Story
This beautiful girl is looking for a special person who understands that the best friendships take a little time to grow. She may need some patience and encouragement while she gets comfortable, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality really begins to shine! She enjoys being around her people, soaking up gentle attention, and showing off her playful side with adorable play bows and plenty of fun energy. She’s a smart, engaging girl who has so much potential to become a wonderful companion. She does well with other dogs and may enjoy having a canine friend who matches her personality, with proper introductions. She would prefer a home without cats, though, as she has shown that she likes to chase. Her ideal family will be patient, experienced, and willing to give her the time and space she needs to build confidence. She would do best with older children who can respect her boundaries and understand that every dog has their own way of communicating. With love, consistency, and positive reinforcement, this beautiful girl is sure to blossom into a loyal and affectionate best friend. If you`re looking for a playful, intelligent companion and are ready to give her the time she needs to trust and bond with you, she may just be the girl you`ve been waiting for!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.Storm`s adoption fee is $150

Story
Brady is a handsome 2-year-old Siberian Husky, Shepherd, and Akita mix with a gorgeous coat and eyes that are even more beautiful. This striking boy is full of personality, energy, and potential, but he is not a dog for just anyone. Brady is looking for a strong, confident handler and a young, very active family who understands that his best life will come from intention, structure, consistency, and dedication to his continued training, exercise and socialization. His new home must have a secure privacy fence all the way around the property—no exceptions—so Brady has a safe space to enjoy his outdoor time and burn off some of that Husky energy.Brady has shown that he can do well with both male and female dogs who can match his high-energy play style, although he has displayed some barrier reactivity that will need continued work through positive experiences, training, and thoughtful socialization. He is looking for an adopter who is willing to put in the time and effort to help him become the best version of himself. Because of his prey drive and current behavior, Brady cannot go to a home with cats, small rodents, or birds. He is up-to-date on all vaccines and preventative care, heartworm negative, and will be available through foster-to-adopt until after his neuter appointment. Brady`s adoption fee is $100. If you are an experienced, active dog person looking for a smart, energetic companion and are ready to commit to the training and structure Brady needs, this handsome boy may just be your perfect adventure partner. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lupin is a lovely pup with a lot of energy. He loves to run around the yard and loves going camping. He is good with adults and older children (10 and up) but not so much with younger kids. Lupin gets along with other dogs but only for a short period of time until he kicks into alpha mode and starts to push them around. He absolutely cannot be around cats. We love Lupin to death and wish we could keep him but we have been trying to acclimate him to our 2 year old son for the last 2 years and it just isn't working. It is in the best interest of ourselves and Lupin that we find him a forever home where he doesn't have to be separated from his family and can live freely amongst them. Please Contact Lupin's owner directly with the contact information below. Owner will be asking for a home visit meet and greet as well as rehoming fee. thekochuts@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
