Story
Dak / Neutered Male / 2 Years / 76lbs /Coonhound x Bulldog / Dogs: Yes / Cats: No / Kids: 16+ / Location: Port Colborne Reintroducing… DAK! Formerly known as Yamper, this handsome boy was adopted as a puppy but became “too much” for a busy family with young kids. Once back in our care, it was clear he hadn’t been given the consistency and structure he truly needed. He arrived in rough shape, but we got him healthy, confident, and ready for a fresh start. Dak spent time in foster and then moved to a wonderful boarding program where he’s been brushing up on his manners and learning all the “good boy rules.” And he’s been THRIVING. He plays with lots of different dogs every day He’s super well socialized He’d LOVE a playful canine buddy at home Dak is food motivated, affectionate, loves a good sniffari, and is always excited for new adventures. He’s incredibly sweet and sensitive, he wants to please, but he can get overstimulated without clear guidance. Dak needs a confident, committed human who will give him structure, enrichment, and leadership. In return? The biggest cuddles, a loyal companion, and a dog who will blossom with the right person. Here he’s become a well adjusted, happy boy. He can play or quietly entertain himself with a stick, or just take in the world around him. He’s ready for someone who will take the time to truly know him. We are currently looking for a foster, a foster-to-adopt home, or an adoptive home for Dak. He deserves his person, someone who will help him continue to grow and thrive. Could that be you? Apply to adopt/foster to adopt below, or reach out for more info on becoming a foster home for this swell guy. https://forms.gle/HNH8mmiKGfQXfuGr9

Story
Pongo / Neutered Male / 6 Months / Lab mix? / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: 13+ / Location: East Garafraxa Meet Pongo (again!) This handsome boy was adopted earlier this year but sadly returned just a month later. Pongo is a truly special pup who needs an equally special home to match. At just 6 months old and 45 lbs, Pongo is full of energy, smarts, and heart. While we were told he might be a Border Collie/Lab mix, we aren’t entirely sure, what we do know is that he won’t get too much bigger and that he’s 100% adorable. Pongo can be nervous in new situations or around unfamiliar people, but he’s been working so hard to overcome this. He even spent several weeks with our friends at stylek9dogtraining, where he learned amazing skills that will set him up for success. His future family will continue his journey with a few follow up classes, already covered in his adoption fee, because consistency is key for this sensitive boy. What makes Pongo amazing: Walks beautifully on leash, calmly and politely (even sitting at stops!) Crate trained & fully housebroken Snuggle king who always wants to be near his people Playful, smart, and food motivated, he learns fast! Loves doggy friends, is good with cats, and would thrive with or without another dog in the home Because of his nervous nature, Pongo would do best with older, dog savvy kids. A yard to run, play, and chase squirrels would be a dream for him. To help him settle in, Pongo will even come with his special “place bed” included in his adoption fee, we want to give him every chance to succeed. Pongo is sweet, loving, and so ready for a family who will understand his past and nurture his bright future. Could that be you? https://forms.gle/gMSrMCVFqQ3fb5gN8

Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Onyx was gifted to me in my last relationship, he was 8 weeks old. He is now 2 years old. He’s a very sweet and loving pup, loves to play and spend time with my family. He is naturally very protective being a German shepherd. He loves going on hikes and use to love the dog park as well, but I feel he has developed some anxiety since my work schedule has intensified, we haven’t been able to go out as much. My family looks after him when I travel for work. I will be relocating to BC, and my family cannot take him in full time. It’s with a heavy heart that I have no other choice but to rehome my dear pup. He deserves more consistent attention and time. Looking for the right match for Onyx.

Story
Jaxon is 12yrs old and slowing down a little bit. He needs someone who can take him for more walks and let him sleep on a couch. He is good in a home with older kids and NO OTHER DOGS!! He is a puggle, so he does shed a bit even with regular grooming. He is food motivated. He does bark but doesn't last long. Looking for the right fit, MUST be willing to keep me updated on him through pictures and if close enough, possible visits. Any other questions please ask

Story
Currently fostered in Texas Please read complete bio. Granny Dixie . We all LOVE this dog because she is certainly quirky and makes us smile. She is apx 10 -12 years old and apx 14 pounds. Granny Dixie is from a high kill shelter here in our town of Pleasanton. She was in rough shape when we got her, but it is very clear that once upon a time someone really loved this dog. She was already spayed and has clearly already had dental work done in the past. She has good potty manners and walks on leash. She LOVES walks. She does have scarring around her neck conducive of being either tied up outside or wearing a collar for too long that was way too tight. She is a bit thin, low muscle mass but already showing improved body composition. She has a good appetite. Her coat was disgustingly dirty and fried from the Texas Sun, she had clearly been outdoors for a while. Her coat is getting softer. She has your typical arthritis in her rear legs but she does not seem in pain. We have never heard Dixie make a sound, never a bark or a whimper or a fuss. She is the most laid back easy peasy dog you could ever ask for. She likes attention but is not needy. She is not a huge fan of being “coddled”. She loves people and loves attention and Baby talk and to be doing whatever it is you’re doing she will follow you everywhere, but she is not really one that adores being picked up or squeezed or her face being kissed all over. She is not a mushy dog lover dog. She does love people though. She is happy being near you she loves when you walk through the door and she does little happy dances. She has a lot of personality in her own way and truly is a southern grandma type . She checks on the other dogs . She will let any dog lay with her . She is just so go with the flow of the day zero anxiety. She would love a low key home without a lot of chaos but I am sure she would be fine with visits from young family members . ***Granny Dixie has some medical we would like to tell you about. She has what are called dermal hemangiomas. A dermal hemangioma is a common, benign (non-cancerous) growth of extra blood vessels in the skin, often appearing as a red or purple "strawberry mark," The vet stated these are mostly non cancerous but the only way to know for sure would be to cut them and biopsy them. Considering her age and the fact that she does not need to go under anesthesia for a spay or dental, we find the risk is worse than the reward in this outcome and do not feel the need to put her under anesthesia to get these biopsied. At her age, even if these were cancerous there is very little anyone would be able to do about it at this point. Pics in comments. Story
Currently fostered in Texas Shadow is apx 1.5 year young and apx18 pounds. He was found running down a street and had a collar on with a phone number. We called and txt the number . After about an hour the “owner” replied stating they were on vacation and apparently left the dog in the back yard with food and water. I asked if they were going to come back to get them and then they blocked me so the answer to that is NO. Poor Shadow. He deserves so much better!! Shadow is a nervous boy for a minute while meeting new people and being in new places but a little baby talk and he is settles in and as soon as you give him pets and kisses, he is now your new bff. He is actually very social and friendly and silly, just weary of strangers for a moment. Who can blame him. Safe to say he was not treated well by his gem of an owner. He has a fluffy tail and a medium length soft coat, he loves to play and is a happy dog but also loves cuddles and is an excellent mix of both playful and chill. He loves all animals and although we don’t have children to test him with I think he would be great with kids. He walks on leash. He keeps his kennel clean but is not 100% potty trained however holds it all night in his kennel Run. He will need a belly band in the house until he gets fully potty trained but he is so people pleasy, I can’t imagine that taking very long.
