Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Diesel is a 3yr old large, Great Pyrenees and Cane Corso mix. He was saved from an animal control facility, where he was set to be euthanized the next day. He was initially found as a stray, so the rest of his history is unknown. Diesel loves to roll over for tummy scratches, play fetch, and snuggle with you in your chair! He  also enjoys being outside in fenced in yard. He does well in 6ft fenced in yard, with no digging or  trying to escape. He does not liked to be in a crate, but does better in an outdoor type dog kennel. He  has been working on his leash walking manners as he gets excited when he sees other dogs. Diesel has done well meeting people and older children. Small, younger children not recommended due to his large size and playfulness. He has been introduced to a cat, but slow introductions and supervision be advised with any resident cat to ensure they get along. Diesel is dog selective. He has done well with dogs 40+ lbs. He has enjoyed the company of certain dogs with no issues, but then has not gotten along with others. A meet-and-greet is necessary with any current dogs in potential adaptor’s home. Story
Hi, I'm Jake! I'm a 6-month-old Great Pyrenees mix puppy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. I'm a very sweet boy who loves people and enjoys being part of the family.   I'm kennel trained and potty trained, and I'll even sit by the door and bark when I need to go outside! I love long walks, running around the yard, and playing fetch—although I usually don't bring the ball all the way back. I also love to dig, so if you have a yard, don't be surprised if I decide to "help" with the landscaping every now and then! I've been exposed to lots of different environments, enjoy playing with other dogs, and have done great with kids.   Like many puppies, I'm still learning. I can be protective of my food, toys, and especially bones. If another dog comes too close while I'm eating, or someone tries to take a bone away, I may growl or react. My foster family has been working with me on this, and I'm already making great progress. I'll do best with a family that understands positive reinforcement and is willing to continue helping me build confidence and good manners.   If you're looking for a loyal, playful, loving companion who's ready for adventures, cuddles, and a lifetime of friendship, I just might be the perfect pup for you!         Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $650.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 17, 2026, 1:07 am

Story
Introducing Kit: part Great Pyrenees, part Doberman, and 100% professional weirdo. She’s about three years old, has legs for days, and a nose that works overtime like a tiny detective on an endless case. Kit has gone from “stranger danger” mode to “sniff your hair while you’re watching Netflix” mode, and that’s what we call progress.   Her daily routine is very official: three laps around her kennel like an Olympic track star before dinner, followed by stealing the couch or your bed because, honestly, she’s royalty and crates are for peasants. She’s learning that humans = belly rub dispensers, and she’s totally here for it.   Kit is a huge fan of dogs, though she sometimes comes in a little too hot on first introductions (think: bossy camp counselor vibes). Once she knows who’s in charge, she’s good to go, and she’s the best babysitter for puppies. What she is not into? Cats, chickens, birds, squirrels, or basically anything small and fluffy that isn’t her designated sibling. For those, her prey drive kicks in and—let’s just say—it’s a hard no.   She’s obsessed with running, but luckily, she’s not a fence-jumper. A nice sturdy yard is her dream stage for zoomies. When she’s not sprinting, she’s all about long walks, soft toys, and claiming furniture like it’s her birthright. She’ll even listen to “leave it” when she’s yelling at the neighbors, which is basically the dog version of good manners.   Kit is still a little shy at first, but once she warms up, you’ll find a goofy, loyal, slightly dramatic best friend who makes the small victories (like coming when called) feel like winning the lottery. She’s been waiting long enough—this couch hog is ready to claim your couch and, more importantly, your heart.       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 17, 2026, 1:07 am

Story
Me are introducing Sarah, one of the 12 puppies that arrived in Minnesota. Sarah is a shy puppy, still getting used to the love, attention, and comfort of a home. It's taking Sarah some time to settle into her routines. She's truly beautiful and sweet, full of energy and affection. Sarah is very docile when it comes to getting attention and is quick to communicate her needs. Sarah is working hard on her routines; she just needs someone to hold her in their arms with love and affection, to guide her, and a family to belong to. If you are someone who loves animals and wants to make room in your heart and family for a puppy, don't hesitate to meet Sarah. Her tender eyes will tell you that she is the perfect match you've been waiting for, and I assure you she will fill your heart and life with unforgettable moments. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Yeti found himself unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. He is good with other dogs and people, and is indifferent to cats.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Yeti was found roaming through Texas with another Pyrenees and both were lucky enough to hitch a ride to MN to find their forever homes. Yeti has been with us for about 2 weeks now and his personality is really starting to shine! He would make an amazing family dog or loyal companion. He has incredible house manners: potty trained, crate trained, quiet besides short alert barks if someone is arriving. He is friendly or indifferent to cats, dogs (though would not do well with dog parks, needs slower intros and prefers lower energy dogs), young kids and toddlers, even our pet rabbit. He did very well with bathing and grooming, gets zoomies after baths. The only potential behavior we’ve observed to watch for is counter surfing. Gentle, slow positive reinforcement training will be key. His favorite activities so far seem to be true Pyrenees pastimes: exploring the outdoors, taking long walks and jogs, wandering through meadows, observing the activities of the house. He doesn’t care much for toys, but loves marrow bones. He ideally would like a large yard that has a physical fence. He is not the biggest fan of the leash, but with gentle patience could improve with time. Does better on a halter. I believe he would do fine as the only pet. He doesn’t seem to need constant attention, so his owners could leave him at home during work. However, he is still young so requires extended time outdoors and long daily walks. If you are looking for a calm, gentle guardian who loves exploring the outdoors, you need to check out Yeti! First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vetting appointment.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2026, 7:56 pm

Story
Waverly is the softest, floofiest, most affectionate girl ever. She's an absolute love bug who adores getting and giving affection to everyone she meets, no matter the species. In an ideal world, she would spend some time galloping around outside with a dog or human companion a few times a day, then crash at your feet or in your lap for many hours of well-earned naps. She's growing quickly and doesn't quite understand how to coordinate all her limbs yet when she's running, especially with those big paws of hers, so she has some pretty hilarious wipeouts when "sprinting" around the yard. Like any Pyrenees, she definitely prefers cooler weather and will be an amazing partner for winter walks, snowshoeing, skiing, anything you could possibly want to do outside. She's doing great with potty training and she LOVES treats and is smart enough to earn lots of them! This girl is going to be an amazing companion for any Great Pyrenees lover, she can't wait to meet you and win your heart! Waverly is estimated to be 14 weeks old and 20 lbs. Since we dont know the dogs actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Please note: All dogs/puppies will not be at every event, and some may find their home prior to the event. If you are interested in a specific animal, please check our Facebook page for confirmed attendance the morning of the event: https://www.facebook.com/safehandsrescue/ You do not need to have a Facebook account to check the Safe Hands Facebook page for attendance. We hope to see you at an upcoming Meet & Greet!
