Story
Meet Jay Jay- aka Rocco! Jay Jay is a loyal boy and he devotes himself to you; he does so with all his heart. He is quite the handsome boy but he is unsure of new people. He would need a patient adopter who wouldn`t mind spending some time to get to know him. Once he trusts you, he is a real cuddle bug who loves to be pet and give kisses. Jay Jay loves to play with his toys (especially tennis balls) and usually has a hilarious goofy look on his face. Jay Jay loves his family but would do best in an adult only household with few visitors. Jay Jay is more than enough love for one family so he prefers not to share your attention with other canines or cats. Jay Jay also loves going for runs and playing in the water. He is very smart and loves to eat from puzzle toys. Come meet this handsome doggie today!

Story
Kona is a 7 year old, 70 lb Shepherd mix and a shelter employee and volunteer favorite! This big girl has got personality! A lover of long walks, hikes, and treatos! She`ll give a paw or two for cookies. She loves everyone she meets and shes easy on the eyes.So what`s the catch? Why do dogs like Kona get overlooked? With great personality comes quirks sometimes. For Kona, it`s resource guarding. Simply put, in the past when she has decided something is hers... she has defended her ownership of it fiercely. Whether it be high value objects or food items.https://www.cognitoforms.com/griffinpondanimalshelter1/griffinpondanimalshelteradoptionapplicationfordogsGriffin Pond Animal Shelter 967 Griffin Pond RdSouth Abington Twp Pa 18411 Kennel License #2236That said, she has received some training to work with her resource guarding but would need to be continued in a new home. Her daily dog walkers speak volumes of her as being the easiest dog to walk in the entire kennel. As well as most affectionate! But remember , this is a controlled environment . She needs the same structure and routine in a home.Because of her past resource guarding, she would do best in a low traffic home without young children or other pets. Someone who has experience with canine resource guarding or can provide training for her would be of most benefit to her in a new home. Please give Kona the chance she deserves.

Story
Megg is with us for quite some time since July of 2019 to be exact. We realize that not every dog that comes into the shelter is going to be instantly ready to go directly into a home .Poor Megg was absolutely petrified when she came in . We needed time for her to adjust and so we could could learn what was causing her such distress .She is a great walker but she tends to be shy with new people. She would need a few meet and greets, to establish trust with strangers . Once she is your friend, it is for life. She is adaptable and loving when spending time with people she knows. She can run around and play but really likes petting and relaxing with her people.Would do best as only animal in the home and no children due to her fearfulness. Our staff that have had the most interaction with her say that she has a very sweet nature and loving spirit.Megg is 8 years old and look at how beautiful she is .This girl deserves a forever home and family .She is housebroken, walks perfectly on a leash , takes commands and can be a true best friend. She has been an exceptional dog in her time with us. She would be great with a retired man or woman , or a couple who has time to love on her .If you are interested in meeting Megg , please apply here :Www.griffinpondanimalshelter.com/adopt

Story
Meet Wadoo, his bew picture is fabulous ! He needed a fresh look ?? Wadoos adoption fee has been generously sponsored by Kimberly Cocuzza, in hopes that will help him to find a home more quickly!Wadoo came to us as an unruly 6 month old puppy , ( typical of all puppies) . Unfortunately for him, He is now a black pitbull “adult” in the middle of the shelter system .Even at 6 months , we couldn’t find him a home, black pitbulls are the last to be chosen ??He’s currently 17 months old and has spent half of his life with us .Our handlers have worked with him on his manners but his unfortunate past has left him feeling uncomfortable with other animals .He would be a great companion pup for someone willing to help him continue his journey outside of the shelter setting .To meet this chunky boy , please apply here : https://www.cognitoforms.com/griffinpondanimalshelter1/griffinpondanimalshelteradoptionapplicationfordogs
