and recognizing nervous body language.FENCED-IN YARD: Applicants with a fully-fenced yard would be preferred given I can be reactive to dogs & wildlife on leash, so a yard gives us a nice break from walks.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings given I can be skittish and don`t love other dogs in my personal bubble.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Yes, with older/tall kids who are less concerned about being knocked over given my size and that I may jump when excited.OTHER DOGS: Potentially, with a friendly female dog. I don`t seem to love the boy doggos.CATS: Potentially, with a dog-savvy cat who has lived and done well with a dog before.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: Potentially, if you have some large breed experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Recommended for a safe space to burn off some energy.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any with plan for physical exercise/area to run.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.
