Story
Meet Gorda – Your Gentle Companion Basic Info: Name: Gorda Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Labrador Retriever Mix Sex: Female DOB: April 10, 2024 Weight: 45 lbs Intake Date: April 9, 2024 Personality – Shy But Sweet: Gorda is a soft-hearted soul who starts off a little shy but quickly warms up to kind voices and gentle touches. Once she feels safe, her tail starts to wag and her eyes light up with affection. She enjoys quiet companionship, slow introductions, and belly rubs from those she trusts. Gorda is the perfect blend of calm and cuddly—ideal for a home that can offer patience, peace, and love. Breed Information: As a Pit Bull and Labrador Retriever mix, Gorda combines the best of both breeds. Pit Bulls are known for their loyalty, strength, and intelligence, while Labradors are famously friendly, social, and eager to please. This mix often results in a devoted, affectionate companion who thrives with structure and positive reinforcement. Gorda will benefit from daily exercise, enrichment activities, and ongoing socialization. Owner Responsibilities: Provide regular vet care, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and a balanced diet Daily exercise like walks, playtime, or backyard fun Mental stimulation through toys, training, and social experiences Time, patience, and consistency to help build her confidence A safe, secure home environment with supervision and boundaries Positive training methods (no harsh punishment-based approaches) Commitment for Life: When you adopt Gorda, you’re promising to be her safe place for the rest of her life. Through every stage—puppy, adult, and senior—she deserves your loyalty and love. This commitment means never abandoning her due to lifestyle changes, moving, or other temporary setbacks. Gorda will return your lifelong devotion tenfold. Do Not Leash Your Dog Outside Unattended: Gorda should never be tethered or left outside alone. It’s unsafe, isolating, and doesn’t meet her need for companionship and supervision. Dogs who are tied out can become anxious, territorial, and vulnerable to harm. Gorda belongs with you, safely inside and part of your family. Why Adopt Gorda? Gorda is more than a pretty face—she’s a dog waiting for someone to see the beauty in her gentle heart. If you’re the kind of person who values patience, kindness, and forming deep bonds, Gorda will reward you with loyalty, love, and quiet joy. Give her a chance, and she’ll give you a best friend for life. Story
This little guy is about 3 months old and he came to us from the Bonita Shelter in San Diego along with his sister, Astrid. He’s confident, curious, playful, and full of energy. Lucky for us his foster family has a playful dog to help wear him out and show him the ropes. This Labrador mix delights everyone he meets and is thriving with all the attention, love, direction, and training his foster family is giving him. Chance adores his canine foster sibling, Telly, and hangs out with her wherever she goes. Chance is still completing his vaccinations and can’t go on public walks just yet, so his foster family has made sure he’s getting plenty of safe backyard playtime with other dogs to help him socialize. Chance is looking for an adoptive home that includes another friendly canine companion, someone who is home more often than not, and people who are ready for puppy energy. His ideal family will be committed to helping shape his world through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement training.

Rico Here! I am a 2 year old, 60ish lb lab mix. My rescue auntie's sprung me from jail and found me a safe place to be a happy goober. So far, I love all dogs and people. My favorite things are balls, balls, balls! I fetch them, bring them back and then collapse into a puddle for belly rubs. I love a good walk/hike but I'm also a great foot warmer and little spoon! I try to sit for pets and treatos but sometimes gotta jump! Check back as my fab foster fam gets to know me better. So far, if I say so myself, I am quite da "catch!" Story
Nothing beats that sweet puppy breath! Meet Astrid, our little warrior princess who lives up to her name from How to Train Your Dragon. She’s got the heart, loyalty, smarts, and beauty to match — and she’s determined to grow into the most loving, playful, and faithful best friend you could ask for. Astrid already knows “sit” and will happily show off her skills for a treat. She’s thriving on her puppy schedule, which includes potty breaks, meals, playtime, and naps — all handled like a champ. At bedtime, she can be a tiny bit cheeky about going into her crate, but with a little encouragement, she settles in quickly. She’s a social butterfly in the making! Astrid has been wonderful with everyone she’s met — cuddling with cats, sharing with the big dogs, and making new friends along the way. She’s a Labrador mix (with a bit of mystery!) born in April and came to our rescue after a local shelter reached out for help. She’s already shown how adaptable she is, transitioning smoothly through a stopover foster home before settling into her current one. Astrid would thrive in a home with other canine companions who can help her continue to build confidence and explore the world around her. If you’re looking for a pup full of potential, love, and just the right amount of sass — Astrid might be your perfect match. 💛
